I always read horror stories of people being scammed, but have never been scammed myself (well except for insignificant amounts when I'm in an extreme hurry or something). There's one simple rule to life. Trust nobody, sure it will cost you opportunities, but when you have very little money, some times you simply cannot afford to be scammed as it could set you back severa months in recovery time.

I've seen numerous clients grumbling about being misled by ICO extends a large portion of them are new financial specialists which presumably going to be the up and coming age of speculators in digital money industry. I've been here in the digital currency industry for multi year and I've put into various activities and perceived how they vanish in the thin air, so to evade this I need to share to you my criteria on picking the privilege ICO or venture to put resources into.

This isn't ensured yet perhaps in some point it might help you atleast to decrease the likelihood on getting defrauded by ICO's, the rundown underneath are my own criteria how I pick Project to contribute with utilizing bitcoin or other cryptographic money:

Check the Background of the group (If the group didn't give information about every individual from the group, for example, name past ventures, foundation, and so on. There's a probability that they will simply flee with your cash in the event that they didn't give data's about their group.)

Read their whitepaper and look if it's extremely worth to contribute with, their idea, and so on. (This is critical to recognize what the venture is about.)

Check the Social media accounts, If you think that its extremely fascinating adequate. (Join their message bunch so as to be refreshed.)
Check the Projects polished methodology (How they handle clients, control cheats, and so forth.)
Take after their Roadmap and other specialized points of interest and check whether they meet it on time.
Search for the undertakings network and check whether the network is dynamic.
Search for unique evidence and approval.

Do your own particular research about the undertaking, for example, survey about the ventures or you can likewise check the activities ANN string to see remarks who's concur/differ or the networks thought regarding the task in light of the fact that ANN strings resembles an open discussion where you can ask, give bits of knowledge, and so forth.

Yes, nowadays the scams are increasing so it becomes very important to be careful while investing in anything. Whitepaper is the mains source of all the info about the project. We should read it carefully, make sure it has some real ideas and realistic goal. We should also read about the team of developers, we will not find much information if they are a group of scammers.  Moreover generally I have seen there are just merely faces on the paper rather than people really working behind the project.
I do not really know if the scammers have actually gone up or if we are just getting better at detecting them, to be honest I am leaning towards the latter since now there are many members that have been scammed and now are dedicating their time to reveal scams and they are doing a great service to the community, but as soon as there is a new bull market new and inexperienced investors will flow in the market again and the scammers will have unfortunately an easy time scamming them.

That's a useful post you've written over here. I agree with you in all the points, one should only invest the amount they can afford to lose, the world of cryptocurrency has been unpredictable until now, as much as it is risky. I only get involved with the verified sites to avoid scam.

I really appreciate your effort for putting this points together. But sadly, it's easy to say than to execute. Now the scammers have also evolved their techniques. They plan a lot in advance so it has become very hard to spot a fake social media profile. The attributes mentioned in the website can be sourced from a professional content writer which again becomes very tough to spot any anamolies.

It is little easier to spot a fake ICO projects through their twitter activities. I have seen a lot of ICO projects those who tweet about only their projects with a lot of jargons and copied text from their website. Only a handful of them post about their real pictures and their team members. Once you see an ICO is continuously posting about their participation in various crypto summits and their tours and sales pitches, you can at least trust that they are not fake and genuinely trying to get better attention.

I usually use this determination factor before joining any bounty program.
Correct, scammers are not going to sit and do nothing while everyone now is able to detect the way they used to scam, they are adapting as well and they are doing it at such a speed that I think investing in this market of icos is no longer safe and if possible it should be avoided, some may think that is too harsh but taking into account the huge number of scams I do not think that is the case.

As mentioned in one other similar thread, you can never be safe from investing in Scam projects, also if you have been around for years. Also the scammers are getting better and better and it is hard to spot if a project is fraudulent from the past..previously you could detect that easier, now scammers getting more professional and don't make as many mistakes as before...be careful
