It's may already guys, hopefully this month would be the primetime. $600 before this month is over? It's entirely plausible.

For this year, I think the first figure of the price will be the same number of the months. So the price will be 5xx in May, and 12xx in December.

Hopefully it gets better, but btc prices might reach 500$ by the end of next month.
that will be much more stable than the beginning of the May. take a look of today, did not make a $500. that's why you should not have an excessive speculation.

By the mid of may we shall be crossing the 5000$. If we are unable to do so, then the calculations and speculations of halving effects will be false. Undecided

what?!! nobody has speculated $5000 by the middle of May, to get there bitcoin will need a much longer time and adoption to reach that high a price. in May the price will be stable and rising in the $500 range and if the halving rise comes the price will go as high as $1000
Both of those predictions rely too heavily on the halving to have an effect on the price. The "event" has already begun to increase the price, through the hype and whatnot, but there shouldn't be such a drastic change. I would anticipate that $500 is possible at the end of May, but $1000 is just too optimistic for the coming few months. The price is not going to increase by 122% (as of this current price) within a couple months. I know bitcoin is volatile, but the only reason for the price to increase like that would be market manipulation in the form of a bubble.

It won't reach anywhere near $500 and we are officially in May right now. So coinbase is just over pricing their stock of coins to sell it off as quick as they can before the halving starts. They know that alot of people are wanting to buy up as much as they can.

well it's not like 500 was never touched, so it's not a mental barrier anymore, when the correct increase will come, the 500 mark will be broken without none noticing it, because we will lead to higher value

Well, we can't expect $500 this coming month since it is now stable. I guess that at the beginning of the monthof june or july that it will touch that kind of amount.
I think that June/July is where we might see high $400s, but I don't know if we'll see above $500 before the halving occurs, or if we'll see it cross anywhere above $600 after the halving. Maybe the miners are fine sitting on what they already have.

People keep stretching the months where Bitcoin could possibly reach $500 this year.

First it was March where people where expecting Bitcoin to reach $500 and then April and now May.

And if it isn't happening in May then it "surely" will happen in June, right? Grin

It won't happen...until it does happen. And then, well you know

It seems to be at the floor as of now. No movement what so ever. This is very boring and upsetting at the same time.

Short-term direction can be extremely hard to predict.
Not that long ago, Bitcoin was stuck in the $200's and now we are enjoying much higher prices.
The long-term trend is still up.  Smiley

You naysayers are going to be kicking yourselves when we fly over $500 by end of week...
In 1 hour only 10 weeks left till halving.....muhahahahaha

On coindesk i see that the max price (avg from the exchanges listed there) is $469, i hope this trend will continue and i would be happy to see the bitcoin price to be at $500 at the end of this month.
There's only four days left and I don't think bitcoin value would bubble up that much in such a short span of time (unless something really good happened). At most would be $485 imo. Well, I didn't want to break your hopes though. Just an honest opinion.

The hopes are always with us, and the end of the month has come but the price crashed for few days and the target of $500 was not reached but i still hope that it will be reached in the next few weeks.

We already were at these price levels in January this year, after what followed a rather large dip to about 350 USD.
I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happened again, and then another boom just before the halving .. Either way you turn it around,
im not really impressed by such rather low increase.. What happened to high hopes of 1k+ usd ?

Yes but do you remember how we got there? Via a quick and steep rise up to 504. Of course it was obvious that this run would have a correction. Now things are looking much more sustainable and solid.
A rise with low volume is very often a good sign!

A rise with big volumes and rise very slowly is even better. When the price is pumped, it will be pumped later.
