This being cold storage why did you have funds on an exchange which was used for cold storage?  Not a knock just a question I think most of us have felt the exchange "hack" pain

Hedge in terms of: I couldn't be tempted to trade with it or risk funds on idiot exchanges. I didn't leave funds on exchanges except when they left me no choice, ie hacked.

Probably 27-29 btc. This was actually a hedge against exchange hacks (which cost me a fortune).

Out of interest, have any more of these sold?

I have an unspent s2-25 I bought for 28.5 btc back in 2013 and would be interested in selling for the right price.

UK based.

Coin isn't graded because I didn't want to risk posting it but it's in good condition and been stored in a bank vault. I referenced them in a tedx talk in 2014 (photo of them is even on the youtube video).

Just curious whats the "right price"?

Before any Questions/Offers I am not even sure it is yours? Anyone can just post pictures. Can you write your username on a white paper with today's date and place the coin on the paper and the pen right next to the coin you wrote with.

And for your info listen to the pros here.

I am selling a loaded 25 BTC Casascius coin.  I would prefer to sell it to a collector as opposed to redeeming it.

I used to trade on #bitcoin-otc. bitcointalk locked my account(due to inactivity or weak passphrase) and is refusing to give it back, so here we are.

https://bitcoin-otc.com/viewratingdetail.php?nick=easyat&sign=ANY&type=RECV

I am looking for a combination of BTC and USD.  I am located in Oregon but can travel.

Questions/Offers?

Thanks for looking

For 25 btc id recommend meeting him IRL in a public place, eventho i wouldn't feel really safe knowing whats in the deal.
Then peeling and checking the coin right there, would be a real shame but i can think of no other option knowing the amount of fakes going around and how well a fake like this would be made knowing its value.
If the address proves to be of the coin and funded It means I should of shut up and let the thread lonely, lol.

Indeed - You are an idiot, so quit shit posting for sig camp posts, please. Roll Eyes
I wouldn't shitpost for a sig campaing, this one is not paid.

I admit it is radical option but unless you can be certain it's the address you believe it is then it's not worth the risk of having a address printed by someone else..

I don’t think you understand how Casascius coins work. There is a tamper proof hologram sitting over the private keys. If that is tampered with in any way, you can tell. There are first bits on the outside of the hologram that you can use to check and see if the coin is funded. Peeling is not necessary.

If it's a fake, it's a good looking fake.   Wink

Would actually love for Denarium or other coin maker to put out a current version of this coin, albeit not in the 25 BTC denom.  Just a nice looking piece to own and peeled versions are hard to find.

That said, if anyone has a peeled example they'd like to sell, hit me up!

I'd be really careful with fakes. Looks gorgeous anyhow.

Not sure if the 1000 btc casascius ever touched the forum.

For $270,000, “be really careful” is an understatement 😳
