7-Steroids (what the hell.. break all the rules and several laws)
steroids weren't illegal in america when he was competing and still arent in most of the world
I'm just updating the list for the 21st century. There is no doubt in my mind that the entirety of his success hinges on the use of performance-enhancing steroids. His career began with his Mr. Olympia title (7-time champion).
Also, studies indicate that anabolic steroid use correlates to hypomania. This on hypomania from Wikipedia:
Characteristic behaviors are extremely energetic, talkative, and confident commonly exhibited with a flight of creative ideas.[1] While hypomanic behavior often generates productivity and excitement, it can become troublesome if the subject engages in risky or otherwise inadvisable behaviors.[2] When manic episodes are "staged" according to symptomatic severity and associated features, hypomania constitutes the first stage, or stage I, of the syndrome, wherein the cardinal features (euphoria or heightened irritability, pressure of speech and activity, increased energy and decreased need for sleep, and flight of ideas) are most plainly evident.
In other words:
1- Believe In Yourself
2-Break The Rules
3-Don't Be Afraid To Fail
4-Don't Listen To Nay Sayers
5-Work Like Hell
So in fact, the list (almost in its entirety) could be replaced by
1-Steroids
2-Give Some Back (I guess during your non-hypomanic state)
Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against him and I was entertained by his movies... though I'm sure I would not have voted him into public office given the opportunity.
Sly did the same thing...
