I used to throw more GPU hashing power until I realized GPU on bitcoin is almost out now and that I ran out of space... Luckily USB ASIC came and helped me now. 40% of my hashing is from those Sapphire USB ASICs

I only have five workers but I made it to where all the computer are running stable for weeks on ends.

How much hashing power do those actually have ? As advertised ?

I have seen advertised for 336 MH/s per USB ASIC, I am getting 334 MH/s so it is doing about what it is advertised. Here is proof

Got a strange issue.

Sometimes several of my workers stops being shown their shares at My account stats whilst others shares' number continue to increase in time.
Estimated reward also drops.

Looking at workers I notice nothing significant at all - they're producing shares as usual and cgminer marks them as Accepted.

After being restarted cgminer performs as usual but now shares are being counted and I see them in stats.

Looks like there's some instability in counting of shares which were accepted by stratum.

Does anybody have the same behavior?

Anyone else get zero on #18671

Looks like you had a disconnect near the end of that round because of your low share count in the next round and steady reward.

Yeah, I tripped my circuit breaker  Cry

what equipment do u get 0.00313452 ?

.003 is probably around 2gh/s-2.5gh/s  I am just guessing assuming this was with 16th/s not 18th/s on the pool! haha...

Yeah this is one of my older machines with 2 ModMiner quads, and six  Ztex 1.15x boards. Floats around 2.4gh/s.. When diff jumped to 15mil, I retired several 5850s gpu rigs. Plus, summer is just getting started with 95* (35*C) days. I'm hoping to have a couple jals in a couple months (ordered around newyears)

Nice estimate too Wink

Edit: Thanks for the quick answer

Up to around ~10 GH/s on my "farm" now (39 total "workers" on my account) that I have all the new machine running -- whenever my home computer comes back online and I finalize the over-clocks on all the systems will be close to 12-13 GH/s -- AC went out at home and it got so hot in my upstairs it corrupted one of my hard drives so have to order one and replace it.

Little late in the game but still a bit of fun as a hobby for a while none-the-less... and until I move my office the electricity is no additional cost (included in rent).

Pool now at 18,900Gh/s loving my new card being negated! Running out of places to install new cards!
I am trying to decide if after GPU's are totally shot if I should swap my Nvidia 650 for one of these 7870xt's but I so hate AMD/ATI....

I have 2 of those in my machine running on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS with cgminer and I get just over 1GH/s out of the machine.  They don't run as cool as my 5870's, but they are beasts cranking out 500 MH/s consistently and at $250 a pop new. Its a pretty good card. I would take 2 of these over a 5970 or 7970 any day.

I have a question regarding cgminer and Slush pool.
When cgminer shows a new block, Slush sometimes also starts a new block, but many times Slush doesn't.
What does it mean?
cgminer detects blocks being solve from other pools and solo miners as well.

Thank you very much for your fast reply.

So the block I am seeing on cgminer is not really the block I am working on?
Not logical to me  Huh

When cgminer shows a new block, slush does, too.
Look at the stats page under current bitcoin block.

It does not start a new round, though, because one round on the pool equals one block found by the pool.
So of a new block is found by someone else, you (and the whole pool) starts working on another block, but in the same pool round, until the pool finds a block and starts a new round.

.....Aaand this topic should be called [16000 GH/s] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + UserDiff; ASIC tested  Wink

the topic was changed to 12,000 so  am sure it will go to 16k sooner or later haha...

gotta love the post count anti OMG scammer count negater. 20+ posts and still 42. I will never get to 55 so I can collect BTC! Sad

Yes, but you have to keep on 55th post for a week to be eligible for getting block solved! This is my 8 pseudonim, the other 7 are getting blocks..... Grin

is that how it increases by average posts over a week? I tried to read their explanation but zoned out cuz the reason for implementing it was just nutso...
foil hate nutso.

yeah, wou are right, i guess.
it would not work because
a) you know for sure when a round starts, but cant know when it will end
b) even though just contributing shares in the second half of a round will get you paid more per share then staying during the complete round, it still gives less than contributing to a shorter round

do i get this right, you are suggesting some kind of... reverse hopping?

at first, hoppers switched to a pool when a new round started, knowing they would still get paid enough for a finished block in the old pool.
After scoring has been changed to prevent this, and shares submitted later in the round gain higher scores, its time for hopping 2.0!
The average round time could either be calculated via the n last rounds, or just estimated by pool hash-rate, and neo hoppers pop in to provide well scoring late shares. Smiley

Next evolutionary step will be hybrid-hopping, just find yourself one pool with proportional distribution to join early in the rounds, and one with slush-scoring to join late in rounds Smiley

I'm aftraid this reverse hopping wouln't work..
Long blocks are less frequent than short ones.
And you can't estimate current block duration..
Normal hopping gains from short (and very
short) blocks. Nothing like that is available in
"reverse hopping". I believe one can just lose.
