Instead of buying mining hardware that probably never ROI´s und consumes lots of kw/h, you could buy Ghash on a Cloud Mining Platform like Cex.io.
The advantage is that you could trade your Ghash while they mine for you. If the price per Ghash is low, you can buy. After purchase of Ghash they immediately start to mine for you. When the price per Ghash is high, you can sell your Ghash. Then you had profit from trading AND from mining. But don´t be to greedy, the long term, the price per Ghash goes down. But with daytrading it´s easy to increase your BTC.

The drawback is that you can´t fund with fiat. You have to buy BTC first.

Dont invest in cex.io... ghash.io their pool was nearly at 51% of the hashing power. Thats bad news...

I would create a setup thats great for mining alt coin. You would end up with 3 beast PC;s that have great resale value.

Soo winner winner gonna mine some chickendinner coin??

I'm sure that will be a coin soon.

So what you thinking for your 6k??? You could get a fair few Mhash for 6k.

Any thoughts on making a rig?? I've seen some people really go to town making great looking machines.

I still have not decided what to do.. i don't want to lost money..  Grin

There have been very few times in the history of bitcoin when buying mining gear paid off better than just buying coins.

Buy mining gear if:

  • you have insider access to new gear that's not available to the general public yet
  • you have unlimited free power and a very reliable internet connection
  • you love gambling and can afford to lose your investment

Otherwise buy coins directly and do your part to build the bitcoin economy.

I really appreciate your opinion.. you're really so sure that the price of bitcoin will increase? everyone say to buy and hold.. but i am not so sure to invest so much money, for something that i can't control.. i was pretty sure that invest on hardware was better.. but as i say, i don't know if try with antminer, or script rig, or wait some time for watch what happen.. but more time i wait, more i realize i am wasting time..

If you buy mining gear you're just as much exposed to the Bitcoin-price. If the Bitcoin-price drops, your mining output measured in $ will drop along side it.

The fact of the matter is that right now, buying X BTC worth of Bitcoin mining gear will with very high probability not yield more than X BTC of total income. So no matter what the Bitcoin-price does, you're most likely getting better returns from just buying coins than from buying Bitcoin-mining gear.

Scrypt-mining is a nice alternative, but it's also quite a competitive environment, so don't expect to just plug in a machine, fire it up and watch the money flood in. To maximize returns you have to mine different coins at different times. Additionally, a $6K investment means you'll have several machines running, which increases the amount of work you have to do to maintain everything.

hi all^^
this is my question.. if you have got 6k dollar, to invest in mining hardware, how you invest them?
i was going to buy 4 Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S Miner. but i don't know if is the good way.

this website is safe?
http://sushi-review.com/bitmain-antminer-s1-180gh-s-miner.html

or, it's better invest in some rig of 280x for mine script coin?
I have some doubts.. help me!
Cheesy

Build your own rigs and start mining ALT-Coins and trading them for BTC

OR purchase BFL hardware for BTCitCoin mining or purchase the new top end ASIC (sold out on pre-orders) ..i think*

The antminer is definetly the best choice . Theyre known to ship very quickly and offer a fair price. Youre not going to do much better then breakeven with them but youre not going to do much worse either.

Bene fretta e decidere!

I think scrypt mining will be the safe option if you are worried about losing.

Trading is a worrying world.

Invest in my Group Buy some of them, i have last 185 shares available eq 185 ghs at 0,007 btc gh/s = 1,295 btc.
You can make about 3 btc in 3-6 month with them.

i don't like so much buy shares sorry

nothing worth buying right now. specially not gpu-s and scrypt mining!
you have nice amount of money! stick with it and wait for next generation of miners (5-7TH) and be fast  on ordering!

i think 5-7 th will be not soon aviable for 6k dollar..

Mine scrypt instead of BTC. Cheaper to get into and has a better resell.

Plenty of multipools that will make mining and selling to BTC easy.

there are a lot of new script coin, and sometime someone of them will be a great deal.. and if mined immediately when born, can make you earn a lot...

Send it to me, I'll make good use of it  Cool

On a more serious note. I guess investing is better, like buying/selling stuff. If you have the time and expertise for it.
Investing in hardware is kinda risky due to the growing difficulty.
