A smart man once told me back in the old days of the KnC-ASIC-announcement-thread that I should just, "buy bitcoins and forget about mining". I didn't listen to him (I mine with a Jupiter + 2 upgrade modules). If I did, I'd be sitting on $70K right now, instead of $10K.

?  your jupiter is worth over 10k and you've surely mined many thousands worth of btc...

I've mined about $20K, but a Jupiter, 2 upgrade modules, shipping, and accessories costs $10K.

lol why not buy bitcoins?? is more easy and profitable

+1 for just buying BTC

New scrypt coins maybe growing better... ?
That is about stock trading, and stock trading in many occasions is about losing all money and enter in debits.
Diversification is a must.

If you buy hardware, the only way you'll get back your money is if Bitcoin rises in value. BUT if Bitcoin rises in value, you'd make a lot more money buying Bitcoin and holding onto it.

gonna put on a flame suit and blindly walk into this one as a newb. why is everybody overlooking the cointerra terraminer? 6k for 2th means 12k for 4th which seems like a better deal than 10k for 3th. april batch is still open to order too.

with that said though alt coins are far more profitable in the right now. asic scrypt is coming but who knows how that's going to go. takes a bit of micro but there's money in scrypt.

Because it doesn't exist yet? Only possibly in big wafers, not even close to production? Gotta be pretty stupid to order something coming out in april from a company that has never shipped a product.

Buy bitcoins. Wait for KNC to open orders for more jupiters. Profit.

Maybe hedge with black arrow.

A KnCminer Neptune batch 2 cost $9,9995/pc.

I have one of them ordered already - there all sold out now.

Sold out, where do you see that?

Buy $10k bitcoins, $5k litecoins, $3k in another altcoin and use the rest to buy Neptune batch2 for $10k.
I would rather spend most of them on coins than lock them forever for ASICs.

I would definitely buy Jupiters.  They are the best available, IMO.  My favorite miner might be my Saturn, because it is more practical when you live in an apartment... but if you want hash, Jupiter is best right now.

Pre-order a Neptune for $10K
And buy 8 bitmain antminers for 25.2 bitcoins or $18K
That way you have 1.4-1.6th/s right now Smiley
And when you get the Neptune you have 4.4-4.6 terr hash Smiley

Where would you put the money?

Thanks.

GPU rigs to mine Litefcoin as I am doing.

My $.02.

Smiley

I have some litecoin machines running - I never actually did a cost to cost comparision - have you anything? I do know that my bitcoin mining operation is producing more profit per watt but that's not taking into account the cost of the hardware.

Second batch is new and is still available, 904 left.

Oh right, I didn't think I was on the first batch release.
