I think that my miners have some driver issues, but there might be more reasons.  Yesterday one my poclbm stopped working and told me somethign about hardware issue, but I know that trigger was shutting down of the pool. So miners can be sometimes really weid :-)

Sooo... this could potentially be a bad flag or something weird with the gpu?  (driver/unstable OC etc...)

Sargasm: Didn't they lock up during pool outage for some time? It happen sometimes on my miners. However i'm pretty sure they were affected by recent pool instability, which should be OK now.

Btw calculated shares are not (directly) related to score, so this means those workers really didn't sent accceptable shares to pool.

Can anyone explain this?

.worker3   xxxxxx   0   232   14562.1340   2011-11-02 14:34:19    on   Edit |
.worker4   xxxxxx   0   53   10157.6513   2011-11-02 14:34:28    on   Edit |
.worker5   xxxxxx   0   65   23615.0395   2011-11-02 14:34:28    on   Edit |
.worker6   xxxxxx   0   88   30060.8852   2011-11-02 14:34:32    on   Edit |

One of my workers has finished 3 times the work of another and yet has half the score.  It generally has lower latency (only a single gpu on a quad core processor vs. 4 gpus on a quad core hyperthreaded processor).  I do not understand why the score is so abysmal in comparison.

I had some other stuff until now, but I'm going to payments soon, should be up to two hours.

I forgot to say that Tor mining (although it's still highly experimental feature) is fully working on new server, including long polling support and ntime rolling. I didn't finished patch for poclbm yet because recent server issues, but if anybody want to play with his miner and Tor support, it's done on pool side.

I'm also surprised by low latency on Tor network. I remember than few years ago it was nearly impossible to browse onion sites, but now it's pretty comfortable. Of course building circuit take some time, but then I'm usually having responses under one second, which is excellent.

New Tor address for pool is: poolziyzjb25aa4e.onion pool57wkuu5yuhzb.onion

Btw thanks slush for getting the pool back up! I'm curious though if you plan to process the NMC payouts.

[...] payouts are now stopped, I need to recalculate few rounds manually before I'll start them again, sorry.

I just hope that slush's current web host doesn't back down on their promise and closes his account when a big DDoS attack comes - and it will come.

I looked at hetzner's site and I could not believe they're offering servers with 16 GB of RAM for just 49 Euros.

I don't think it would be proper server ECC memory at that price, perhaps some 8GB g-skill modules. But I could be wrong who knows Smiley

No doubt it's not ECC memory, but even so I guess you can get by without ECC, no?

What shocked me though was the price disparity. States side a server like that would cost you several hundred dollars. Heck a core i7 860 with 4 GB costs you over $140/month - and this is the best deal I found.

Update: It's official at the 49 euro price the memory is non ECC. To get ECC RAM  you have to go with their EX6 package.

Seems to be working again. But what is "long poll: IO error" ?

Problems in long polilng connection. You get few of this when I restart long polling daemon, but your miner should then reconnect. I don't see any issue with longpolling on my side now.

I'm an idiot, because I has been trying another mysql configuration on separate virtual machine - and forgot to setup same kernel parameters there as on production database. So I accidentally shot down machine on the same vmware bug again. So outage was just a server restart, because I was on console when it happen. I'm sorry for downtime.

getting a 502 bad gateway errror now, site was working 10 seconds ago.

Yeah, my miners reconnected briefly then got stuck on "server error" and then temporarily down for maintinence then switched to backup. Ohh well, guess there are still some more kinks to workout...

Well I for one is still have the same problem as last couple of days with the pool and website only working for short periods.
Now the miners just fell back to secondary pools and the website stopped working again...

bulanula: Payouts are not enabled yet, they'll be back in few hours. I need to check last rounds if their rewards were not affected by outages and recalculate possible issues. Thanks for patience.

Sure, take your time. I just want to widthraw all my total ( unconfirmed + confirmed too ) NMC and BTC funds I did so far before I start my rigs again so as to pay electricity this month etc.

Thank you !
