What if someone is leasing shares because he wants to test out his new private pool and needs a stress test?

I thought that you can only purchase work to approved pools.

Oh, well that makes it even less shady imo.

That's the 2nd time you said that in this thread. You need to understand people letting GPUMax lease their shares don't give a flying fuck where their shares are going, as long as they make extra profits.

And you don't always know its "Shady". What if someone is leasing shares because he wants to test out his new private pool and needs a stress test?

That's a stretch. Smiley

GPUMax is DEF the way to go lol

I am making more then I ever have and I am only at 18 Ghash right now.

More cards on the way to get to 25.

As long as you don't mind your cards being used for shady purposes.

Um, not at all.  It's a cold world, bro.  SOMEONE is gonna get that money.  Might as well be me.  Might as well be you.

I mine with p2pool for the cool factor more than anything Cool

I like how it brings Bitcoin back toward its more primitive state, when there were not pools which could have influence on development.

Interesting choice of phrase. I'd probably go for "less centralized".

Whatever you do, don't mine at Deepbit. Tycho's a nice guy, but his pool controls way too large a percentage of the network for anyone's safety.

Well it appears that he has competition from other pools with slush at 12%, Deepbit only at 9%.

Also appears to be a large amount of "unknown" miners.
not sure where you are looking to see that (Ozcoin was biggest Bitcoin pool recently according to blockchain.info 24 hour chart)
http://blockorigin.pfoe.be/top.php is recognised as the most accurate atm

Deepbit has about 3 TH/s, or about 30% of the network. I'm not talking about 24 hour distribution, that's susceptible to a lot of variance.

So, your advanced level mathematics led you to the conclusion that I am making .8 BTC per Ghash.

My low, low level, redneck, grew up in the country shooting guns and riding dirtbikes math got me to .9 BTC per Ghash.

I guess my education isn't that bad after all.

Here is a post I found:

Does anyone have a good approximation for a MH/s to shares conversion?  Say I have 10 GH/s.....how many shares would that produce in 1 hour?

one diff 1 share ~= 2^32 hashes.

1 GH/s * 60 * 60 = 3.6E+12 hashes per hour.

So 3.6E12 / 2^32 = ~838 shares (diff 1) per hour per GH/s

10 GH/s would be 10x that or ~8380 shares per hour.

So, about 838 shares an hour Per GH/s. You have 25GH/s so that's approx. 20950 shares an hour (838*25).

20950*0.00004PPS=0.838BTC an Hour.

That's if your PPS is 0.00004/share on GPUMax of course.

So you should make 0.838*24 a day, aka 20.112BTC.

Sweet!  That is cool!!!  Thanks Tongue

shares rate: 838 shares per hour per GH/s
price per share 0.00004 BTC
in one day (24h):
838*0.00004*24 = .8 BTC per GH/s per day

But I make about .9 BTC per Ghash on GPUMax
But how?
838*0.00004*24 = .8 BTC per Ghash

Again, I only went to public high school.  I don't get your math.

cool factor doesn't cover a 1600 month elec bill, not to mention the debt service on rigs.

What would you do, if you had 25 Ghash?

ozcoin.  free unless you go pps (donations recommended, still less than pps fees).  not shady like gpumax.
