Some people I've talked to are talking about $1000 as the next barrier, but I guess that's fantasy Smiley

There was a barrier there?  lol

It did hover around 47 a tad before moving up again.  But, there isn't a whole lot of psychological barrier going on right now.  Smiley

There will always be psychological barriers..we don't know what to do with total freedom...we need barriers and reasons to keep comparing ourselves with others...ohh, the power of the crowd

indeed, no one would pay $1000000 for a bitcoin at the moment, people seek validation from those around them. If most people are buying at $59.95 no one wants to be the first person to break $60 (i am aware that $60 has already been broken)

It should be quite clear now that there are no psychological barriers. It seems right now buyers are going to buy at any price.

I think that by 2020, provided that some people attending the Bilderberg meetings(for example) don't kill bitcoin, 1 BTC might be worth in the thousands of USD. So I would set much higher psychological barriers, what we're seeing here is just the beginning...

Yes it could help to a small degree. The rise above 50 and higher has been inevitable anyway.

common sense

you think the price will just shoot non stop to $100 without pausing??

It probably will, and we will see some kind of crash again stabilizing at $50-60 by January 2014 when the next boom/bust-cycle will start sending BTC to even greater heights.

bitcoin is going up big time. I am a seasoned trader/economist. As visibility and transparency increases, so will bitcoin's price. I also think enhanced regulation will increase movement away from exchanges, so in a sense there will be an above ground bitcoin market, and a below ground market.
