Once a man, twice a child!
aside from the recommendation, the members have said. I also recommend staying and reading around here in the forum. the forum is basically a crypto hub where you can find information about different cryptocurrencies, blockchain, and anything crypto-related exists.
Yeah, that's the easiest way to grow; not just in this forum alone but outside it too. I doubt if there's anyone here who spends quality time reading up stuff here who can't hold their own outside there in relation to crypto discussions. There are lots of resource materials put out here and made free of any charge for willing posters. I've come to grow on this forum and have learnt great stuff being here, myself. Sometimes, if the knowledge isn't made readily available here there could be links directing one where to get the material.

I've been trying to jump on the crypto train for a while now, but lacked the motive.

I saw this post https://coinful.net/explaining-bitcoin-so-you-can-actually-understand-it/ which was pretty helpful, but I wanted something more.

Can someone provide something more?
I really don't know if you want to learn something about bitcoin or just want to let us review articles from that site, I hope my guess is wrong about you at this point.

As for the question you're asking it looks like you've got a lot of good advice from forum users, you just need to review it now and understand the lesson. I love beginners coming to forums to learn bitcoin, but I think you also still need to improve your interactions with the people who answer your questions. It's also the best way to find out more, so this is just an additional suggestion from me.

Aside from the article links provided by other forum members here you can also see those Bitcoin Documentary videos in youtube and you can learn about the past of bitcoin, the adoption and also the present news about it. There are tons of videos there so better check them up since it is more interested rather than reading a heavy article in my opinion. Also good luck for information finding and that is a good attitude for newbie so that you can get a good start here.
I think it depends on every person with what tickle their interest some might prefer reading a long paragraphs of article or books while the others preferred a video presentation which I myself would choose over reading a long written text. But a documentary might be either interesting or boring if it's too long since I preferred a simple and good answer but if this helps I might as well ready to listen and watch.

And for OP, lots of links and information above me that you can choose and please take your time to read or watch before planning to do something. It's never too late to invest in Bitcoin as long as you understand how this works.

Personally I learn from YouTube, especially when I do not have to have preliminary knowledge about what I want to learn or the technical and economic aspect associated with it so before  I advise you anything, I want to ask for why you want to learn? If the financial and savings side is better to read about money, how do it begin and develop down to the centralization --> decentralization so reading The rich Dad and poor Dad is good as a beginning.

Either if you want to learn the technical aspects watch aantonop - YouTube channel[1], will give you concepts and then you will be prepared to read Mastering Bitcoin 2nd Edition Book.

There are lot of resources available online and on forum as well to which can give you accurate idea about how Bitcoin works and you will be sound enough to tell others about them but you have to be keen to grab that knowledge and implement it.The members have already told you some useful links about articles, videos, books and guides which you can go through and have sufficient knowledge to get familiar with bitcoin and how it is changing the world.

Here are some useful links you can go through to help you in that case :

5 Resources to teach Average Joe about Bitcoin

Some Books we need to read

The best is to read Mastering Bitcoin 2nd edition by Andreas Antonopoulos which will take you to Bitcoin journey from scratch to pro even if you lack technical knowledge about it and there are many more which you can take advantage of later on but first of all try these listed resources for your benefit and you will have good knowledge.

Why not read the wiki instead?
Here's the link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin and this https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin

Or go directly on the Bitcoin wiki here https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Main_Page
As good as the Wiki can be, it isn't really a good learning resource for those that are new. Bitcoin needs to be explained in a newbie friendly way, there's too much jargon, and technical terms on the wikipedia, and could potentially scare off new users. I know usually the technical terms have their own pages which explains their meanings, but really a new user needs to learn the fundamentals before getting caught up in the technical details.

Everything is on the internet you can simply research it, if you like video tutorials there are hundreds of them on Youtube.  It's very easy now to learn about Blockchain and Bitcoin functions.
Problem with that; especially when you're new is there's no real way of telling whether the information your being fed is actually accurate. Especially Bitcoin, there's so much misinformation around it, that it can be difficult for experienced users, let alone someone that is new looking to learn.

Don't rely upon a single source of information to understand what is Bitcoin, should have at least 3-4 sources so that you can compare which one has told the truth.  There are too many articles now that mislead newbies on having false information, you should always be aware of this.

As a newbie to this space, you should also be wary of wrong information, there are so many of those on the internet, especially about Bitcoin. Opening the article, the first line after the intro says; "Bitcoin is the first-ever invented digital currency.". This is not correct, rather Bitcoin is the first decentralized cryptocurrency.
Also, I could make out this line;
"Each block has its own cryptographic puzzle, and the unique solution represents 1 Bitcoin and the current state of all pending transactions.".

Always verify any information you get online, that in itself is one of the mantras of Bitcoin; do not trust, verify.

Of course.

Also, note that whenever you have a question or a technical misunderstanding, you can ask it here. This community is a treasure regarding knowledge.

I'd discourage a newbie on watching those. They may get themselves confused. I highly recommend watching the following if you're new at this field: But how does bitcoin actually work? of 3Blue1Brown.
