When it first happened slush said that he had the database up and running and was going to figure out everyone's share. He said that he was going to give a bonus to those who stuck with him through this. (I think he said that) a long time ago and I dont have the time to back track the thread.

im still not 100% on the situation or how payments will be handled but its nice to know progress is being made.

geez "nothing to investigate" , and then throwing a bunch of random IP addresses at you.. they just never learn... I wish there could be done something against OVH, sue them or something.. well.. it is slush his business, and moving away from that terrible terrible place is a number 1 prio, maybe something for later

Well if it's an inside job like you think then of course they would say there was nothing to investigate. And of course you were the only one to report it if you were the only one that was hacked. I guess it only matters to them if several people have a problem. Sounds to me like you need a new service provider slush.

Did OVH already told you something? I'm interested in knowing what they have to say about this issue.
Today I had a phone call with OVH guys. They told me that they have "nothing to investigate" because I'm the only who reported the problem. I asked them for logs, they have nothing more than list of IPs who accessed the Manager. These IPs are some random IPs from whole round, looks like proxies.

Could say it's part of the risk of doing business. Looks to me like Slush is taking on the lion's share of the risk. No one is making you stay so if it doesn't work the way you like it can always start your own pool or go to a different one. As far as how much you earn great you got paid for it at the rate that was promised then, if the rate offered now isn't good enough then that is when the idea of a market force suggests you go else ware. Seams simple enough to me.

I know I passed the 1 bitcoin threshold during this site outage, but haven't yet been paid. Are you temporarily delaying payouts or is there genuinely a problem?

That's no surprise that OVH didn't respond to this ticket for hours, but at 11pm UTC I realized that there's another succesful password reset at OVH. This is complete mystery to me, because I'm aboslutely sure that nobody else had access to my mailbox and the email with reset link has been untouched (unread, not deleted). I'd say that attacker won't bother by changing status of the email to "unread", but he'd delete the email instead.
This time I realized that the attacker resetted the machine with the wallet to rescue mode, which means that I lost the control to this machine. I was still succesful by logging into the database and I took the snapshot of database and transferred it to safe location. Few seconds since the migration finished, attackers restarted all remaining machines to rescue mode.
So far it looks like yet another inside job, like Linode two years ago. Or attackers found some shortcut how to gain access to Manager without confirming the request from the email. I don't know what's worse option. I'll investigate this issue in detail later and I hope OVH won't close eyes to this.
Did OVH already told you something? I'm interested in knowing what they have to say about this issue.

I see conflicting mention of ports and before I was using 8332 for a port and it did not resolve once i pointed to stratum.bitcoin.cz

3. mining is still working and we will be paid by slush per block instad of PPS
Just on the day of the outage I discovered 2 blocks. (Got a screen cap of it too)
I am the last person in a circle to be "the greedy type" but lets hope some metrics or thoughts are put into play when dispersing funds. Like one Mod mentioned in the Custom Hardware Mining board, I pay out more in fees than the average GPU owner earns in a day. Or at least that is what the Mod hinted at when they ran the numbers against various fee sizes.
Slush will take care of you, don't worry...
Or put it towards buying expensive services that make it very hard for an attacker to succeed. That I wouldn't mind. Though as others have said, it is not necessarily a money problem. It is very hard to combat DDOS without seriously scaling like crazy.

Either way, I don't think it really needs to be argued that Slush is doing his best to get things going again. Just keep in mind that in deciding to stick with his pool and getting the profits of a GPU miner for 2 days really hits home when the next difficulty change continues to come ever closer.

That's not too bad. I am glad many of us are sticking arround. I haven't been doing this for long but from what I have seen Slush is doing more than 1 man should be expected to do on his own in such a short amount of time.
