late in 2011, i made my first BTC transaction on October 30 of that year.
I remember the first few times Bitcoin and alts making huge moves up and down, and
I, unfortunately, let the market's volatility decide my moves for me. I'd be a millionaire
many times over now if I had just held on and had the courage of my convictions.

It can be difficult, loved ones and media declaring crypto deceased every other month,
but don't let it get to you. We are strong, we are capable. We will last. It's easy to say
"ignore the volatility", but I understand wanting to watch your investment and see how it does. But this is long-term, just remember that.
don't worry just hold your coins, don't sell and wait for it.

Well at least someone really has said it. This is what I have always been talking about on almost every post I make for quite some time now. To always do their research and look back on the past years of bitcoins and other altcoins so that they can get a grasp on what is really happening. So they can really see that somehow there really is a pattern here. Although I cannot say that it is very accurate, but it can really save you from all the worries and big losses. And it would also really help if they just take into consideration the most over said advice here in the crypto world which is only invest money that you can afford to lose. Although doing this will never really get rid of your worries since it is still your money that you have invested, at least it will minimize the panic when all you get to see on your portfolio are red. But beware, because even if holding really pays off(on some coins of course), you will have to observe properly the coin you are invested in. Because no two crypto currencies are exactly the same. Meaning, you will really have to set a mark or a realistic number of profit in your portfolio that you need to reach so you can sell. Never let your greed or panic cloud your decisions, if you really believe in that investment, then go ahead and hold. And when you get to the mark, even when you think you know that it isn't the peak rise yet, take your capital and look for other investments or buy more on corrections. Remember that it is better to regret not getting the amount of profit you could've gotten than to regret because you lost all your potential profits together with your capital.

I may have probably said too much, I just got carried away. but anyways, thanks for this great post man, you deserve a merit so imma give you one. Smiley

Great words for people who just started trading. It is not easy to just say don't sell your coins because not all people have the same tolerance and level of patience but what you need to do is control first your emotions. Once you can control your emotions then the rest of your attitude towards bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will just follow. It won't be easy but it will be worth it once you can handle to hold your coins, best you'd hold them for long term rather than short term.

Yes, optimistic and realistic at the same time, if we were not afraid once we could be rich now. So we should learn from mistakes.

Thanks for sharing your story. We should have more of this from guys like you who have been into btc from the early days. This kind of stories is what the newbies need for encouragement and putting their trust into BTC's futures. We dont want any FUD to make them lose their hope and trust in btc. We need to hear success stories from btc hodlers and believers.

We need to stick together, if we fall to this news then the price can fall down really deep, volatility in crypto is a very common thing, major correction is expected as the market in December has grown in strange behaviour, for me bitcoin price is still in a good shape, this few days the market has shown a little bit rising, I think this can be a little relief for the one that keep worry bitcoin price wont come back

Yes. Here benefits are on a long term basis and immediate profits could not be expected. Many early birds have left this crypto market without actually knowing its potential and they now regret for it. At that time, bitcoin's potential was unproven and so its quite logical to think that most of us would be willing to stay away from such innovations which haven't been proved. But now, it's not the same situation and everyone is aware of bitcoin's potential and any wise person would not be willing to miss such a chance.

How many BTC you already sell at that price ?
Too many people didnt realize that blockchain and bitcoin technology will grow up like this in that time. Social media and sharing news platform still slow to roaring the words about bitcoin.

And now all people are realize that, this stuff really fill up your real wallet.

you are very right. I experienced something like that last year when I bought btc at $2200 and it dropped to just $1800 and got myself out thinking that was the end of bitcoin but it didn't end there. Eventually I bought at $5600 and still holding till now so to those who bought at a price higher than the current one, take it as a long term plan you made and I believe you will smile sooner than you were thinking of.
Most people are taking their profit and will come soon to stay with us again, it isn't something new and for that matter don't panic sell your coins for them as they are coming again.

Most of the people buying are not in for the long term, they are just waiting to make some quick money here and there and because of that, they are always losing money as a result. One must invest for the long term and stop thinking about short term profits.

You know what? Most of the people who are saying "Hold" are the one who did not care of his money. They did not need their invested money so its okay for them to invest it and hold unlike for those poor people, they think that it is better to withdraw their coins in the real world than to waste by time. They need a money.

True. But you shouldn't be investing money that you need on a day to day basis. Only invest what you can afford to lose.

If you are one of those people who bought when the prices were higher than they are now, here is an option for you: lend the coins out on Poloniex. You will slowly increase your stash, which means that your average purchase price lowers. If and when prices recover, you should make a nice profit.

Ignore the volatility, three letter word that wipe out worries for bitcoin. It turns out like aiding these up and fall value trauma or even phobia of bitcoin. Volatility had become part of the bitcoin so is risk. Now, if you are really to ignore such obstacles then you could absolutely focus to your goals.

People should believe more in bitcoin and Hold it. It's really a wealth if you use smartly your mind. There's a thousands of people who regret now because in the past they have a huge amount of btc, if they keep it until now, they will be millionaires.  The problem, they can't know that bitcoin will succeed like that, but there is few people who believe and hold their coins until now, They are too lucky and maybe smart too.

It is often difficult to look past all the FUD in times of massive price changes. The other day my wife sent me a video by Jordan Belfort ( Wolf of Wall Street)
He was absolutely trashing Crypto, telling everyone to sell as it was going down to zero. He mentioned that the Governments would never let it grow any further as they would regulate it and control it and he would never buy Bitcoin.

And l am sure that he may never Buy Bitcoin, but l will guarantee you that he would short it using future contracts. All of them have a motive behind there statements and it is not for your benefit, but theirs!

I would say we have to look around too. Don't look something that this will happen must! Just think why will it happen? In this situation I mean bitcoin's price. Why will it rise? The result of high price was low confirm time, high fees, stop people's registration on exchangers and regulations from goverment.
Btw what I can say proudly is that it will, always will be able to achieve the highest price it had in past. But don't have hope of ultra high price like some people post here: 50K and more.

I assume you are a true bitcoin lover, who already has faith in bitcoin like yours in your spouse. truly extraordinary. Like a prepared retirement fund or a passive income or something like that.
But besides that  we must survived for now and future. I agree on a long term investment let  it in  of bitcoin. I have confidence with you. Obviously we have to live that is our homework. "Ignore we have assets in bitcoin" until we reach a purpose.

I wish people will learn on how do some research before they start selling off their bitcoin.
Must persons that are complaining of bitcoin price going down are definitely those that are new to Crypto, they jumped into the Crypto system with first on how it works. before jumping into investing on Crypto try to  know some basics.

As we can see, market crash is not for the first time and it wont be the last one. WE should be patient and keep hodling. It is a very good example from real life. We should think our investment as a long term.

Good point, take note that bitcoin died and cryptocurrency market died a lot just to be where they are today. The deeper the fall, the deeper the bounce. Market volatility is the main reason why cryptocurrencies are profitable. So, just bear the market crash, everything will recover soon. Believe me, it happened a lot, this is not the worst.
