ouch bro, reading your story hurts. I cannot imagine that feeling, I do not know how to help you, But I wish you the best of luck on getting back your BTC. You deserve it. Maybe to talk some more experienced users on this forum and they can give you some tips on what to do? Be careful though, you cannot trust everyone on this forum. so keep that in mind when you decide to give the details of your case to someone. Best of luck

Really? He asked 19th November and there is no respond after then.
I don't think he is still caring anything anymore. He said something, but dozens of our valued forum members predicted it, but he didn't even have the courtesy to answer it. I mean, never mind, even he doesn't care about it that much.

Did you sent that 0.4 BTC erroneously or you did it in purpose but the funds did not apear in your account. If its erroneously, how come you are just reporting it today. You should have spoken about it right away when you see that theres a problem with the funds that you sent. Can you also post screen shots of your transactions, like transaction IDs. Your post needs more details so that readers can comprehend what the issue is all about.
OP didn't sent 0.4 btc, instead he has sent 0.04 btc around 3 years ago in satoshi dice. You can see many people mentioned on first page about his transaction
He also already tried to contact them since 3 years ago but he didn't get any answer until now

Maybe he has sent to old address which hasn't used anymore on satoshidice (he didn't check it first)

Is there any proof that this was a winning bet since it was onchain? I don't remember how the bets were handled back in those days. It was probably based off the hashed block. There should be some way to check whether it was a win or not.

It was based on a daily secret value hashed with the TX ID. It was not based on a block because it was instant zero confirmation game. But the daily secrets are no longer available on the website so it's impossible to verify the bets. Maybe someone archived the secrets but then you would have to trust the archive. I don't think the effort would be worth it tho. OP isn't really interested in this, just posted the thread and disappeared can't even get the amount right.

I searched and couldn't find any database of this hashed secret value. Even tried the wayback machine,
https://web.archive.org/web/20160915000000*/satoshidice.com

It has an entry for June 9th 2016 when the bet was taken but unfortunately got some error 302 when trying to load the website.

And I guess since the OP posted this on Nov 19th and was last active on Nov 19th then it doesn't really seem that important to him. Who knows, maybe when BTC hits $20K he will return to this thread and try to get his 0.04BTC back.

Its better to create another thread on scam accusion then provide a proof that you got scam by this satoshi dice, then people can discuss about your problem because this 0.4 btc is a huge money, you also mentioned about that you already contacting the support but its appears that its never chat back on you.

In fact the OP did not send 0.4 BTC to the Satoshi dice, but only 0.04 BT and did not present other evidence.

OP transaction
https://www.blockchain.com/btc/tx/f8ca704cc3c877d8e8bef695414ee8953eeda2a1d9179a0f772499895e55d27d

Nice catch that is just 0.04BTC not 0.4BTC as the OP claiming it is clear in the transaction maybe he is not familiar with onchain casinos there is nothing hide.

It's possible that there was a bug and he wasn't paid however the problem is that Satoshidice switched owner once or twice since then from what I recall. Megadice is the current owners however they also seem very inactive in these forums. But you might as well contact them. You should of done this years ago however because most likely since the owners changed hands then any debt owed might not be transferred to the new owners but stay with the old owners.

I guess he is bringing this up now since 0.04BTC wasn't worth much back then but now it's worth almost $400 and he wants it back. Basically a good way to hodl. If he gets it back.

I am not sure that the satoshidice will return the money back, because this is a long-standing problem and has just been reclaim again. We don't even know the proof, whether @OP received the deposit at the time or not, even he only gave a tx address to track the deposit.

And maybe the satoshidice has also lost its user data, so this will be difficult to verify the case. But better, this case was transferred to the reputation section.

And from what i remember if your bet wins they send the money back plus the profit, but if the bet lose then you don't get anything back.

Satoshi Dice and other similar gambling sites of the time responded with a payment to the originating address to acknowledge the transaction, whether the bet won or not. There is no corresponding acknowledgement to the transaction linked in this thread because the game was shut down about a week prior.

The owners of the game rebranded as MegaDice in 2017. They may still have ownership of that address.

I tried to track the BTC @OP ending at this address, and this address was active the last time in August, possibly the old owner was no longer active.

Which dice site do you deposit your .4btc? There are many dice site out there and mentioning one which has been closed will help the community identify it for further investigation.

He did mention the site name already but it can be confusing for other who have never heard about satoshidice as he write it separately "satoshi dice".
The only way to get his money back is by contacting the support, although satoshidice is a DAPP site now but if there is no ownership changing since the date OP sent the bitcoin then there should be still a way to get the money back.

Looks like he really sent the coin: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.16039442

But the Date on the address reads: 2016-06-10, meaning he sent the coin 3 years ago and not 2. I think he should get the date right to make finding his coin easier for satoshi dice owners. He probably should create a new topic on reputation section and describe in detail what really happened, with evidences to back them up.

2 years? This doesn't make sense. Did you send that amount 2 years ago or did you send partial amounts which add up to 0.4 BTC through out this duration op? Either way, this was a stupid move since there are far more legit sites out there in comparison.

Try contacting https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/satoshidicepr-116564 who handles their thread in this forum(He has not been that active lately though).

"lately"? He hasn't come online for 6 months now! Tongue
Well, judging by the OP's inability to write a more full post with details, he's either is lying for unknown reasons (he doesn't look so angry tbh!) or he's just stupid. But I would expect competing site to create newbie accounts just to FUD on other sites.
Probably happened two years ago then he just suddenly shared it today perhaps he's too tired of asking their support to return his funds or he's just making up some shit story to make a bad reputation on the site. But it doesn't makes sense too since he just said that the site was closed/closing already. I don't know what's the truth either.

why would you send money to the site that hasn't paid you the first time?
they have been out of business for quite a while  I don't even know people who would bet on chain nowadays
your regular casinos give you a better deal - account , fast bets, support etc. etc.
I guess your money is lost now , but it is partially your fault , all you can do now is to contact their support and open a scam accusation if you do not hear from them

If i'm not wrong satoshi dice was that onchain game where you could pay dice just by making a bitcoin transaction. And from what i remember if your bet wins they send the money back plus the profit, but if the bet lose then you don't get anything back. what i assume is that you lost those bets and that's why you never get the money back.

But if you still want to contact them, remember to send them the transaction ID as a reference, that will help.

You should be clear if you do have just simply deposit and untouched those funds? or you have lost your bet into that site?

Its hard to predict if you wont elaborate more on what do you really mean about that satoshidice never returned your funds.

If you look at the year when he made that post, it all makes sense actually. BTC value was around $600 back in 2016 which is why his 0.04 BTC is now worth 0.4 BTC at current rates($8500) which is why this is not a typo.

That's not how exchange rate works. 0.04 BTC is still 0.04 BTC.

The TX ID provided by the OP two years ago shows 0.04 BTC:

https://www.blockchain.com/btc/tx/f8ca704cc3c877d8e8bef695414ee8953eeda2a1d9179a0f772499895e55d27d

It was sent to 1dice97EC address, so it's on-chain bet. Unfortunately the bets are not provably fair so it's unclear if it's a winning bet. The chance to win was 49% if i remember well.

Maybe you lost the bet?

@OP can be. If you have all details A-Z with TX and provable address ownership then I see no reason why they wouldn't return your 0.4 BTC (if it was accounted for in their system it would come up as unsettled).

If it was lost exactly 2 years ago i'd suggest sending BitcoinVideoPoker a pm since they're the only ones related to Satoshidice that are active recently.

The time and date when they announced they're taking over satoshidice seem to fit in with your issue.

Regarding SatoshiDice all we can say at present is that people can stay tuned for a new website at Satoshidice.com  CoolSmiley

Not sure how OP asking for back fund. If sent fund to their address means it will not return if you lost. It wasn't like something deposit system, by sending fund you had participated to the game. Most likely you lost your fund on gambling. Because, I have notice they required standard wallet where you have controls of your address. They will send back wining odds to from where you sent fund if in case win.
There was a user that had problems with deposit before maybe OP is experiencing the same thing, did a deposit while the ownership was being transferred.

The website has changed without an announcement and I had funds on my account.
How do I withdraw this?

Remember to do this only from wallets that let you receive coins from the address you sent them from (standard wallet, or blockchain.info wallet, both work great - if unsure about your wallet, test with a tiny amount and if you never get a payment back, then your wallet is incompatible).
So there is no chance to get back your fund since I believe you lost it on gambling. Another thing is, odds didn't backed to sent address.

It looks like this is their ANN thread: SatoshiDICE.com - The World's Most Popular Bitcoin Game.

But then again, that thread looks dead to me, even SatoshiDICE_PR hasn't log on for the last six months or so.

Sorry to break the bubble for you, but there's a slim (to none) chance that you get back your .04 BTC from SatoshiDice.

You talked about your BTC not being returned, by a dice site that is here.
It's been almost 2 years, why only now are you acting here.
Why the Newbie account that you display here, where is your main account.

On the bitcointalk forum, if you accuse the site of being dishonest, you must include valid evidence that matches your loss in gambling, dice etc.

However, for the moment you don't provide the evidence that you show at all, it's not easy for people to trust you, here is a lot of crap, what else on gambling sites.
So now you can give us proof of your loss. Do not talk nonsense.

Although the rank of this member is Newbie, this is a very old account, older than many hero and legendary members here.

Upon reviewing his old posts, I can see that he already raised this valid concern with SatoshiDICE.com more than a couple of years ago, in fact more than 3 years ago. He even included a TXID. However, it seems the amount was actually 0.04BTC and not 0.4BTC as claimed in the OP.

He made several attempts to get the attention of SatoshiDICE.com but apparently he got no response to his concern. I can see a very little chance that he will be attended to more than 3 years later.

you should clarify post about satoshidice because right now it is too vague to give a proper answer.
anyway, the gambling site has had a fair amount of scam accusation about them in the past in this forum. so if the OP's post turned out him not being able
to withdraw from the website I won't be surprised.

For the last 2 years, sent .4 BTC to satoshi dice betting address before they disabled it. They never returned it. I've tried contacting them many time. I will probably never see this money again.
If the site that you are mentioning already closed then there's no chance to recover those btc that you send to their wallets
the last bet made in their website was an hour ago so it is clear that the website is still running but their representative in the forum has been inactive for six months.

also according to this thread(What happened to SatoshiDice), the website seems to have great service back 2013/2014 but was sold and everything went down after that.

He must have sent it partially accumulated for 2 years. By that time he should've gauge or even have known by himself if the site is legitimate or not. You should've posted screenshot as post or reference for your post and contact the admin or their thread here. If you hadn't had any problem before your address qas diaabled there is a bug chance that their site had closed and there might be no way to get your money. If the site that you are mentioning already closed then there's no chance to recover those btc that you send to their wallets, no one will
assist you, you don't have any choice but to accept that mistake and move on, it's stressful to remember those huge amount of money
but again if the site that you are referring was closed for business nothing left for you but to accept the reality. That's why is always better
to play with reputable gambling house as chances of being closed is smaller than those who are not fully established.

On which site did you sent 0.4 BTC to play the dice ?
Did you play with that money ? It might be that you played and lost all. You need to provide a little more details if you need any good suggestion.
