this is not an 3D printer but an CNC machine programmed to mill one mayor part of the AR15 rifle anyone making this would still have to find a barrel, stock and magazine for this gun.

I can imagine that in some countries this would not be a problem but in most countries it would be a hard task finding a barrel or magazine for this..

crazy thing is that he sold 175! of these machines in the first 24 hours they were on the market.

We will most certainly reserve our right to develop actual functional, reusable polymer guns though, to deal with governments preparing to democide or otherwise solely disarm non-aggressors, for our bloodshed.

Barr gettin it passed the metal detector.. it's still cheaper to buy a gun, 250-300 smackers here..

I don't see what the big deal is. Why bother with a useless one-shot weapon when you can build a Sten submachine gun instead? For history, the Sten was invented in World War II when the British suddenly needed to produce a shitload of weapons in a very short period of time. With no time to train gunsmiths or retool factories, they designed a submachine gun that could be built by a machinist of average skill using ordinary tools. Meaning you could build one of these in your garage if you wanted to. Guess how many people do? Not that many, as it turns out.

Im sure that you can make a gun with a 3-D printer. Maybe not with the ones commercially available, but people are damned smart. If there is a will there is a way. I dont agree with the a 3d gun because its use if for only one thing, to get by metal detectors, so I hope that detectors will be able figure that one out. Maybe they will be able to scan for gun powder. 3D printing is cool, It will drive costs down and help to bring items to market quicker. But, im sure as hell not in favor of a 3D printed gun.

Why would you go to all the trouble to 3D print a gun, 3D print a single round of ammo, that won't even be effective, when you can 3D print a fucking bomb (in the shape of a common object) that will actually work?

Personally, I dont think the gov would let gun blueprint's online unless they wanted them there..

And as for casino's, once you got your 'limit' before you get caught, you'd surely have made enough?
