I wouldn't mind seeing the current block average hashrate in my account.  That would make it a lot easier for me to tell if I had a problem with one of my miners.

I know the hashrate will fluctuate a little bit, but if it drops like 300 mhash from one block to another then I know to start checking things out.  With the ten block average I don't always notice right away because it takes a few blocks before the change is noticeable.

I think that security is at comparable level with all other pools. To be honest, I see some "security solutions" more like "security thru obscurity". For example, locking payout addresses is nightmare to resolve for me as sysadmin when somebody lose his wallet and have significant amount of coins on the account. Should I leave it "as is" and potentially send his bitcoins to black hole or should I do "an exception" and change his payout address manually? Where's the point of such security option?

Actually all significant changes must be confirmed from registered email, so locking address have no sense. If anybody use same password for the pool account and for his email, it's his problem, this is not a kindergarten. If he has computer compromited (so the attacker have an access to pool account and to mailbox), then the attacker can do the payout to 'locked address' and steal coins from compromited computer. I still don't see the benefit of address locking.


Honestly, I'm trying to push people to don't keep their balance on the pool. It's a pool, not a bank and I don't want to be responsible for already mined coins. You know, my pool has no security issues so far, but a) there's no reason to keep high balances on pool b) higher balances motivate attackers...


Do you have any issue with payouts? Afaik it's 'set it up and forget', so I don't think it's necessary to check every transaction... Simply use some amount which will lead to one payout per one or two days and everything will work for you automatically...

About the hashrate - it's more technical issue, I can display 10-round average or current block average. First one has significant latency and second one is inexact. Unfortunately current pool solution don't let me provide worker hashrate in some standard way, like '30 min average'.

In case anyone ever hacks my account, I have 24 hours to notice and to take action. If it's not too much of a problem programming, one can and should imitate take the good stuff from other pools. It would allow me to keep slightly higher amounts of bitcoins on the pool site and I wouldn't have to bother checking every few hours if my latest transaction made it to my client. Having to spend time checking up on transactions and profile safety is money, too. Time I could use to relax and do something fun with my bitcoins.  This security measure is even more important now that people seem to have (luckily?) forgotten all about the bitcoin bubble of last year and we are in RALLY Mode. It would just make me feel safer.

Bemtje: No, I even don't know i0coin project. Actually I'm not a fan of alternative currencies, because it is splittling development effort between many small projects, instead of focusing to improve Bitcoin as much as possible. There's still a lot of unused potential in Bitcoin.

I did only one exception with Namecoin, for a good reason. Namecoin mainly isn't a currency, but general-purpose decentralized key/value store. Another benefit is that Namecoin was created especially for storing non-financial data into blockchain, so existence of Namecoin keep Bitcoin blockchain (potentially) cleaner.

Any plans to implement merged mining for i0Coins?

If all goes well over January I'll be looking at building a few more miners. Quite new to bitcoin really, got 3x 5830s (and a Geforce and a Core i7 CPU) mining away for now.

7 day luck average is still 102% ;-).

I checked the server and found the message about losing network link for a moment. It looks like somebody pulled out network cable/restart switch. Actually it's second time when I see this type of outage, firstly it was ~month ago. Now everything works fine, sorry for the issue.

Pool is calculating only one score for both chains, using BTC as main currency. When bitcoin block is found, pool calculate user's scores and calculate bitcoin rewards. Then it pick all namecoin blocks found during Bitcoin round and split them between users using BTC score. The overall efect for block rewards in long term is the same, however if you stop or start mining in the middle of bitcoin round, your namecoin reward can be affected significantly.

Yes, it works. And it's nice example that without pool mining, a lot of users won't find a block in months, even with significant hashrate. Btw some of my cards didn't find a block for months, too.

I have turned off miner after about 3 hour mining(this block),  while hashing this bitcoin block - 6 namecoin blocks was found...
Just cannot believe that for 3 hour namecoin reward was only 0.00000411.

Does the "blocks found" counter still work? Just wondering, since it says that none of my miners have found any in basically the last several months. This could be true, but it seems like I'm several standard deviations away from normal when I've only officially found one block for the pool, but have received like 188 in payouts. Mining at like 1.7 Ghash here.

I'm wondering why I'm seeing severely reduced performance from my 5-GPU miner when connecting to this pool?  I get a constant 1650MH/s reported by Diablo when I'm on DeepBit (although DeepBit reports slightly less) but anywhere from 700-1300 on Slush, with a current 10-round hashrate of only 1161 (that's confirmed by submitted shares as well as Diablo reported hashrate).  LOTS of fluctuation in hashing speed, peaking well below what I know the miner can do (and no, it's not stales, which are currently ~0.3%).  If it helps my username is the same over there as here; PM me if you need more info than that.
