That's a pretty neat deal. Over here they are about 100 euro's per card... Newegg doesn't ship to the Netherlands, does it?  Grin
Hey I'm in NLD too and I got my 3 at Alternate for 94 each. Otherwise, you could get them from Germany for 88 Euros each... have a couple friends there that will get me some.

where can you get them for 88€ each?

they seem to be a pretty good investment in terms of hashing power per initial cost, how do they perform in the long run? Watts vs. hasing power?

edit: fixed typo
search hardwareschotte.de for 5830. The cheapest one is 88.20 or something, but only if you are referred by the price comparison site. Shipping is also dirt cheap at 3.90 per shipment (not per card!!).

Thanks, any motherboard recommendation? i want this rig to be cheap...I heard MSI 890FXA-GD70 was good because it can fit the 4 video cards, but its $185 with shipping! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130274

The rig is gonna need a wireless card too right? Cheap recommendations there? Thanks so much! Smiley
It is the cheapest choice for four dual-slot cards without extra cables... Btw, I found it for $157 shipped at google shopping.

The $157 price is from a foreign site with 0 reviews Sad
Try a ASRock 890FX Deluxe fpr 106€ - but you will have to Cut the PCIe 1x Slots back-open!

Corsair 950W should be plenty to run 4x5830 considering I have 4x5850's on a Corsair 850W right now with no issues.

Cheers,
Kermee

Think this Corsair 850 watt is enough for (4) 5830 overclocked slightly?

Someone has this setup and it runs fine he says, 750 watts with (4) 5850...i think you guys are overdoing it with 1000+ watts

750Watt GX coolermaster PSU - psu supports 4x 6+2pin power connectors
PhenomII X2 unlocked 4cores underclocked to 1.6ghz and undervolted to 1volt (no cpumining, removes about 90watt from full usage cpu)
1x2GIG DDR3 (fewer ram slots to lower wattage)
1TB SATA HDD 7200rpm
MSI 890FX-ND70 motherboard
4x Sapphire HD5850 1GB cards

I just bought (4) 5830 from the newegg deal and I can't decide whether I should put all 4 in 1 rig, or split them up 2 in a rig and 2 in another.

How powerful of a PSU do I need for (2) 5830? how about for (4) 5830?

Also I'm having trouble finding any motherboard in stock that can fit (4) 5830 right on the motherboard...

If someone helps me I can donate 0.1 BTC

Thanks!

I would put all 4 in one rig. You will need a 1200 watt PSU or if it were me I would go with 2x 800watt tied together with

You can use PCIe x1 slots for your 5830's with this cable
https://cablesaurus.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=11

You do not need to use the molex for power on your 5830, he is out of the non-powered version right now it looks like.

So just find a mobo that has 4 of any combo of PCIe slots, get cables if needed and you are rocking! if this helped you and you wish to, donations can be sent to:
