You can't speed up your activities as it increase during a fixed period but your inactivity will make it stagnant at same rank.
You must post atleast 2 posts every week and need not worry about your activity as it will definitely go up with time.
Activities are not counted manually so there is no chance of human error. It is automated and if something wrong happens, it will affect everyone not just you

In addition, activity update times are approximately every other Tuesday. Here are the actual timestamps for when they are updated:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1dDySMB2lsOIIkUXuax2rXL30gv656E4xTsFcC2zQHkg/pubhtml

Note that you must post at least once in an activity period to gain the potential activity. For example, if you had posted 100 posts this activity period and none in the subsequent ones, you would not rank up. However, if you did post on the next one, all the potential activity would turn directly into activity; the 14 activity would be added to your account (updated after every ~30 mins) since you have enough posts to satisfy its maximum.

My status is still shown as newbie. How many posts does it take me to the next rank?
30 posts.

To get a higher rank you should post or reply in this forum 14 time for 2 weeks. If you exceed more than14 post for 2 weeks, you will still gain 14 activities.

Yay now I have 29 and after this, there will be only one left to level up!

Nope. You won't. You would need 30 activity before leveling up to next rank(Jr. Member)

Jr. Member:   Activity: 30
Member:           Activity: 60
Full Member:   Activity: 120
Sr. Member:   Activity: 240
Hero Member:   Activity: 480

And activity is calculated:
The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Activity is updated every hour.

You already got 28 activity, just 2 more and you'll level up. ^^

Not easy like that. You just only get 14 activity in 2 weeks. If you want your level up, in this case to jr.member, you need atleast 30 activity, that's mean you need spend here atleast 1,5 month. 14+14+14=42.
