I am thinking of switching my wallet address for my MtGox deposit address. Any reason for not doing it?

yea. it's gox. Cheesy

technically speaking, i don't see why it wouldn't work fine, aside fro mthe obvious "then all your coins will be on gox," part.

So things are looking much better now.  11 hour block followed by a 2:44 block, followed by 4 minute block!  This I can live with.

Well if you do some work after 2:40 and figure out that you missed the end and a 4 minute block you might think diffidently Smiley But yes it looks much better...

The other ended the second I posted lol still way down even with the added card.

Yes.
It seems I can not attach images to posts, so maybe this will work:

Jcw188 (sorry quoting just doesn't work here): Bitminter is probably best for you as it seems to have a pure PPLNS system while the algorithm Slush uses favours shares submitted just before a block is found. To get well paid you'd need to stay online for a long time or log off just when a block is found.
Well not really... Slush method is beater since you get more if you are not stooping the miner. And you say it is running 12 hours or more... And if you turn in on at the end of the run you get about the same as you would if it was running all the time... So you loose a lot if you go of at the end but you get also a lot if you came at the and. So it evens out. As long as you are not making stops all the time... And since Slush method is beater at protecting against hoppers you get more... But you get a bigger variances. So you might have a good and bed days...

What he's saying is that it went from april 29th to may 30th, when it should have gone from april 29th to april 30th.

And I'm guessing that the reword is also off since it is probably pool earnings...

I can only say I see no problem with my graf

yeah, now that I actually look at the graph, I'm not seeing the same problem.  The dates are all correct for me...

I will ask again, am I the only one seeing this:

Date: 30.5.2013: Reward 425.26716892714285 BTC
Date: 30.5.2013: Reward 506.74909089 BTC

at mining.bitcoin.cz graphs

I assume you are wondering why there are two values for a given day - even though you don't make that clear at all...

You are looking at two functions plotted on same graph - a 7 day moving average and the actual data point for the day...

Obviously it's a glitch.  Who cares?  What effect does it have?  Just pretend that the 5 is a 4...

Q: "What is worse, ignorance or apathy?"
A: "Who knows? Who cares?"

:-D

On a serious note though, given the recent attacks I prefer to be alert to _all_ anomalies.

Probably shouldn't comment since I haven't had a chance to read those yet, but I did mention above about how I thought the system was outdated.
Judging by the hash rates in the top of those they aren't very recent.
If im wrong, please dont hang me! I'll apologise for my ignorance once I have had time to look at things properly.

4.2 and 4.3 are the important ones - 4.1 is just background. They are from last year, but the score method is the same now as it was then.

Very good read indeed. I wonder how many of the forum members will take the time to read & understand (!) it. I see a rather wide spectrum of skills and attitude and many reoccurring questions that makes me assume the majority will just skip anything longer than a few paragraphs. Anyway, congratulations, I really recognize the full worth of these quality articles.

Cheers,
   T

It would be great if people actually *read these docs*  rather than questioning the scoring system - there are other pools...

Difficulty does look higher to me about 20% at least.

Nope, difficulty has been unchanged at 10076292 for a while now - http://blockchain.info/q/getdifficulty - I've got a ticker monitoring it. Just an unlucky round - you get them - be philosophical about it - take the good rounds with the bad and all that...

I remember it starting with an 8 but don't check that frequently

I understand difficulty changed, I was more interested in the answer to my main question.  Is slush or bitminter's scoring system better for someone who can only mine 13 hours/day.  Thanks.

Don't think the hours per day you can mine make any difference all.  Your best bet is to try both and figure out for yourself which one is best.  Everyone's setup is different, and will have different results.
