I am very glad that the CureCoin project is alive and developing, unfortunately a similar SETI@home project has completed its life cycle and project developer Eric Korpela announced that all SETI@home servers have been disabled and removed from the Berkeley lab. Sad

Does anyone have a list of exchanges this coin is listed on currently? Just found an old wallet.dat and trying to download the QT. Any idea what is the size of the curecoin blockchain? I dont want to waste too much time if its not worth the effort! Smiley

Currently, Bittrex has the highest curecoin volume ... but here's the full list: https://curecoin.net/knowledge-base/exchanges/

You will probably need to upgrade to the Curecoin 2.0.0.x wallet (if you haven't already)

why do it have chinese word on the logo ?

Another chinese coin ?

Old thread, new response...

The founders are based out of the Rust Belt and the Southwest of the US ... CygnusXI's grandmother is a Reiki Master (a Japanese art of energy healing); he put that symbol there in her honor.

Cheers!

I would not put my shaft in this smelly pussy.

Appreciate the brutal critique - you don't have to use the entire shaft - the tip will do. It actually does help fund folder's electricity bills and equipment maintenance so more science can get done.

There's a new folding pool in beta, and an updated blockchain on the 2022 horizon. A lot of plans change due to unforeseen circumstances; the proposed VBK integration complicated original trajectory(ies) but the token, as is, still works for its original intended purpose.

Don't know why this got deleted as off-topic last year, but here it is again (to moderators ... "The Curecoin Project" is Curecoin's 501c3 charitable arm (sponsored by Visions Made Viable) and I am the charity manager:

Curecoin Overall Donations to Charitable Causes Topped $48,000 Since Inception (over 40 charities have benefited from our system)

2021 Donation Update...

Thank you donors of #Curecoin, especially Mr. Ed Olkkola for helping make many of these gifts possible...

No deving whatsoever, welching on promises, backpedaling. Spats and scuffles around every corner and couple that with total still with respect to the development. Oh wait I mentioned that a sec back. Not sure if it makes sense to continue sticking to it. Would u treat it with updates when u know worth of the whole undertaking is debatable? Why I popped off is because it is ur ineptitude that disappointed ur highly fanatical stan boys invested in this joke. I would not put my shaft in this smelly pussy.

No KYC.  Bitcoin-based altcoin exchange.  Fees are 0.2% flat.  Affiliate system pay 50% of exchange fees + 100% on all faucet hits (self affiliating is allowed, only 1 account though)

I've tested deposits and withdrawals, both are super smooth.

3 confirmations required

2 CURE fee to withdrawal

Tomorrow we will add CURE to our Faucet and then do the final touch-ups (like adding CURE to the footer and front page).

Just a reminder curecoin is on Exchange Shut Down
It's at a higher price then on bittrex but shoreline has no KYC, low withdraw fees and the person who runs it is active on the forum.

I have poked around getting it listed on other exchanges since livecoin.net exit scammed but no luck so far.

Curecoin Team Member Produced Quick Start Guides

We’ve had feedback from would-be participants, that our Knowledge Base tutorials, FAQs and detailed instructions are a bit intimidating (since we try to cover ALL caveats in one document - including merge-folding which is not included here).

Rather than rework our legacy articles which are still very useful, we’ve started a collection of fan-produced videos which make getting started with Folding@home and Curecoin simple, fun and entertaining. While these may not cover every possible scenario, or everything that might go wrong during setup – they will put you on the fast track to start earning CURE tokens with Folding@home.

Folding Pool Distributions are Caught Up (and Curecoin Website Updated)

Many folders have experienced delayed Curecoin distributions over the past couple of weeks. The problem with the folding pool has been identified, folder database rebuilt, and you should be seeing distributions arriving in your wallet again. We apologize for this delay in processing.

CygnusXI stated:

"Normal operation have resumed" and "I have been making a lot of backend updates going live with this patch. Enhanced stat tracking and history will be added to the folding pool [page], along with a much cleaner stats dashboard … main bug fix with the pool right now should be resolved … lots of work has gone into [the pool] this year, prepping for upcoming modernization efforts… and for those who chose the cloud folding option"

While you're checking your wallet balance, please also check out our updated website at www.curecoin.net … there's still some lose ends [legacy blog and PR releases need to be re-created in the new format], but we think you'll enjoy the new look. Fold On!

if you are still experiencing a deficit in your wallet, please join the Curecoin Discord: https://discord.gg/jtztkFZ (perma-link) ... make sure you verify your account first in the #verify-here channel: Use c/verify then enter your concern in the #support channel ...

I'm hoping CURE doesn't go the way of folding coin (FLDC) which I just looked up on coinmarketcap and found it to be 'delisted' which I take to mean that it's completely dead.
Foldingcoin is not completely dead, they need help with migrating to another blockchain. Here is a quote from their discord channel:

We would like to resume distributions (and do make up distributions) once we have moved off BTC, but there is no ETA for this, and lots of work is needed to make that happen. I currently don't have time to do everything myself on top of my full-time job that has only gotten worse with corporate mergers where I work and the pandemic.

Exactly, there have been a lot of coins that have been delisted that have either come back or are slowly coming back.
It's a lot of work for both the developers and the supporters of the coin. Remember the 1st post in this thread is close to 7 years old at this point.

The foldingcoin thread ( https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-foldingcoin-mine-for-medicine-phase-20-781352 ) is a little bit younger and the last post was a year ago but as xandry pointed out they are still posting in discord.

Both coins will continue to move along so long as we as a community continue to support them.

-Dave

There are lots of better coins, useful coins, that never got traction because their users do not spam the public with nonsense, as supporters of nonproductive coins do.

Maybe a solution is to form a consortium/mafia of productive algorithm coins, some online space where that type of coin is encouraged, like an exchange that trades only useful algorithm coins.

As far as I know the only exchange that offers some guidance to new users with respect to the 'objective' quality of a coin is Kucoin, and they have been successful.

~

The digital economy is not one coin, and no group of supporters of one coin are going to move forward unless they use some sort of strategy.

Whether they use a scammy pump strategy, like bitcoin, ethereum, monero etc, or a more long term strategy, like forming a consortium such as an exchange, there has to be something.
