The time tracking will stop if there is no activity (for somewhere around five minutes). So if you click on a new post or page every few minutes, it should track your total online time.

Does anyone know how they actually track your time logged in? Mine dosent seem to advance at the same rate as the time that I actually spend logged in.

Yup it sure is though I lurked unregistered for a longer amount of time so I went to the Whitelist and explained why I wasn't another average newbie.
