Is there actually any future for clone-coins like FTC and NMC? Is it possible to mine any new coin with fpga's?

I guess i'm still pretty new at this but I'm not really sure you can trust any of the ALT coins. BTC, LTC and PPC seem to be the only 3 worth putting hardware into.
The only one which have real potential is BTC.LTC is something like sub-economy for btc, but very small and no real potential to grow. Maybe it works fine just as it is. Anyway, wasted time.

Powercoin started today. I don't know how long it will last, but you might be able to mine some and hold on to them in case they do amount to something.

Regardless of whether they are pump and dumps, if you know how to place orders you can make handsome dividends trading them

I guess, although that tune might be changing when ASIC miners start pushing GPU miners out of the ring. LTC will be where they end up me thinks. /shrug I'm new what do i know

I believe altcoins show a fair bit of promise, you just have to choose the right ones 
I tried feathercoin and the value was less than half the next day. I got out of feathercoin quick lol.
In my opinion if bitcoin fails for any reason, i don't see any reason why people would jump on any other altcoin, atleast for a very long time. Its bitcoin or fiat.
Ripple is not open source and it's centralised. Don't support them!!!
