Day 2 done.

Uk seems very strong so far while USA got destroyed both from ITA and UK.

They have a lot of problems with low wind.

I think its very difficult to bet on these, They are normally run over quite a number of legs.

I like these races but I dont get to view them much.

The boats are indeed technical wonders using the latest most up to date materials and technology available.

Is anyone playing along with this, I have played on VirtualRegatta.com before on the "Volvo Ocean Race"

Ineos team UK was supposed to be the weaker team  Grin, they destroyed the USA while with Luna Rossa was a closer fight.

I wonder who bets on this as I am pretty sure most sportbooks both in Fiat or crypto world do not offer such option as very few people are interested in this kind of sport.

I have never watched any of these races but as is the case in many sports the weaker teams gives us surprises.

These new boats are new indeed, the AC75, but they're still foilers, "flying" over the water. With a single hull though, so it's even stranger. They must be exciting to sail for sure, excitment coming also from adrenaline, as if things go badly wrong, you could easily get very hurt or killed. They can go past 50Kts, that's more than 90Km/h !

It's too bad there are so few contenders.

I have experience sailing mostly cruisers, so less exciting, but I've done a couple of weeks of Hobie 16, and when there is a good wind and you're on the trapeze it's really fun.

Prada Cup in the past was called as... Louis Vuitton Cup ! Grin

I love to watch these races despite live streaming are transmitted during the night (italian time).
But it is something spectacular to watch! these are the fastest boat of the whole planet!
In Italy there are few fans since one of the teams it is from here "Luna Rossa" and normally there are regular update by national media.

In the final part of the World Series, a round-robin called Chirsmats Cup has been deleted for low wind.
The competition will go hot next month with the start to the interesting part, called PRADA cup.

The winner of the Prada Cup will challenge the defender of the Title.

It is amazing to see these "boats" fly over the water without engines attached.
I believe that such "toy" should be worth almost as much as an F1 car.

It's a pity that this sport isn't so popular in Brazi ... although there are national competitions, the media doesn't give attention to it, I love watching everything that involves speed combined with some machine.

Regular sailboats are already very fast making them race boats don't really make sense to me but since this is sports not luxury stuff I guess I can understand. f1 don't really make sense to me neither. I have never understood watching f1 games. It is just not fun watching the cars speeding through xx+ laps. It must be very fun for the drivers though (and captains)

Small update of the situation.
Team New Zeland won the preparation event called World Series.

Tomorrow we have a "round robin event" called Chrismas race and it will be the last time when we can see the title defender in the see until March.

No, been following this sports for many years, and as far I know, this sailing yachts race have been here for centuries now.

I haven't bet on it though, So Luna Rosa will be the challenger, this yacht has been sailing since 2000 and obviously, it has been upgraded so that it can compete again.

@mindrust - there's also a Louis Vuitton cup  Grin, this companies sponsored this sporting event.

New Zealand yacht though are so dominant in this race.

Maybe.  Cool I learned this cup's existence right now from your thread.

Don't tell me like this.
Those boats are like the f1 of water with no engines even with the wind in the face.

They used to change boats every cup to find innovation and decrease the risk.

The most spectacular was 2 cups ago.

Those kinds of boat could fly in the water, literally

Those boats were unreal, just to put in perspective, look at one man random size and compare it to the boat.

Over 60km/h without an engine, and slow wind, absrud.

However boats this year are completely different.
