For Slush members wondering what is going on with threshold delayed payments...

"Typically, the pool sends confirmed rewards which are over threshold to users every hour.

For security reasons, the server's hot wallet (keeping funds immediately available for payouts) has quite a low balance. When the hot wallet becomes empty, the pool administrator has to load the wallet from the cold storage (a highly secured offline computer keeping pool's bitcoins). Since this process cannot be automated and only very limited number of people has an access to cold wallet, it can introduce a few hours' delay in sending coins to user's wall

hi all

it seems to be that we become the same problem as last week!!!

at least the 3 last confirmed blocks 278659, 278676 and 278690 gone confirmed in stats. but don't move from unconfirmed reward to confirmed reward

*edit*

lol same time posting i see it on the last 3 blocks dont know if it also before

Hi! Can somebody tell me why blocks #278690   #278676 #278659 #278652 is confirmed but in my account payment for this blocks is still unconfirmed?

It happened last week too, something about the payout account getting to low so the whole payment systems halts until BTC is added. Don’t know if that is the case here but that is what happened last week I believe. It was sorted out after about a day. I have only been around here a couple of weeks but so far everything always gets sorted out.
then we have to check every reward on this pool?! every time?

well I would check any pool because honest mistakes happen. You should always be looking out for yourself and not trusting someone else will do it for you. Just my opinion.
The same situation happened a few days ago.  It was probably due to limited BTC in the 'hot wallet' used for reward payments, so these were 'frozen' until that was rectified.  You may raise a ticket on the support site for Slush (as I did), while I don't doubt the honesty of this pool, it certainly has its share of 'hiccups', which is why it makes sense to closely monitor reward confirmations/payments etc.

Cheers

my confirmed reward is stuck again. Blocks 278652, 278659, 278676, and 278690 are confirmed and still only show in my unconfirmed total and will not transfer to my confirmed total. Anyone else seeing this?

Yes.    I was waiting payment when 278676 was confirmed but all reward count numbers are staying the same.

Payout reduces about 50% per month   http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/
If that's the case, then your basically saying someone with say 1Th (or any hash be it higher or lower) after a good long while will earn 0 which is not true, since everyone, regardless of the pool your in and regardless of your hash rate still earns something.

No.
Mudbankkeith is saying nothing like that.
You're only denying your own statement. :-)

Yes, everyone still earns something.
And as the time still hasn't reached infinity ;-) , there's still some reward for everybody with some (non-zero) hash rate.

But the reward can drop below value which is usable for withdrawals. One can for example make 0.00001 BTC per day on average. This is still "some" reward", but you will get minimal 0.01 BTC payment after 3 years. You can also hit reward rate such as 1 Satoshi per day, per week, per month....

It sure can. I've been responding to MBW's contradiction between zero earning in a good long while and everyone still earning something.
And the payout limit drops as the exchange rate is rising.

As in the Dichotomy paradox.

No.

[edit]
Although it also might involve "nearly infinite" sequence, this is no paradox. Just a long sequence. With a beginning, and with ordinary decreasing order. The infinite row of Dichotomy paradox even has no first element. Which is part of the paradox.
Anyone can compare:

So the "pool luck" figures under the stats page can't be correct, can they? We've had some long rounds and it's actually showing higher luck than earlier today, something seems off with that. Any insights?

The luck figures don't factor in the current round.  Additionally old rounds will roll off the luck figure sometimes leading to an inflated percentage being displayed (such as when there was a 22 hour block one day and the luck was showing something absurd like 190% because there were only 2 short blocks actually being used to calculate the 24-hour luck).

This is not an optimal approach, I'm afraid. The 24 hour period should be taken into account somehow. Maybe the current round could be also counted. That way there would be three rounds, one of them 20+ hours, in last 24 hours, and that wouldn't give such a high luck... :-)

Question - I am relatively new to this all, and I have been mining only with Slush's pool since the beginning of September. I started with a GPU miner at first, then I added 9 ASIC block errupters, and then about a month ago I added a 10g blade. My MHash/s rates are as follows:
GPU = 615 Mhash/s
9 Block Erruptors = 3,050 Mhash/sec
1 Blade = 10,331 Mhash/s

I notice at first I seem to get a decent payout, but it decreases over time. I recently switched to a Raspberry Pi unit to cut down on the power consumption (powered by one of the hubs) and I noticed I am now averaging around 0.00058202 as a Payout for each round, where as for a while I was at about 0.00100000. Is the difference the amount of people/devices mining the same pool or is something else going on? Should I expect it to drop down much more? Or is it just always going to get lower and I just need to keep adding?

Sorry if this is not the right place for this kind of questions

Also, not to point out the obvious, but wanted to add the profit forecasts on genesis block do a full year outlook but only in terms of present value, which really doesn't seem (even slightly) applicable given the volatility of BTC.
