difficulty rises today ?
No. It freaking jumps.

www.bitcoincharts.com gives you data for instance.

Pool luck (1 day, 7 days, 30 days):   67%, 90%, 97%  Huh

Still low this morning:
Pool luck (1 day, 7 days, 30 days):   71%, 90%, 97%

And it will never compensate in the future, as the difficulty is to rise significantly again this evening... :-(

Wow. I mined for almost 4 hours and got this:

18587   2013-06-15 07:20:58   3:57:56   54853253   4704   0.00029513   none   241625   25.29251782    confirmed

Anyone else get that or am I the lucky one?  Cry
Since its already confirmed it looks like that's what I'm keeping.

I am one of the lucky workers (I guess) to get what I normally get on that particular block, around 0.0175 to 0.0215 (Actual reward was 0.01975572)

My reward is quite average for this round.

It should not depend on the round duration ("4 hours").
But I can't avoid a suspicion that my reward tends to be lower for long rounds. For rounds exceeding some 3 or 3.5 hour, the reward is either average or low, but never higher then average. Rather strange observation for me.
[edit]: When saying low, I mean generally low in the limits of usual variance, but often at the very limit thereof.
[edit]: Round 18601 (3 hr 45 min) is an exception from the abovementioned observation, with an average reward.

Reaper is the only mining software working with my hardware, so I'm limited with what I can use with LTC (reaper, cgminer, bfgminer, none works for me on LTC mining).

Does it mean you have some special hardware?
Is the content in parentheses to be understood in the sense that reaper works for you and the following two programs do not?

That's correct. I usually get from .0024 to .0030.  That one was very low compared to my usual. Was yours really low like mine was or just a little bit?

I assume that you are implying that it is low? that block was a bit low for me too.

I temporarily doubled my hash rate and earning the same amount per round.  Once I sell my other PC with the 7850, I think I'm done with cryptocoins.

Reaper is the only mining software working with my hardware, so I'm limited with what I can use with LTC (reaper, cgminer, bfgminer, none works for me on LTC mining).

GPU Mining is the only viable option for me since AISC is not easily or affordably obtainable.

And this dwindling luck isn't helping.  This s the first I've seen it dip down to the 60s %

cgminer works ok for me mining LTC.  You might have a typo in some option or left something out, tho.  Here's my cmd line for WeMineLTC pool:

cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://us.wemineltc.com:80 -u workername -p workerpass -d 0 -I 12 -w 64 --thread-concurrency 8192

I use the -d 0 so that only gpu0 starts, and then I can start or stop my other gpus ala guiminer.  Makes switching from mining to gaming to mining easy.

If you haven't already seen it, check out https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer/blob/master/SCRYPT-README for using cgminer on LTC.

Pool luck has been pretty abysmal this past week.  Here's hoping it turns around or the difficulty increase will be that much more painful to bear.

The shares submitted in the last second are worth more than all other shares, but the block finder's total reward for the round should still be roughly proportional to his hash rate.

It's not a big difference by the way. At exp(t / 300), the last share will get only 0.3% more than the shares from one second before.

The last share is guaranteed to have the highest score, so if you are a low hashrate miner and you found a block you will definitely get more than usual ... not much but still more than you usually get.
Those doing most of the work may/will not notice such an increase, but a low rate miner will.

The effect is below the limits of resolution with the normal variance for the low rate miner also. The effect of the previous share times has to be taken into account.
An example: In the "successful" round, when the miner finds the block, he has this very last share, and the previous share may had been found 60 seconds earlier. In the last minute of the next round, last two shares can be found e.g. 30 and 20 seconds before the round end, and the total reward can then be higher.

hi   there
can someone explain me how to use the "suggested difficulty" feature ?

bigger is the SD , bigger is the pps reward value ? that's right ?

what's the best SD for a 2-4 gh/s worker ? , in other pools like btc50, 8 is recommended  , and on slush pool "2"  is guessed as best value

right now all my workers are set to 1? so i'm wondering if i could increase my income if i set the right SD value

thanx

If you increase difficulty your income will not change - variance in your income per block will increase while total will remain the same, but you will use less bandwidth for your connection and also will put less burden on the server.

For 50BTC the time of your share submission is not so important, so 8 is OK there and they will put less load on their server, so will you on your internet connection.

For Slush it is a bit more important when is your share submitted, that's why he suggests much lower difficulty, so with 4GH you will have a share each second at diff 1 and each 2-3 sec with diff 2.

Try using 5 - you should have a share each 5-10 sec which i think is good compromise between bandwidth and not missing on short blocks, but if you are not happy with the variance of per block income, then reduce the diff to 4 or 3 ... i think 2 is too low for 4GH, but if you are closer to 2GH than try that too.

thanx dude, it's clear now

Hi there!
I noticed there is a new column on stats page - Your NMC reward. Is it possible to merged mine NMC  on Block erupter blades with stratum proxy? I started namecoind.exe but nothing seems to happens.

NMC is being phased out, and isn't currently mined on stratum. Once getwork's gone, NMC will also go.
