I have doubts about ripple position. It is great coin when you don't look into details but its centralized nature somekinda kills the purpose of having valuable coin. I liked your other choices. Consider omisego too.

for 3-4 months I would broaden the coins you want to invest in if you wanna get big gains, those are solid coins but not neccesarily the growth you're looking for.

Hello,

Well, I'm currently looking at investing 2k Cad funds in alts. Actually have a couple thousands in BTC and it's doing great.

I'm torn between those projects:

-XRP
-IOTA
-OMG
-NEO

open to other suggestions.

looking for a good return (I know it's speculation) for short term (3-4 months).

What would be your pick(s)?
THanks!

Personally not XRP and not IOTA, both are quite dodgey, in fact ripple isn't even a true cryptocurrency. IOTA seem to be promising things that aren't true. Plus both have pumped massively of late so they're unlikely to have a further pump in them. The other two should perform reasonably well I would guess.

XRP is almost the only crypto that has a real use case, working product and great partners behind. Its basically ready to take off.
Since we are talking about investment and not personal feeling, the motivations need to be backed by facts
Among the selection I would really go for XRP and IOTA which we do recently they do made such moves in the market which do signifies that theres really a strong support among these 2 altcoins. Another 2 coins isn't bad either but basing on ranking or on selection then xrp and iota for me. If I do have $2k then 50-50 allocation on both coins. Store it on wallet then forget it and hold it for long term for sure it would pays off.

I am really drawn towards ethlend. They just started to trade on Binance.
Lending has always been big business worldwide and using coins as a collateral in order to secure a loan within a few seconds, versus applying at a bank filling out tons of papers has a certain appeal for me.

In your list I consider ripple as a good investment the other three is you need to analyze and take a long time to observe its price in marketcap so you can estimate how will it dump and pump their price. Ripple I recomend.

I agree with this apart from where you said ripple itsn't a true cryptocurrency. It isn't but why does that effect its value? Something should be valuable because of its use not because it sits in a category, thats the whole reason bitcoin became popular in the first place.

I would sell Ripple and Iota, they are overvalued. You can buy more Neo and Omg or you can add Zrx and Kmd to your portfolio. These coins didn't make their big moves yet. It's easy to pick coins that already priced but you can't make good money with them. If you find unhyped coin that has potential you can make more money.

I have a few that I'm confident are going to grow and some I think are good investments.

What I believe to be eminent jumps:
Spectrecoin is well on its way to becoming the most private coin.  Privacy coins are the future of cryptos (quickly becoming the "now" with all the crackdown happening).  Expect jumps from XSPEC.
Syscoin runs blockmarket which is a decentralized ebay.  When people realize what that means and how utilitarian it is, SYS coin should get a jump.

A Coin I find interesting:
I like the idea of IOTA.  They've created a whole new method of coining their product using tangle.  It's more expensive than it WAS a month ago, but it seems to be a pretty cool.
It's broken the mold of blockchain and I'm curious as to how it will effect cryptos.

Spectrecoin (XSPEC) has been on quite a tear in the past couple days, finally beginning to get some recognition for its first rate privacy tech, groundbreaking features, and low total supply.  I expect this coin to keep climbing in the coming weeks and months, as Version 1.4 is due out any day now, the Bisq listing is coming with the next Bisq software update, and Version 2.0, due out Q1 2018, will introduce several exciting new privacy and ease-of-use features, including the first ever stealth staking.

This is one coin which holds strong promise for life changing returns in the long run.  At less than $1 per coin, this coin is a steal; at less than $5, it is a bargain.  If you buy some now and sell after four months, you will probably be happy with your gains, but in a year or two you'll be crying when you see the gains you've missed Wink

Wait, what the fuck? You are suggesting this guy to invest in a coin that has been created from nothing? From the air? It is worth one satoshi, do you really think that investing in there isn't risky?

2) eXperience - 0.00000001 BTC (+39.03%) - Volume (24h)    $2 248 54 USD  Shocked \ 126.34 BTC  -

Dont pay attention to this if you do not want to lose your funds quickly.

I have never heard about this coin before, this is pretty weird, why are you suggesting him only strange coins? They are pretty risky.

If you really want to make profit, just invest in the best altcoins, not in that crap

Roadmap: https://www.aeron.aero/

So this could really solve a problem and the industry is huge.
Look at the marketcap at about 4 million: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/aeron/
It is already listed at binance.

So, what I am thinking is that if there ever comes news of partnerships with any major airline this would go nuts, 100x instantly.

Do your own research, I suggest you read the whitepaper.
It could be worth a shot.

Yeah i think NEO is a good pick. I would also suggest:

Waves
Shift
Zcoin
Vertcoin
Lisk

Shift is kind of an underdog right now so still very cheap. If you believe in Lisk, you will be happy to hear that they share some of their team members.
Zcoin & Vertcoin both performed strong already in the past months but still have a lot of potential to grow.

Your pics are good, but if I were you, I would wait a week or two because all altscoins gained a lot of bitcoin value in last couple of days. So now their prices are on top of before.

I think your right and feel like it's not the best time to get in. Will wait for one week before buying cad-ltc and then ltc to 2 alts that I'm still debating. I Feel like I'll go for OMG but still torn for the second pick.

OMG - altough it just reached a new ATH, if you're good at trading maybe you can find a good entry point
TNT - undervalued
SONM - same as above
MSP - finally reached BTC price support levels between 550-600 sats, i feel that it is now a buy... but DYOR and T/A!!!
KMD - super solid coin.
ELIX - my hidden gem, long term HODL, look into it... active Devs and community, stable price at 0.20-0.25 USD

Facts are more efficient than fud

IOTA seem to be promising things that aren't true.

Like what?

Nice to have opinions, but don't try to pass them off as facts.

Until the end
Komodo Platform - KMD - gives 5% interest per year, they are having their first dICO soon, atomic swaps, active development and lots more.

Bitcore - BTX - currently giving a 4% airdrop every Monday. It goes up 1% each month until the coins run out, probably June-ish 2018.

If you are a risk-taker look at some of the high POS coins that have tanked like HOLD and EMB.  Warning - no high POS coin has really been able to last long.  People get in early and get out leaving lots of people holding bags.
