I'm also looking to start using Ripple. I've been an BTC enthusiast since 2011 when I first joined, and am also looking to get out of the newb section.

Anyway, I'm happy to send it right back. My address is: rPoxdM6fs7Aymu459iXmcYCSDTNXH9Zhc

Thanks in advance!

Ah, it was due to launching the site via a proxy. It works fine on my phone so the websocket is probably blocked via the work proxy!

Hey Mike, as long as your helping newbies like us gets our Ripples open, I wouldn't mind the help, if you still willing.

Finally got it to work. I had a problem where I initially set the Trust line to bitstamp to 20 USD. However, I had intended to set BTC, so I set that. But then I couldn't trade because I didn't have enough "reserve" setting the trust line for bitstamp USD back to 0 caused that one to go away then I had enough "reserve" that I could place an order to convert the BTC to XRP.

Thanks for the help. Smiley

Added it to my signature.

Odd thing, a few minutes after you sent me the 300, it dropped down to 299.9999999

I added BitStamp as a "trusted" user but accidentally added them as USD, when I wanted to add them as BTC. But, now I can't trust them with BTC because I don't have 300 XRP (Apparently 300 != 299.999999, but we'll leave that discussion for another day.) Can you help again?

Right, well I understand I can trade BTC for ripples, just trying to figure out how more can be earned, or won.

I saw the thread for the 'free giveaways' but I don't see anything active.

In any case, thanks for the help. I've gotten the 300 now so I can set up "trust" with bitstamp and transfer some bitcoin over to xrp. So I'll probably do that.

Good luck to you Grin  Whenever you get the chance, put your BTC address into your sig; make good responses to conversation and you're bound to get some tips.

Someone will probably trade you some BTC for it.  The people who made Ripple are supposed to be distributing it but I believe their restrictions prevent new accounts from attaining ripples (to prevent abuse, which isn't working, since bots collected a ton of them.)
