The colorful ones are pretty good  Nice and clean looking design but not perfect yet.

The original logo had no snake heads, and was not the Caduceus or Rod of Aesculapius. It was meant to be a helix. The helix is what I want to see

Nice coin image mymenace.   More versions of that and/or a 3D render would be welcome if you want to, anyway I like the coin image a lot, not so sure on the logo.

Yep it's not at all a requirement, anything goes! 

I'm anyway not sure if pink alone is a good choice. Sure, cancer is big area where a cure is need and many projects go this direction. But there is also other areas (e.g. Alzheimer's) not "covered" by pink.

One concern with the Pink - a few years ago, most things involving the color Pink and the word Cure were drawing lawsuits from the Susan G Komen foundation. I've no way of knowing if they're still being litigious or not, but it's worth considering.

Great designs so far - there are going to be a lot of choices.

PLEASE NOTE:

When designing a logo please note the difference between the Caduceus and the Rod of Asclepius.

2 snakes on a stick = Caduceus. This is what most people are using. It is the symbol of Mercury/Hermes. God of tricksters and thieves, bankers and merchants.

1 snake on a stick =  Asclepius. This is a symbol of healing and medicine.

Please don't use them blindly and be aware of the meaning.

The pink in the logo is ok, the pink in the text looks too dark for me. Don't need to be pink as in Pink Panther but a bit brighter ?

I like the C with the folded person inside: that's the topic of folding and cure. Maybe the color need some tweak ?

it's not correct to use the double snake logo, the single snake logo is more correct

however, double helix is a symbol for DNA, so how about a logo with the double helix instead?

Just an idea:
It'd be more PR-friendly if the symbol was not based on a coin, but on a pill/tablet instead, i.e. having the emphasis not on 'COIN' but on 'CURE'.

Also after looking at my previous efforts for a day or so, this occurred to me



...since there's nothing wrong with the original coin logo reeeeaaally.

I'm in no way belittling your effort, but this guy looked so stock-photo-ish that it took about a minute to google him.



...And since i work with stock images often, I know the shutterstock image license doesn't cover an image being reproduced more than 2500 times, and other redistibution-in-part restrictions are in there too, all of which nixes the use of their images for coin logos.

An original design involving a 3d human and protein chains would be most tasty though. I wanted to render protein coils in 3D for my design, but the numerous images from Stanford's folds proved material enough.

Yes voting will probably take place in July or after there are enough good entries and people start calling for the vote to take place.  No hard dates set yet.  If we get some really promising entries sooner, the vote will happen sooner.

Wise before the announce thread becomes full of replies quoting images.

The Curecoin community has raised a bounty of 300CURE (and counting!) for a new logo and coin image design.  That's approximately $250 (0.5btc) at current exchanges rates (0.0016CURE on bittrex).  This is a call for design entries.  You can post your entries here in this thread and receive feedback.

Both 2D and 3D renders are welcome.  The winnings may be split, with 50 of the Cure going to the entry in 2nd place if there is a second very strong entry we wish to use.

A few ideas from me (not requirements at all, just suggestions):
- Something cutting edge, yet cuddly and symbolic of healing.
- Gold or silver to represent value.  Maybe pink as it's used in cancer fundraising campaigns.
- Appears solid and tangible/weighty, not like a tiddlywink or a game currency.
- Perhaps if it was made slightly spherical, but still with flat faces on each side (spherical between the faces) to make it look 'generously plump', would be a unique look.
 - Has a symbol of healing or medicine, such as the DNA double helix or the symbol use on the current coin design.

I'd advise finding out about Curecoin before starting a design from the main Curecoin thread, you can also see the current coin image there.
