Catching up with what's going on or what's going to happen is a big part of bitcoin world for sure. I am not saying that do your investments accordingly, you can decide to ignore some of them but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't be checking up on them just in case. I do not care about some stuff neither to get involved but I do check to see how they are doing as well, mainly some altcoins that I would never invest into, but still look at it.

You could have the same situation here as well where you check it and then just decide to ignore it, wouldn't be a problem. Of course, it would be wiser if you align your investments on big dates as well, that's quite good move.

A calendar with important dates of Bitcoin is a good idea and may even be useful to someone, but I still want to praise the initiative of the creators of this website. For me, such a calendar is superfluous, because when all the important dates of Bitcoin come, someone here will definitely create a topic or write a comment, which means I will know about it. Not infrequently, competitions are held in honor of the celebration of such days, held for more than one day. So, anyway, this news will fall into my field of vision. Is there a topic dedicated to the remarkable dates of Bitcoin on this forum?

Indeed, although the idea is not bad, few people are interested in everyday life. It is exciting when some important date will come for the whole world of cryptocurrency, like 100 years of bitcoin, and then it will be interesting for everyone to see how this technology has developed for an entire century! What were the successes and failures?

MAaaN...!! CUT THAT STUPID SHIT
Very simple website but still needs some updating.
This will indeed be very helpful to know some of the events that will occur. Can contribute to any event related to bitcoin.

There is a subscribe feature for Google Calendar, Outlook and iCalendar and it can be synchronized, so it can be a reminder or alarm on a date that has a bitcoin event, so you won't forget it.

This is a really nice job. The calendar is also more like an educative tool too, many of us don't know most of this information about Bitcoin and this will aid with that and I believe as some have pointed out there might be more updates about Bitcoin history that are presently missing that could be updated too. I think it's pretty cool.

Btw, it looks like the website is owned by the one who owns Coldcard. I guess that's why Coldcard-related products are deemed historically important for them.
But since it's made only to advertise Coinkite and the products they're selling, I fear that there won't be much of effort put into that page (however, it's already pretty good).
This is the only thing that bothers me on this good-looking Bitcoin calendar [considering how organized everything is, they could've easily added others on the list and I do know we can also contribute, but still...]!

Is there a topic dedicated to the remarkable dates of Bitcoin on this forum?
Found a bunch of old threads related to that:

making it fit better on screens (in my case it fits only if I reduce it to 75%).
Alternatively, you can switch to list view.

I suddenly imagined a time when our children would take exams about the most significant events and dates about bitcoin, as we did when we studied some important historical events.
Everything is gradually moving toward digitalization; one can hope that one day the study of bitcoin will become mandatory, and similar sites, which we are considering with interest today, will only improve and delight with their events.

This is the first post on bitcointalk.org

Welcome to the new Bitcoin forum!
The first post/thread in bitcointalk is satoshi testing the forum -- not this official welcome message. You can see it on the url with topic=XXXXX

Topic 3 was deleted years ago, and it is unknown what happened to it. Topics 1 and 2 were satoshi doing some tests, and topic 4 was some administrative notes left by satoshi.

See below for PDFs of the first topics:
topic 1
topic 2
topic 4

As an FYI, there are links to the above topics in the link you referenced.

That's right, November 22 was supposed to be an important event that should be on the calendar's records because it's a forum that is getting bigger now but I think Satoshi Nakamoto started from here.

But can this important event be added to the calendar https://bitcoin.holiday/ ?
~snip~

Anyone can suggest more dates to be added directly from the github repo:

It's a nice looking website, but they have to work a little more on it - from possibly missing dates to making it fit better on screens (in my case it fits only if I reduce it to 75%).

Interesting! However, they forgot to include the date when Satoshi Nakamoto introduced bitcointalk.org. It's empty on November 22.

I mean, isn't bitcointalk one of the most significant events in the history of bitcoin? For that, we even held a 10-year anniversary art contest  Cheesy

Did Satoshi actually introduced bitcointalk.org? I know Satoshi started the original bitcoin.org forum, but I think the move to bitcointalk.org was a decision made between theymos and Sirius, with consensus among other old members. If I'm not mistaken, Satoshi was already gone at that time.

Thanks for sharing the calendar, op. I looked through all the events, and while some are famous and familiar to me (Mt Gox, Pizza Day, Lightning Pizza), there were also many I've never heard of. On the calendar, it also seems like July is the most uneventful month, with only Shitcoin day being there, which isn't even a Bitcoin thing. What I think could make this calendar better is more events. If they have Mt Gox, they could do dates related to some top exchanges or a date the firt exchange was opened if it's known. Also, days when major Bitcoin wallets became available (if such dates can be traced) would be nice. Finally, if there's a day when Bitcoin reached 4 figures, why not add the day with 5 figures as well? A Bitcointalk date should also be there, as Maus0728 pointed out.
And given that there are only two countries where Bitcoin is legal tender, the second one (Central African Republic) can be added to the calendar as well since El Salvador is already there.

I thought I can use it to view the timeline of Bitcoin history, turns out it just lists everything that happened on a specific date. Not that bad I suppose. This is indeed a handy way to get to know Bitcoin's past. Part of knowing Bitcoin is knowing its history. And I guess Bitcoin becomes more interesting after knowing what it went through to reach what it is now. As a matter of fact, there is that nostalgic feeling when reading very old threads in this forum.

One of the good features of this site is that everybody can contribute. There is that button on the upper right hand corner which leads you to Github to make your contribution.

I was exploring the website and looking for some years, LOL. But it isn't needed because for each day and date on the calendar, there's already the historical event on that date.

Those important historical dates that are not there can be contributed so that it will be included on the website.

I found this website: https://bitcoin.holiday

It shows significant dates for Bitcoin over the entire year in an easy to browse way.

I was looking for something like this and this seems to be rather nicely done, so I wanted to share it here.

It also gives you the option to subscribe to the calendar, which is very handy.

I think it's good to remember Bitcoin history, and celebrate it.

I checked the website and the site is nice but there is a question came to my mind. Does bitcoin has holiday? How? Does it mean those days there will be no mining and transactions? Those holiday days indicating on the calendar are for Nations and international holidays. I have not experience bitcoin holiday, I have only experience bitcoin pizza day. Probably the days in which Countries adopt bitcoin, the date bitcoin was created, and other great things (events) that have happened in bitcoin, but those events are not holidays but just an events therefore, if I am to suggest a title, I have used "Bitcoin Event days calendar". That not withstanding, the Creator of the site knows what he is doing.

Also thanks for bringing this to the forum. At least we have known the major events that that to bitcoin in the time past and will know the ones to come.

This is actually making sense in having important dates of bitcoin recorded on a giving platform serving the reference purpose over the time since bitcoin was created, it also gives more expositions to sone fact with respect to dates about bitcoin, i see this also helping those who needed information about dome specific areas of bitcoin network get an accurate answer to what they may enquire, also to those thinking the digital currency bitcoin is going down, i think the records will help them understand the trend in volatility over years with each ATH.

Many interesting events have happened to the world of bitcoin that am not aware of. Thanks for sharing this. Every month has her remarkable events that took place during that time.

I just believe that the owner will keep updating it as time progresses cause some histories are yet to take place and taken record about bitcoin

Past milestones, incidents and events have lot of meaning for the market. Market makers try to use those dates to create news and big movements on the market. You will receive positive or negative news around Bitcoin Holidays. Honestly, I don't know using the term Bitcoin Holiday calendar is correct or not. For me it seems a little bit inaccurate.

Anyway, thank you OP by sharing this informative website. I don't have to bookmark such days on my own.

A lot of great things have happened to Bitcoin and I think the Bitcoin calendar is a good idea as major phenomena happen frequently and should be listed on specific dates. This will be valid and confirmed as shocking news. Including the date, El Salvador as a Bitcoin-adopting country is already on the list in June. This is quite interesting because it can remind me personally of other big news stories about Bitcoin.

Hell how can I don't know Lazlo Hanyecz came back to buy pizza with Lightning network on February 25th, 2018 because what I only know the bought 2 pizza worth of 10,000 BTC at that time.

Thanks for sharing this because there's few events more I didn't know before.
