But, with a seperate board, we could have more active members, it's not easy to have discussion on such a thread.
So you're saying by creating a separate board you are magically going to get active members? I thought it's the other way around. Get more active members and then you have a chance of getting a separate board.

Sounds stupid but I would donate X times more to have own board because it's needed for the globalization of BTC.
Well, good for you.

Not exactly true, it's something like they are afraid of posting in Bengali with a thought that if they publish their nationality, govt may target them and trace.
Does your government really have authorities that lurk around the forum looking for posters in your language and target them? Like how can they trace people without having the IP address or anything? I don't recollect theymos mentioning he is actively giving IP addresses of people from your country to the government.

I have had talked with theymos on this. It's true that our dedicated thread isn't much active. Barely senior people post there. Only newbies go there and ask some questions sometime. Most of the time, they do spam to increase activity as well.
But, with a seperate board, we could have more active members, it's not easy to have discussion on such a thread. Once I had written a post here. But it's not anymore be visible to the visitors since it has been buried.

You need active memers before a board is created. It's pointless creating an entire sub if there's no demand for it. You could delete and repost your content it if you feel it's relevant or perhaps link to it somehow. Even if you had your own sub board then that post or thread would still get buried.

Wait. Read that again. And with that logic, their identities are safe from the government without the special board?

If this was true then surely having an entire sub board would make this worse.

Yeah but some extra money to fund the spam busting operations will benefit the forum as a whole. And donating like 0.001 or 0.005 BTC each as a one-time payment to have your own board wouldn't hurt when you're making much more than that off the campaigns here.

Bitcointalk isn't that much poor that theymos need to raise fund to create a local board and maintain it.

Bengali board will not get much attention since most of them are trying to hide their identity because of the laws on cryptocurrency by its govt.

Theymos should maybe implement a small business plan to give members their own country/language boards. He should keep a certain amount that the members of that community should raise. Now, that amount should be easily contributed if members of the community are serious it. The money raised can be used to combat spam or get more moderators to do things.

You can start up a thread for your language right here
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=11.0

OP is a member and they can't create a thread unless they are not a Sr Member. You can try and check it yourself.
A local board is needed and would really be helpful but as long as there's not much activity, theymos will not create one.

I had also felt there should be a board for my indigenous language and so do people form different languages that have not yet gotten their local board.

But on a second thought my country was colonised by the British and English to a great extent is spoken and so is Bangladesh which was also colonized by Britain and speaks English also.

Let's not be greedy here it's not about which language is the most spoken but it's about the forum maintaining a healthy standard.

Bengali is the eighth most spoken language in the world and beside being a regional language of India, it's also the official language of the country of Bangladesh Tongue

I kinda feel like it should deserve its own board like other major languages and totally not because it is my native language ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) as it will help the emerging enthusiasts of the people of this language who are not fluent in English and it is hard to communicate through separate threads under the Bengali section in the Indian regional language space as it gives no option to categorize topics rather limit it to a particular discussion at a time.

I don't know if I am posting it in the wrong section or if it is already suggested so be soft on me  Cheesy

It has been requested multiple times before:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/local-board-request-for-bengali-4455886
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/need-a-bangla-board-in-local-section-1496914

But I'm not sure if it's necessary right now as the Bengali thread isn't that active. Local subs are only usually added to meet demand when a thread has become messy or unfit for purpose. They're not merely added just because a language is one of the most spoken or an official language of a country. If you want your own sub board then spread the word among Bengalis of this forum and if the local thread grows in popularity then a local board may be added.
