Lost a little on some block a while back, gained some on a block a while back

Worked out exactly where it was supposed to be

Complaining about pennies just so you know they are discontinued (in Canada) Eat my shorts!

I have had nothing but good times on Slush's pool.

That's great.  So if your bank randomly starts charging you for purchases you didn't make, but then makes phantom deposits at other random times, you're okay with this as long as it seems like it evens out in the end.  The problem is, how do you know if it's really evening out?  If the accounting algorithm is broken, there is no way to know if someone is skimming off the top or not.  Not saying Slush is doing that at all, but just that it would be impossible to know for sure.

Why would it be impossible to know? Everything is on the blockchain and can be reviewed if concerns arise.

Perusing the last 10-15 pages of this thread, you guys can't even agree on which blocks were missed.  I really doubt someone is going to go through the trouble of a REAL audit when they can simply change pools until all these bugs are fixed.  Those that are content with the bugs won't bother, and those that aren't simply move on.

Thank you very much, then it was unlucky:)
I use CGminer with stratum protocol for mining.
From blocks that MisterAnf publish I can tell you that you had a stratum error.

Sorry, but Lucko could be right here - compared to the number of invalids we typically get when all is well, 2 invalids so close together is an alert - especially considering we have a recently known issue here - I just hope we don't see any more...

So you are backing out? You will not post statistics and things I can prove without seeing them you are saying that they are not relevant? Your words were: "And if there will be some losses in blocks for me, I promise, i will send you twice the amount. Yes, I`m that confident, that I can triple the amount. Easily."
You had 2 invalid blocks and that is 100% loss on a block. 1 is bed luck 2 is a error and look at other my posts to see explanation why... And for the rest I just have to trust you that you will tell me? Well I never expected that you will pay up... Just show you how stupid you were to promise that.

I wanted to post my statistics page, but did not find a "spoiler" feature to hide this unnecessary blunter from the innocent people.
For the sake of the argument

...1 is bad luck 2 is an error...
Why not "both = error" then? Cheesy In my book that`s below statistical noise level - just as with pool luck, not measurable in a couple of days.
If we had 3 invalids in a row - that would be more believable to be a pool system issue. But not random 2 out of random 30...

P.S. I apologize to all the readers for the clutter. (maybe there is a spoiler feature I did not notice?)

I have the last 10 minute connected to the pool, i was offline before.
Where i find the used Slush method? I think i has for this block with 21 shares a little score ^^
Well if you had last 10 minutes connected that is a different story. The calculation you made is too low. It should be more. My estimate is that you should get 20 to 30% normal reword. This is probably mistake in the reword system. Anyone else seeing error on that block?

If not then is not a reword system but stratum. Sometimes it happens that they stop recording shares for up to 15 minuts+ and if you are unlucky enough for block to end you loss all the shares since they are not scored in time. Only Slush can fix this. He told us that he knows about this error but we are still waiting for fix...

For Slush method see: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.50002

Hy all!

I have a little problem with the pool reward.
On the statistics page in the first row i see this:
#      Block found at      Duration   Total shares    Your shares    Your BTC reward    Block #   Block value      Validity
18271    2013-05-29 06:27:07    1:15:21    11843305       21          0.00000000    238470    25.24835000    91 confirmations left

My question is, why is zero my earning?

(25 BTC + block fees - 2% fee) * (shares found by user's workers) / (total shares in current round)

( (25 + 0,24835) * 0,98 ) * 21 / 11843305 = 0,00004387382095 BTC

What is wrong?Smiley

Thank you very much!

Best regards:

21 shares in 1 hour and 15 minutes in very little. First of all your formula is wrong. You should use formula for Slush method. Your shares are converted into score and closer to the end of the round is higher the score for a share. If you are that slow it could happen that you didn't send any shares at the end of a round so your score is so low that you don't get nothing. But if you are faster and you did stop mining all shares were at the start of a round and they have even lower score.

2 invalid blocks out of 30 in my statistics page, looks like ok to me. Some bad luck.

And congratulations on the donation.

About being true to my word, I stated that I will send double the loss if I, that is me, misteranf, gets screwed up reward block or a lot of missing shares per round having no miner downtime.
I have never seen that. I guess hundreds(thousands?) of Slush`s pool miners haven`t.

OK on that case

amount due for yesterday is 0.0022 * 3 = 0.0066.

Reason? 2 or 3 invalid blocks that are too much not to be a pool error. Let see if you will be truth to your word.

And please do post statistic so I can find more...

EDIT: and my karma is OK. Yesterday we had 200% luck and I got a donation from a user that I helped troubleshot a strange problem... I was sure that will never happend but it did...

I just posted a reason what you are having invalid blocks and added that it is relay bed time for Slush to have personal problems(since the problem is well know already).
(...)

Yes, at 11:21:56 PM UTC, i.e. 01:21:56 AM CEST, it was really "bed time" for Slush.
(But it has nothing to do with anything you're writing about.)

Yes as I was totally wrong last time when Slush confirmed all that I was saying about invalid problems. Just one quote from one pool admin so you will feel no need to believe me... He already did patch that Slush did last time we saw him and didn't solved the problem completely...

... What I'm doing is porting the merge mining modifications to the 0.8.2 bitcoin branch. That'll help with the orphans. ....

But I do agree I can't see what is going on at the pool so it is just a informed guess... Can you say the same for your statement?

If I have had all my miners hire I would have lost 0.03 BTC...

Are you hiring your miners? ;-)

Pool is good when Slush is hire.

And even hiring Slush??? :-)))))))))))))))

Excellent! You've found an issue in Lucko's English! That's quite an achievement! Are you now happy? Did that help you feel better?

And more importantly - did your post help everyone (or even anyone?) in the forum?

Please - let's stop with the personal stuff. That doesn't help us.
The least helpful thing for us to do would be to start picking on each other. Let's instead get back to mining and helping each other.
