I get it that you like nvidia cards but we are comparing 5700 that costs about 300 to a 2080 that costs almost double to a 3080 that costs double and is a next gen card, if you think thats fair ground i also disagree with that.

2080 used to cost $699, now you can find for $300 or less. 5700 is around $400 at moment, dont see anybody selling it cheaper and just for clarification, I'm not an nvidia supporter, I support my own wallet and I say how i see things, if you read my posts then you would know that. So my statement still true, rx 5700 is good only for ethash and nothing else.

On kawpow  it does 28 mhs, after ethash thats the most profitable algo, let me know which algos you think are relevant and ill run it.

yeah it can probably do that if pushes further on overclocking + lots more watts, I saw a 26 using 220 watts. 2080 can do 26.5 190 watts. See how 5700 is only good on ethash.

I disagree with you that 5700 are only good on ethash, ever since teamredminer was made  5700 was on par with 2080 in hashrate in most of the important algorithms.

Please give me examples because what I see on whattomine is 2080 spanking it on every algo. The only algo I see it better is eth, all other algos it loses by a large margin.

so guys any feasible alternatives to the 3080 or RADEON VII at the moment ??... or should i wait for the 3090 ?...

High end models no, midrange there is the 5700 but pay attention that 5700 is only good on eth and block rewards will be halved few times this year. So I would not touch rx 5700. Well buying eth will make your money at least 3 to 5 times in this bullrun.

3090 FE on the way here.  What miner client is in use in the photograph above?  Need to do some research on the best one to look at using.

They were $499 for a long time at Best Buy and Newegg.  The XFX ones dipped a few times on newegg to $350 to clear stock when no one was buying GPU's.

Yeah price history backs you up on the $499 for xfx, not $350, all other models stayed around $700.

I am not sure why to pay for 3080, when I can buy two RADEON VII cards for that price, which have 100Mh/s each...

Maybe in 2019 when they were $350 a pop on newegg new.

really? radeon vii was always $699, hbm2 is expensive

Doh, might be like gen 1 1070s that kept burning out.

$699 and they are not using good components, it reminds me the days of the gt 8800, the early adopters suffered a lot. Imagine paying 70k for a gpu on ebay and issues like this makes you to rma the card only to know you can't ehhe

Well for starters the 3080 costs $699 NEW...you cant buy a VII used for under $700 if you check ebay.  Amazon wants $1300 and Newegg has no offering.
So for your case 2 of the vii's will cost you $1400 to get total 200mh/s....and you are getting used.  For $1400 you can get 2 NEW cards which do 120mh/s each....so 40mh/s more with warranty.....

What are you babbling about again?

I saw one of my friend in facebook posted his hashrate result using 3080 and it was amazing because he got 100MH in a single card,  The RTX 3090 24gb w/ 120mh/s per card mining Ethereum. First it was the RTX 3080 10gb card with 100mh/s per card.
