Did anyone order an extra long round with a side of frustration (supersized)??

About incredibly bad pool luck in recent days - I'm absolutely sure that there wasn't anything wrong with the pool. I have done pretty good reporting about current pool status & sms monitoring when anything goes wrong. I also checked everything twice during those extra-long rounds and didn't see anything wrong. It's just damn variance :-). We can just keep hashing and hope that it will average out soon ;-).

any info to the massiv invalid namecoin blocks?

It was caused by broken namecoin explorer. I reported it to Namecoin developers and few minutes ago I also fixed namecoin rewards. Everything is fine again.

BinoX is right, pool luck is calculated only from finished blocks from intervals now()-1 day, now()-7days, now()-30 days. That explains why pool luck can be high even when pool is working on ugly long round.

Well crap.
Now I'm having another issue. Sad
It's all up and running, but whenever I try to check the balance, it says "bad response from server".
What gives? This makes me worried that I'm not getting credit for the mining I'm doing in this pool.

This is bug in GUIminer, it's broken since I added SSL support for profile page...

And another block found for the community! payout:229btc number of found blocks:7

I don't think I will ever catch up again, even if everything supposedly gets equaled out in the end. Will give you next update in early summer- after 1 year of mining.

Couple of questions.
Has anyone preformed any analysis of what else was going on during the last few weeks when we had the runs of bad luck.
Variables wish to research but have no hard numbers are TOR clients connected during the "bad luck" times and number of Namecoin miners at the given times. I noticed during the period of "good luck" a little over a week ago there was 0-3 TOR miners then when we have had this recent downturn in luck that number was at 13-15.
The namecoin data is just for other variables.
If there is any data out there I would love to see it.

Wow, massive GHash surge....

I was wondering why my reward per-round was down...

Approx. cluster performance (30 min average): 1737.155 Ghash/s

If you check your account details on the actual webpage of the pool, you'll get all the info you need. I've been mining for awhile, and I still get bad response from the server when I click that button in Guiminer.

Just sit back, and watch the coin roll in... unless we hit another unlucky period... ugh...

I've been getting that for a long time, but not to worry, you're still getting credit for your shares.

I am? Where are they going then?
I don't see any transactions coming into my bitcoin client.

Glad to be of assistance. Happy to help increase the pools hashing power.

Aside from that, did you input that data into your Guiminer program or the bitcoin.conf? You input the data directly into Guiminer when using it. Create a tab in it for slush's pool (it is one of the default options in there) then fill in username and password (make sure to go to my account on Slush's page first and put in a login suffix and password). The username is your username.loginsuffix (username then a '.' then your chosen login suffix) and then input your password you chose in "my account" into Guiminer as well. Choose your device and test it. You can search online for the best extra flags to use with your graphics card and input those as well. That should get you up and running.

That's what I was doing wrong, thanks!
Got it all put into guiminer correctly, and it's working fine now. Smiley

Note: Guiminer v2011-07-01 remains working fine for me. My first thing to try when I had problems with v2011-08-24 was to drop back a version since I had on and off problems with 08-24 giving me an error message when closing out. 07-01 has been running very cleanly and with low stale/invalids (under 0.5% today and last night I had an 1800 share session with 1 stale/invalid). so, you may try dropping back to this version and see if it fixes your issue also.
