I have $250....

...in my pocket?
...in my savings account?
...to my name?

makes a big difference to the answer.

What's your income and expenditure? What's your cash-flow look like.

Run your finances like you are a business, in which you are 100% shareholder; Do the best thing for the shareholders.

To be specific , it's just some extra money that I don't need and I made it by doing nothing big  Cool

If you want your money to disappear, then yes, spend it on bitcoins.

I really think it's premature to think about cashflow when your float is $250 Smiley Just buy damn 0.5BTC put it in a nice modern wallet and forget about it for several years, otherwise it'll get spent on booze and you'll forget you even had that money the next day.

If he hasn't got any money coming on for a month and his rent cheque is due in two weeks and he needs to eat....

These are pressing cash-flow issues when your float is $250!

I should know Wink

The price will rise with 99.99% of certainty. Now, how low will it go before the rise? different beast.

Just like that.

I would invest it in Litecoin.
Litecoin has more potential. What do you think will happen when the ''next rally'' starts?
Do you think people will buy $100 worth of bitcoin and get, what, maybe 0.1 BTC?
Or will they choose the ''silver'' crypto currency, Litecoin, and get 10 LTC instead?

That's just one factor (psychological) by the way.

Bitcoin WILL rise. But Litecoin will rise more (compared to its current value of +/- $4 USD).

$250 USD gets you around 60 LTC at the moment (compared to +/- 0.65 BTC).

Yeah , I'am pretty sure I can afford to lose that little amount of money  Grin
then I gues I will just go for it ?

What ? USD 400 are you nuts? Place a limit for one @250. With some patience you will have 1 bitcoin then. Still no guarantee that you will not lose your money at this price.

As with any investment, only make it if you can afford to lose the money. Historically, people that invested at these prices have seen profits, but in such a volatile market, the past is not necessarily a good predictor of the future. Good luck!

250 won't do you much in bitcoin, but if you're curious about it and want to have first hand experience of it, now is certainly the better time to buy some. you don't necessarily have to buy all of $250, you can just buy $50,100,150 whatever cause like I said, even all of $250 won't do much, if indeed Bitcoin takes off.

IF you fancy gambling a bit however, you could use that $250 to get a miner, solo mine on it and hope that you chanced upon a block, that will straightaway give you 25btc. It's not guaranteed, but it can happen (I myself have found 2 blocks on my humble S1 but I'm on a pool)
