Looks like the ETH was moved from the address you sent to about 5 days ago...

Anyway, good to hear that you managed to get credited for it. That's great news... My only advice is to be more careful next time! Tongue

Yeh i think youre right, the thing is IDAX keep saying they will recover it but then dont respond to live chat, they havnt answered none of my email tickets, Why cant they just tell me its not able to recover.
Bad customer service? Undecided

Do you know what Nexty NTY is if it isnt an ERC20 token? How would i go about storing this on my nano ledger?
Like I said... it is essentially just another cryptocurrency... like BTC, BCH, ETH, DOGE, LTC, BTG, XRP etc... As for storing in a Ledger, basically you can't unless Ledger decide to implement support for the NTY currency. I don't think it's likely, but you never know. Maybe write to Ledger support and see if they plan on implementing support.

Just an update All has been recovered Smiley im not sure how, on the blockchain though funds are still seen there, maybe idax sent funds to me.

I sent ETH to Nexty (NTY) address on IDAX, the funds dont show in neither of accounts, and both address's are different. the TXID is 0x7c966aa02864f58c6ae0ff8d6079ad9f2cbfe80cacf6f14d48fc07d533ffa5c2
Interesting... out of all the tokens, NTY seems to be the only one that has a different address to the ETH address??!?

After a bit of digging, I've noticed that Nexty is NOT actually an ERC20 token... it would appear that it is actually a completely separate cryptocurrency running on it's own blockchain... it does not use the ETH network. So, you have not actually sent ETH to your IDAX ETH address (as would be the case if you'd sent it to one of the ERC20 token addresses).

You have sent ETH to an address that IDAX may not even have the private key to (depends on their private key -> address algorithm for Nexty). Quite why Nexty decided to use an address system that generated valid ETH addresses I don't know... but that seems like it could be a real trap for people who aren't careful.

Also... given this:

3.The address is not allowed to deposit other assets other than Nexty, and any other asset deposit will not be recovered
You might be in a bit of trouble with regards to getting IDAX to recover your ETH Undecided

I just checked IDAX out... (for clarity, this is: https://www.idax.mn it is a centralised exchange and is NOT IDEX)

IDAX seems to provide the same deposit address for ETH as for all the tokens that they support. So, theoretically, if you sent ETH, it should have been credited to your IDAX account balance. What ERC20 Token address did you send to? And did you check that your ETH and token addresses are the same for your IDAX account?

Does this cross chain transaction recover itself and have funds automaticlly sent to Ethereum instead?
You haven't sent a cross-chain transaction. ERC20 and ETH transactions all occur on the ETH network... as ERC20 tokens piggyback on ETH.

I sent ETH to Nexty (NTY) address on IDAX, the funds dont show in neither of accounts, and both address's are different. the TXID is 0x7c966aa02864f58c6ae0ff8d6079ad9f2cbfe80cacf6f14d48fc07d533ffa5c2

For support ➡️ help.bc.game
The transaction is Successful but the funds are stuck, Ive tried talking to IDAX support but they do not understand english, Ive tried asking them to send me my private key but they still dont understand what im saying, Im stuck and i need help in what to do next, Does this cross chain transaction recover itself and have funds automaticlly sent to Ethereum instead?

What do you mean by stuck? It was not credited or what? It will not be sent back because the transaction is successful and already received by another address. By understanding your story, it should be sent to you because after all, ERC20 address resides in ETH blockchain. Check your ERC20 address into any ETH explorer site and check if the amount was there.

Anyways will not dig it anymore as it was really stuck. No one to help you here but the IDAX itself. Can't believed they didn't understand English. Shocked Try to send another ticket. Don't used Google translate it will just give more confusions. Surely there are support who understand English that will pick up your ticket. Their site is running in English language so how come lol.

You can withdraw your ethereum from IDAX exchange to your ERC20 address so you don't need the private key of IDAX exchange wallet

if you transfer funds to idax then there is no big deal. you can login to idax by using your erc20 private key which you use for your MEW. IDAX is a decentralized exchange. After login you can then deposit back your money to you MEW wallet again.

I think IDAX is a scam, if i dont get the funds, ill be making a huge post about it and get it spread around the internet pretty quick i have thousands of people on a stream

hmph..
You don't have to do anything. You can't do anything. Check your transaction history. If it's finally processed, you can see it on the website. Otherwise, it will go back to your wallet.

No money would be back if you sent to wrong wallet address.

For TS:  As far as i know, many exchange use same ETH address to receive token. i dont know about IDAX, lets check your ETH wallet address on IDAX and check your ERC20 address receiver too. If the wallet address is same, you can check your ETH balance on your account.

I think you should trying reaching out to their social media support: Twitter, Telegram (best one if only they have) and talk to them there. I hope they'll understand and Poussin refund. But always make sure to check well before you process any transaction. Stay safe and always protect your funds

Maybe you should wait a bit, not all of the exchanges have automatic deposits system
Or theres a queue of transactions. Try to send them a Tx link or use Google translate if they dont understand english

As far as I know the IDEX support speaks English, so I am not sure if he talks about IDEX here.
Did you try to google translate your inquiry? Not the best quality but the support should be able to understand what you need!

Hi,

Are u referring to the exchange IDEX? I once saw a thread on GitHub about people facing the problem you had mentioned and on certain occasions it has been a unfortunate loss of funds but let's hope it's not the case with you.

I honestly can't advice you on the technical side but I would give you some advice which I heard from a ton of experts. For Ether and it's tokens the best wallet to use is myetherwallet and a lot of people who have used wallet's such a mist have encountered the problem  mentioned by you.

What country is this exchange based in? Did you try checking if they are on any social media channels? Especially on Telegram? They are very much responsive on those.

Please let me know the updates, it's very much of a useful question lot of us should br educated about. Thanks

Hi,

Its not IDEX its called IDAX and it is an exchange, they are based in mongolia, I cant use myetherwallet to access my IDAX funds as they dont support giving users its Private Keys, i will update as soon as i get any infomation. Cheers
