I think that investment is enough. But I advise you to share this capital to four or five coins and not to buy only one coin. Because it is too risky .

Yes, you can, but don't invest in ICO. Select something stable with proven result and working product. In this case there are big chances to scale this business

500$ is not enough, bro )) ;DI would suggest accumulating some more - join the bounty programs, airdrops. There are some great projects out there that you can earn and hodl. If not, then altcoins is your choice. Look at Cardano, Fusion, Siacoin, Bitcoin cash. Sell at the peak and buy some Bitcoin or Ethereum. 
I would also invest in ETH as a starter it is the best way, there are now easy plugins to use dApps with one click like MetaMask or Mist Wallet. Then you can read up about upcoming ICOs and start a journey of trading & investing. Or you can just HODL your ETH.

You can invest it as the start. From my point of view, it's enough for begining. It's wise to invest BTC or ETH since they always sit the top 2 volumes in the trading market and it will make great profits. You just wait a while until the market increases.
People have started from smaller amounts and gained profit. If someone has the skills to make things in his favor under all kind of circumstances, then the starting investment does not matter at all. I would also suggest him Ethereum or bitcoin. If he starts trading in bitcoin, his capital can increase greatly. People say that bitcoin trading is very difficult or risky, but honestly reality is totally opposite.
