I read about this on reddit and it was an amazing read, the screenshot from his phone made my eyes roll backwards.
If possible please add the screenshot to the post. It'll make people have a good memory get added to the personal photo gallery. We don't know to what extent the growth is gonna happen, and this will surely make some inner feel when we see such screenshot after years.
Myself searched for the Screenshot, I don't know whether it is the true one or not. Truly good to see the screen of the mobile.

For all the Bitcoiners 2021 gave a good and a big start with its growth. From the end of the year 2020 the growth got initiated, and the same got followed by the year 2021.

Here it was about a student and a redditer BitcoinHolderThankU who have got back his wallet recovered after 9 years. The earning he made out of watching videos, taking surveys and other stuffs during those days for the purpose of gaming with the currency have made him fortune. The wallet was found with 127 bitcoin and he has sold everything after finding the private key from his old computer. The net value for which he has sold is $4.2m and if he has kept hold for another few weeks he could've got more $1m.

Is he lucky, and this is the best start for a person in 2021 Smiley

That is massive earnings already and he is lucky that he sold it this time because of the huge spike in the price of BTC in the crypto market. I mean, that's a lot of trouble to get that keys especially when you save them on your old computer. unlike us, those people have some warehouse on their homes they can easily get it back. good for that man, he can know buy things he wants with that money. as for those who lost their keys then that's just the way it is. the BTC is not for them to spend with.

For sure, there must still be a lot of ongoing recovery attempts of people's old Bitcoins in their discarded hard drives, junked laptops and PCs, old wallets, and whatnots right now. 1 whole of a Bitcoin was nothing before. It was worthless. As a matter of fact, 50 BTC was just a tiny amount you could easy get from a faucet. Well, times have changed. A lot! Buying 1 BTC today would already cost us a fortune.

Very lucky for BitcoinHolderThankU he/she got his/her old Bitcoins after almost a decade. His/her story is another addition on the list of lives significantly changed by Bitcoin.

The year 2021 has broken all known barriers to this day. Bitcoin has increased 900% since its lowest level in 2017, according to Bloomberg. Bitcoin's sudden rise overshadowed the rise of all assets.

For sure even if it was already expected that Bitcoin will continue to rise which have started from the late weeks December 2020, up until this early stage of year 2021, still many of us got surprised that Bitcoin will bump another 2 ATH price markers which are $30,000 and $40,000 in just a short span of time that have surely triggered those people from the past that have hold Bitcoin for too long and have already loose hope to recover their accounts on making impossible things possible to regain access on their Bitcoins that have been stocked for so many years and luckily be able to make use of them now that Bitcoin is a lot more valuable compared to when they have purchased or attained those Bitcoins way back it was first established where the price is still cheap. So lucky for those people who have managed to regain or recover their access to those Bitcoins of them and benefit from the current situation Bitcoin is lying in.

Yes, he is lucky. He really makes a lot of money from bitcoin, and now he can buy anything he wants without trouble.
Having 127 bitcoin now means a lot to him, especially after discovering his wallet after 9 years.
Fortunately, he can found his lost wallet and change his life to be better than before.
I am sure that this year is a big start for him, and he becomes a billionaire with that money.
Congratulations to him.

In my own opinion, I think this goes beyond more than being lucky, it is as well about trust and believe in an innovation like Bitcoin, that is, he believed in Bitcoin for him to carryout those tasks and so on, not only that he also accepted the form of payment even though there was not much about Bitcoin. The good thing is, those who believed in Bitcoin at the onset are reaping the good reward today, thus it means that once you come across any innovative technology with good potentials, at least give it a trial for the future. Actually, yes, it is the best way to start his year and this also goes as far as showing to the world that Bitcoin is really the most secured and the future as well, because it stayed for 9 years without being tampered or hacked or stolen. And to be frank, everyone who have had something of any kind to do with Bitcoin will be on the lookout for their old computers, harddrive etc in order to recover their Bitcoins, and we might be seeing news like this soon as well as other heartbreaking news for those who couldn't recover theirs thus seeking for help of any kind.

Nice, 127 bitcoin stucked in an old wallet and recovered today when the price boomed.  The time where he earned bitcoin by watching videos 9years ago when bitcoin's price wasn't that high value as of today makes him become millionare today. .
That's totally true. I can't imagine what he's feeling right now. But I've read from another post that he will not buy anything luxurious or whatsoever. That's so humble of him even he got such a huge amount. Guess the saying those who humble themselves are lifted is real. Bless him.

Well, enjoying his luck and fortune this 2021. Also an inspiration to those who still locked their bitcoin or forgot/misplace their passwords and seed phrase too
I don't know about that. I mean, not all have same experience. He may retrieve his bitcoins but others might not. I'm not being a buzz kill but I also don't want others to have false hopes. Just saying though. Still hoping for the best for them.

He's lucky indeed. He don't mind if bitcoin will still go up at the end of this year and for the next years to come. It's like the best money that he got freely for the entire year for which made him welcome this year with millions of dollars.

He is unlucky on the other hand because he sold the 127BTC at a price around $33k
and its now correcting back up and at $35k and going higher sooner or later.
He's still lucky having that millions of dollar. I understand that he don't care if it rises to $40k again or $35k or any higher price. What matters to him is that he has the money ready and it's $4.2m which is enough for him to live well off for the rest of his life.

It was the luck he had. Luckily his old computer wasn't lost or damaged so he was able to recover his bitcoins. And he has taken the right decision to sell everything because, in the near future, there will definitely be a correction which will give rise to a bear market.
in a situation like this it would not be wise to do it quickly to sell bitcoin because bitcoin will continue to move up this year and will reach fantastic value which will happen and will make ATH renewable again.

This year is also the year where altcoins will increase sharply and there will be a new ATH for top-ranking altcoins, of course this will excite the bounty because there will be new altoin with prices that will increase as well as in 2017.

so keep holding your bitcoins and if possible there is a decrease in the of time to buy and hold and sell quickly because bitcoin has become a short term. also don't miss the altcoins that are about to rise sharply.

Imagine knowing that you have 127 bitcoins that cannot be recovered. Torture.  Tongue
2020 is gone for good for that guy.

I would be honest, I would say that he is a very lucky person that he was able to recover his bitcoins. I wish all the others who have old wallets be able to recover them and be able to get money out of it. As for me I just continue with my trading and was able to get good profits as well, whether bitcoin is very high or very low all that matters is that we get more than we invest in trade. And good luck again to all of us starting this year.
If someone finds so many bitcoins, then it slightly affects the market. You shouldn't be happy if someone finds lost bitcoins. Imagine if something like that was true. There would be dips coming...

This seems like a stupid move to me! How much money does one need anyways? Why not just cash out $1 million and enjoy life while keeping the rest.
True, one million dollars are fine by me! I would keep the rest bitcoins for x,y reasons. Having 90-100 bitcoins in 2040-2050 may be so huge wealth.

This seems like a stupid move to me! How much money does one need anyways? Why not just cash out $1 million and enjoy life while keeping the rest. That sounds like a no-brainer to me, since even if price dropped a lot the rest would still be worth a lot and you still have that $1 million but since the chance of the price going up A LOT more is so much higher holding on to the rest (which would be about 100 bitcoin) seems like the only logical move to me.

Anyways, good for the rest of us that he sold Wink

Way back getting 127 Bitcoin by just watching videos? I was just anxious to getting to know what exactly could give out that amount of Bitcoin from just performing some simple tasks, although I can say that those days airdrop were even paying higher amount unlike faucet and nowadays that pays worthless fund,.

This 2021 could be a year of starting big for the early investors likewise the miners, although some investors investors lost their keys and can never access their wallets, however the big start may occur to late investors maybe in 2027.

A big thing to start in 2021 is to invest in cryptocurrencies. There are lots of websites who do fake and spam. But I was using Exocrow from last month and in this platform users can earn monthly interest around 12% month.

Yes, but I was hoping tha bitcoin did not reach 40K$ because I was not able to earn or profit in it while bitcoin is cheap. I was not able to anticipate the bull run and I qas hoping that one day hopefully there should be another bullish trend in which I can earn too like what others did. Anyway, I am still thankful that I learn with the current trend of bitcoin.

He is one of the luckiest people who have to get his bitcoin recovered after 9 years. 127 bitcoin and make a profit of about $4.2m is enough for him than never because it was 9 years ago, and fortunately, he can get his wallet again. I can't believe that because I would be desperate to recover the wallet and give up after trying so long. He can feel happy to do that, and now, he gets the reward, a big reward for that. And now, I am sure he will enjoy his moment and celebrate it with his beloved one. No matter what bitcoin price now, he still the luckiest person, and he can buy more bitcoin with that money, especially if the price drops too deep.

I don't even think it's luck tbh. Even if he unlocked his wallet a few years back, he'd still be having quite a huge profit assuming his coins came from as he said, 8 maybe 9 years back, where BTC price was around what, single, double digits. It doesn't even matter how big his profits were, the point is he made it big, no matter what. Congratulations to him tbh, and Goodluck to others hoping to find the same luck as he did.
*Personally, I won't sell it completely. Most of his cash won't be used (I don't know what he wants to purchase) but if he just deposits it into his bank account, it won't get more over time. He could have easily avoided to cash out more than he needs.
Probably to avoid issues and to let it all be finished in one transaction. Issues may arise with his bank account plus the transaction itself, but hey, we're not the ones who sold it so idrk what he thought of when he did that.
