Hello, I am a holder and investor. I invest in several ICOs, some of which I earn, some not, or scam. I am curious to ask the investors in the forum, what criteria do you rate an ICO based on?
we need to look at the project team first and research about them because most if the scam ICO will run with fake profile and then you need to look at the technology of the project if it is unique from available crypto currency then chance of getting successful is high. There are some site are just rating the ICOs based on some stuffs so you may also look that ratings also before investing.

The team and transparent  is very important for me.Last week, My friend tell me about scidex, that time i am little bit confuse, i will join or not? but after joining their team were solid and transparent also. So, team is important. Smiley

If you get support from them you need to show the proof and say that they have appreciate and helped you much. Fact most of the ICO project not helping the investors. If the project is really worthful they do not hesitate to pay for the signature campaign participants in BTC.

Most of the projects does not come to pay the money in BTC and help the participants and get the promotion. If they worry to pay for promotion they are not successful team to grow with mate.

This is an issue that has been handled in multiple threads and I think there is no consensus on this, I say this time as a founding member of an ICO, the most important thing is the team, but not what you can see in Linkedin , there you have only some professional information, and I know many people without title or sometimes without even Linkedin, excellent in their jobs. and in the end, none of these sources is going to tell you in reality if it is an honest person and is oriented to follow the plan or otherwise save it and not leave others adrift.

In my case, I have included the project in multiple evaluation platforms of ICOs and the truth is that none really seems to me honest, while better located or punctuated you see a project, it only means that I pay more, I even have a case, where they published us for free, only to catalog SCAM and ask us for money to take away that situation.

As I said, the team is the key, get close to the team, talk to them directly, question the plans and try to get involved to see if they allow it, so that you invest in a project where they do not want you if not your money, the idea is that your money does something more than make someone rich.

Finally we must understand that we will always make the assessment from our knowledge, and sometimes the objective escapes this, as I always say, our ICO for example does not make notable advances in the technical, but in the commercial, financial and marketing, I understand that people who identify with this, see it very quickly, but those who technically evaluate the project may not. is there, if your knowledge is technical that you must enter, because there you can contribute.

Choosing a successful ICO project is not as easy as expected, of course, to find out some key points for the absence of fraud, then you simply analyze an ICO project that is very interested in you by looking at a good team without the presence of their personal data fraud, by reading whitepaper well because an impostor is so meticulous to commit his deception by meeting the criteria of good ICO criteria as well, the ICO would be very good I think the use of coins / tokens is very useful for current technology needs, because it is potentially very good in any case not just form of investment course, marketing and promotion that determine the success of the project, so be a little careful in making decisions.

Hello, I am a holder and investor. I invest in several ICOs, some of which I earn, some not, or scam. I am curious to ask the investors in the forum, what criteria do you rate an ICO based on?

First of all it is necessary to study the project itself. It is desirable that it is based on a blockchain. Then you need to learn the command. Their experience and connections in the world. Where used to work. What heights have been achieved. And only after that start investing.

For me the best ICO to invest is, an ICO that is having a great and outstanding platform that could be very useful to the holders that can leads the project to success, and of course a great and credible team members, because some ICO's are only having a fabricated team members and don't exist in the real world.

I think we need this criteria to rate ICO:
1. The team composition.
2. The project announcement on the Bitcointalk.org thread.
3. Evaluating the stage of the project.
4. The size of the community and its activity.
5. The token distribution.
6. Evaluating the white paper.

The team matters very well. Information about team members should be readily available as this will inform you about the kind of people who you are trusting your money into their care.

Knowing the project very well,it's purpose and roadmap. Read the white paper and better to know the people holding the project. Another thing I consider if they are active in telegram group, they are answering your question quickly and also my instinct which i felt that the ICO is good and become successful.  But you know sometimes even we know that the ICO project is good to invest but at the end the are failed. Maybe we can't avoid it because i believe the success of every ICO is not just depend on the project itself but it depends on the acceptance of the community which is the demand.

As I know there are so many things need to check when you wanna know about an ICO project like social network account, WP, Roadmap, dev team and main idea of project. Beside I also check traffic of ICO website to see how famous it is Smiley). Beside, I also need to check number of ETH or USD they collected in their private or presale. After all if everything is fine then I'll spend my money to invest Smiley. It's a little bit complicated, right. Grin

Well I do look at
- How far has the project advanced?
Since as an outside investor you don’t get any direct insight into the project, you have to take the publicly available materials as a surrogate marker of the current stage of the project.
If you find an ICO by a company that already has a working product or service, you can consider yourself lucky. These companies have proven that they can deliver, their team has demonstrated that they can work together without killing each other, and thus their chances of further succeeding after the ICO are higher than those of teams with just an idea or a prototype.
- Does the team have a track record?
As mentioned above, previous success is not a guarantee for past success, but somewhat of a soft predictor. So, look at the team’s profiles on the website and check if they have been (provably) involved in prior successes in the crypto world, and if they have solid achievements in other fields, like academia or entrepreneurship.
- the whitepaper
However, the real substance of a whitepaper is in the technical, business and investment details. How do their smart contracts work? What is their technological basis, are they ERC-20 compatible? How are they integrated into the business logic? If the whitepaper doesn’t convincingly explain why the business needs the Blockchain and a token, this does not bode well for the future of the project.
- Observe well, its your money if it doesn't feel right research more and more. Ask questions Facebook, twitter, Bitcointalk

First of all, the team is important to me and if they are transparent and very responsive to the questions it means that they are valuing their investors.

Next is the their platform or project itself, if they are just another project that aims almost nothing then they deserve to be ignored.

Hello, I am a holder and investor. I invest in several ICOs, some of which I earn, some not, or scam. I am curious to ask the investors in the forum, what criteria do you rate an ICO based on?

Some are:

People's feedback on the project
Transparency of the team
Active communication with the community
Good roadmap and development

You said that you already invest in several ICO's, may we know what is your own criteria?
- The roadmap (I have read, however I do not very believe it, because it is simply a promise from the dev team - there is no guarantee)
- The DEV team (I know some devs who have developed some very successful ICOs, and I believe in this criterion most)
- Their community (facebook, twitter, telegram,... )
I would like to hear the opinions of others too, since I am not a professional investor. I just started, and also spent a lot of money with the scam project.
