Upon checking CSGO500.com didn't market their platform yet in this forum which is pretty sad news knowing that they have existed already for several years. If they are accepting crypto currencies then it will be good if they can setup an announcement thread here so they can easily inform the forum members here if they have some promotions to create like the one that you have shared.

What I see now is a pop up message that I have to make a deposit before I can claim it and I wasn't expecting that. Any deposit would do?

You have made a good concern about withdrawal because this is important. The mode of withdrawal, minimum and maximum to withdraw is good to know because some gambling sites do have conditions for such.

Every unverified user has a daily limit of 2M BUX per day (around $1.2k in real money deposits or $1.14k in crypto). Limits can be lifted by submitting KYC information.
If you max out your limits a lot of times, we may perform enhanced due diligence on you and ask you to submit some information.
There are no limits for virtual items (skins, vouchers, gift cards, games, etc).
And yes, we do pay our winners, obviously.

17000 that is a lot of money that they give away in prizes that is a good alternative I just think it will be quite a task to win that but every little bit helps. for now I'll stick to betting on football matches
