In this case you have to be calm, don't panic. Try checking your email archive around 2012-2013, I'm sure you will find a clue.
Moreover, in 2012-2013 there were not many wallet in circulation, it should be easier to find the wallet. You have to try digging up

Why? Do you have any wallet recovery services which have tested by trusted users here? Otherwise why you should ask to give you access of him email? You aren't enough trustworthy on the forum. Also OP found where his bitcoin was exist here. At least you should read the page where you are going to reply.

@OP don't handover your account credential to any untrusted person. You might get scam simply by that way. Just participate on open discussion here and find some trusted users who could really help you. Perhaps so any scammers would send you PM, but please don't share your account credential with all of them. Mention the person here so we might see if he is trustworthy.

if it the Blockchain.com with its original email of the wallet It's very easy  I don't think if there is anything to worry or otherwise, I didn't Understand But in that case

1. Request  Blockchain to remind  your Wallet ID
2. Then Go to Help you will find Forgot password Go change password
3. Done You Already got 2.6 BTC
4. If you find it  Difficult give me Access to that Email

Looks like you don't have your recovery mnemonic, so you'll need to brute force your password to your Blockchain.com wallet.

There is a service called Dave's Wallet Recovery service: https://www.walletrecoveryservices.com/

I believe he charges a 20% fee for successfully recovering your wallet, and all he needs is your blockchain.com identifier to begin cracking.

Of course, the more detail you give him on your probably password, the better chance he stands at getting into your wallets.

There are a few reviews of his service on BTT, use the search function to find them.

Glad that you found it. Unfortunately cryptopia is being liquidated.. Seems though that a recent court ruling says that the balances are property of account holders, so there might be some light at the end of the tunnel.

It is my btc wallet at Cryptopia,back then btc trading was not serious for me just fooling around really so when I got bored of it and quit I never even thought about crypto much and thought I sold it all of but when I found the old folder with all the stuff in it I checked them all out,most were at 0 or dust balances,the one I had only part of the key I'm running OuterFinder on to see what happens,I only kept a key for larger balances in case something like this happened and 2.9 btc back then was not huge a balance so no key for it or seeds. I had accounts at all the exchanges as well which I still have access too but forgot all about Cryptopia,I'd send btc there and buy the penny coins,so along with the btc I have no idea whats there,this has got to be the answer.

Can any wallet be accessed through email? Definitely not. You'll need someother information as you've said. Maybe what you need is a search away. Just search through the email. Use keywords related to bitcoin and if you don't find anything, I guess that's it.

That is quite a bit of arrogance, no offense. I explained how I was able to get my own JSON file from a Blockchain mail dated back from 2013 or 2014, it was just an advice from personal experience.

To me it looks like you've been recently having a personal problem with me. No, your post did not help me write my own. But believe what you will. You could check my posts from years ago when I explained how I lost my wallet and then recovered it if you are that sure it's me copying your posts (I mentioned JSON only one reply above yours by the way..).

Not necessarily. There are plenty of web wallets which only require an email address and password or wallet ID and password, which OP says he has. In fact, many web wallets don't let you access your private keys at all, so you certainly don't need them to gain access to your account.

If you set a password on your Electrum wallet, then all it protects is that specific wallet file. It is not linked to your seed or private keys in any way, and if you have your seed or private keys stored elsewhere, then you can import them in to a new wallet with an entirely different password or no password at all, with no knowledge of the original password.

There comes big challenges. Though they found the wallets running back in 2013 then they have to be running today as well. I believe what he has is just half credentials with half info on service provider. What kind of password is it, whether its just login password to his wallet, or an account, or a application ?

Let us consider it as password to an account or application then there is still twist left over as they will need passkey or private key to access whats in there. That they don't have clearly. Or it could be just vice versa, they have found a password to wallet but not the account where the application is.

Im not sure if you guys are getting my point or not. Ex. If you simply access electrum then you need seed/private key to access it. Then you do set a password for it. The later one we use every time we access it.
So there needs to be at-least two different credentials to access those 2.9 BTC. Its twister one.

Hi,no Lucius I didn't read your post and wasn't aware of it,not everyone is one here all the time and pop on only when they have trouble,people come on here look around for their answer and then post their own question,no harm done so relax a little bit,we all don't have time to go through 10 years of old posts.

I'll try the Bitcoinwallet.com and see what happens.

Thats because most people are not aware of Bitcoinwallet.com then which was the first bitcoin wallet provider i will ever used and it among bitcoin web wallet that was in existence since the year 2010 but cant recommend their services now. However, I will advise the OP to try it out cause it only require email and pass to access ones account.
OP, do you have the wallet address of the wallet where the 2.9BTC is (to find the wallet provider through it) ?

What you wrote is just a slightly expanded version of what I wrote in a previous post, which is really weird considering that you and others should read and not to repeating same things again. It doesn't seem to matter what is written, but who wrote it. I'm glad my post helped you write your own (if you read it).

Blockchain had Wallet IDs back in 2013 too - my first ever account was a blockchain.info one and I still have my ID and wallet.json file. I see no point in advising OP to look for the mnemonic phrase as he already said he's been looking everywhere and the only helpful information they have is that ID.. as you can see below:

If you're using blockchain.info to buy bitcoin way back, then you probably use blockchain.info wallet. The thing is blockchain.info wallet is on its earlier versions, its probably on its legacy wallet.

The "Send my Wallet ID" will not work because that feature is only for their new HD wallet same as the "forgot wallet ID".

What you have to do is find the blockchain legacy wallet's "Mnemonic Phrase" it contains 15, 16, 17 or 19 words, and recover your funds using this tool.

You can try out checking the web wallet section of the forum by filtering them into old to new. I have checked couole of threads from 2012 but all of them was blockchain.info (blockchain.com now) and no other web wallet was mentioned over there. You can try checking from here- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=222.1760 If you are lucky enough, you can get some thread on your wallet.

Back then I bought a little bit of BTC every Friday at payday and I mostly used Blockchain.info as the wallet provider but did have wallet providers all over the place is what I guess I mean't to say.I have all my wallet numbers from Blockchain.com and all were checked out as I used the "forgot wallet ID" option there and it sent the list,I had some seed words written down too for who knows what but all have 0 BTC balances so I not concerned about them.

This one has 2.9 BTC which I just can't find the wallet provider I used to type in my email and then use "lost password",if the info gets sent to me I only used 3 passwords that I still remember no probs but need to get the info.

So what I meant to ask is what some wallet providers back then,tried Coinbase and Blockchain.com with no luck,I used 2-3 other ones once and a while to see how they were but like you guys said most are out of business,if that's the case I guess it's not recoverable as I don't have the private key,I never wrote that stuff down I just went to the wallet provider signed in then made a new wallet or sent funds out of one.

As for the wallet I.D number it's no good to me if I don't know what wallet provider to type it into.

When I lost my Blockchain account, it took me months to recover it and the solution was the easiest thing I always ignored: searching for "Bitcoin" in my old e-mail account and sorting the e-mails from old to new. Within a few seconds, I found my backups.

Try looking up "Bitcoin", "Wallet" and "Blockchain" in the e-mail address you have found on your paper. Sort the e-mails from old to new and search. Make sure you keep an eye on the attachments - they could be the savior (like in my case). Good luck
