I don't think so. You just can get at that much Bitcoin on the open market, without raising the price.

Surprised Tim Draper didn't buy more considering his already scalable 25 million dollar "investment"
As far as we know, he could have had bids on the lot, but didn't bid higher than the winners.
Given that he won all the lots in the previous auction, he might have thought he outbid all the others by a large amount.
So most probably he lowered his bids and lost most blocks in the auction.

They won 48000 of the bitcoins and Tim Draper got 2000.

Thanks for the interesting analysis Elwar if the coins are going into Big wallets it means that whoever is stockpiling them will need them for one reason or other, aka bitcoin development.

FBI coins were suppose to bring the market to 200$ or lower according to bears, we have a price of 350$. Maybe we will get to 600$ or more when the FBI auctions news is old.
Nice details i tink i've seen some of these transactions go by on blockchain and couldnt help but wonder who was sending such large amounts at once and what they could possibly be for if not for just money alone
He announced an intention to distribute 300 coin to each startup he's involved in.... so that might move again soon. Not sure if he has decided to go to 500 each from the way he split there, or that's just how he handles his coins.

It seems like most of the coin from this address were sent to this address: https://blockchain.info/address/3LzDzKkatQRXuQ6UxTcWQLuwuhH5nt7TJc
3LZ received a total of 26,850 XBT on 12-08 from 1CV. It has a total of 47,089 as of posting, meaning it already had 20,239.
Also, the 1CV account had alot of activity predating 12-08, dating back to an initial 3,000 XBT transaction in May 5 2013.
The current balance of 1CV would seem to make it the 21st largest single address according to this site: http://bitcoinrichlist.com/top500
So it seems to me like a large chunk of the coin were purchased by a single whale / fund / company.

Bitcoin transaction are transparent so eventually if you are really interested you will know the names. just follow this addresses that was posted here.
Yes I know how the blockchain works, but as you told if they will not say : " I've bought this bitcoin in the fbi auction" we will never know their names.
Maybe you're right , but I think they will use it only for speculate again.
