Believe me this thing has to be there because as it just adds up lot of security. I have read articles about the 2FA which states that it is almost impossible to crack any layer of the 2FA security pass and it could take years and years to do that if smart hacker wanted to do that. Loosing phone isn’t big problem because you can always retrieve things from eh google itself. They can bring the thing up again if you ahem properly went through the security protocol of the google. So one way around you always have an option. Youc an always get the secret eye from the main site so that you want loose a bit of the security instantly. Always remember to keep the back up of these codes. Google authenticator will also allow you to store 100 keys preloaded and you can print them out and store them so that you can still use them later on.

2fa is the most important security feature that anyone should activate. It's the best feature that make me feel assured that my altcoin is very safe. It is commonly used by trader just like me.

2FA make it very hard for hackers to get into your account and prevents brute force attacks. I'd recommend Google authenticator over email or SMS as SMS is not secure an email can be hacked. Your authenticator unique to your device. I take a screenshot of the QR codes and print them out in case I lose my device

Is it better to have 2FA authentication code in your bitcoin site? Ex: Faucets, investments, and wallets?
What is the advantages and disadvantages of having 2FA code in your account? Thanks!

Leave your faucets pal. Even a hacker will not make an effort to steal your 10k sats. Hackers want it bigtime so it's better to activate it on online wallets or on any investments that you have.

Its true the better hackers will target the big hodlers. I do still have dice sites on 2fa though and only have play money amounts on these.  The option is there so i use it.

2FA authentication is much recommended to be set for all the wallets you have. The advantage is the wallet is so secured. Its not hacked up easily. I have not yet experienced any disadvantage of enabling 2FA authendication.
I also use 2FA for all my wallets and all exchange sites where i'm trading. It's very convenient and safe. Just one quick operation with your smartphone, it have not any disadvantages of having 2FA code in your account.

That's very useful when you use 2Fa authentucation for your wallet, even any faucet site or investment, and also in trading. Because when you activate 2FA your account is secure and safe. The advantage of having a 2fa authentication, didnt easily access your account from the hacker.

It is a must whenever there are confidential informations and digital money being stored on the website. It is very important to have 2FA authentication to fully protect the clients information or data and also to increase the security to prevent possible hacking.

2FA is one of the best tools to prevent hackers to even get through to your account. It improves the security of your account by ten folds (probably more)! However, you still have to use a strong password in conjunction with it. Being secure online is the best gift you can give yourself nowadays.

yes of course but ithink some of the faucet has no 2FA authentication .and invesment also.  Only one i know is wallet.  Cause wallet is the most important to have a 2FA authentication to avoid hacker . And according to my experience on Wallet with two factor authentication there are no disadvantage on it indeed its a big help for me to secure my funds.

Your account is more sucured if you do activate 2FA because you can only access the code in your phone. The disadvantage is if your phone will be gone because you need to contact the developer of the site where you do a 2FA and you need a lot of confirmation to clarify that is your account,i experience that in our own wallet

In my experience, every time I have 2FA activated in Google Authenticator, a secret key is given so it will not be a problem even if the phone is lost because I can always restore it in other device as long as I have those key. I tried to install my Google Authenticator in another device and see if it really works and use the secret key and it works. I am worried also before about my phone being lost but this would be the solution. I always activate 2FA in my accounts to have added security on it.

Leave your faucets pal. Even a hacker will not make an effort to steal your 10k sats. Hackers want it bigtime so it's better to activate it on online wallets or on any investments that you have.

Agreed. Personally, I would have just let the hacker to get this "10k sats" than to experience using 2fa on faucets in every days basis. It's too naive to consume much time and effort on verifying your log ins (and what more if you're into hundreds of faucets lol). Anyway, it's rare to see faucets site that actually offer a 2fa. OP shouldn't have listed it.

I have 2FA enabled at freebitco.in and I never use it to log in. It only requires your 2FA code to withdraw funds and change settings, so I don’t have to waste time and effort while logging in and have more security in the site. I have many more satoshis than 10k, by the way, otherwise I wouldn’t have it enabled.

Actually, I’ve got 2FA enabled in 4 sites and only two of them offer that feature: not having to put the code to log in, so you are able to see your balance and how your investments are going, but requiring it for everything else.

I think all sites using 2FA should implement it.

If you are holding a fair amount of bitcoins on a site, you better set up 2fa authentication.

It is a very good resistance against fraud, think about it like that, most of the people has a trojan horse/keylogger on their computer without even knowing, so at a case you don't have any 2fa protection, at the moment you type your password with your private computer, the attacker has all the details he need to hijack your account and steal your money.

If you have 2fa authenticate, the hacker will also need a physical access to your phone, which makes it almost impossible for him to steal your hard worked money.

Yes, because it our best weapon against hackers and I always encounter people complaining that their coins got stole and blaming the exchange sites for everything but when they are asked if they activated 2fa, they all said it is not.

Advantage of having a 2fa authentication is hackers cant easily access your account without the device authenticator that you are using. More security for your account. The disadvantage is when you lose your device you will lose also your account. There is no way that you can access again your account.
Always make backup just request backup in your  authenticator or 2fa software like what i do  i just backup it in my harddrive and my online drive which is free from google but i packed them into  rar file with password..
So if ever my device was stole by thieves or gone i can be still use the backup to open my accounts in the future purposes..

Always enable 2FA for your accounts in exchanges or whenever possible as it adds another layer of security for your account.
Back the alphanumeric code or capture the QR code, store it in an encrypted file. that way, if you lose your phone or change phone, you can easily recover 2FA.

Treat that backup as you would treat your private keys.
