As far as I know, these people you mentioned here are active in traditional markets and the famous for it but I'm not sure if these people even know anything about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies to say anything about it, some of them are really scared about bitcoin and the economic freedom because this will change the situation of the market and as traditional traders and investors they will be forced to understand and know about bitcoin and this new thing is scary for them so that's not surprising to see the are not really positive about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. So I won't call any of these people 'experts' in financial systems and never heard anything about these people you mentioned here as experts.

I think he does not have to listen to those so-called experts and believe what he finds in his research to know if that is true or fake. If we can get more information from what we search, that will help us prepare and act based on the current situation but we do not have to think much about what they say because anything can happen 50 years later. So we can just watch them or other people say anything about bitcoin but the important, we need to research to find more info.

Ivory Johnson: Certified Financial Planner and Founder of Dalensi Wealth Management

“Cryptocurrencies will disrupt the traditional meaning of the economy because one of their most attractive utilities is the ability to efficiently transfer payments across borders which is low or cost free.  In the case of Bitcoin, 50 years is a long time and Bitcoin could become the world reserve currency or the next AOL which could make many people rich until some other advanced technology comes along. ”

Like any other traditional financial expert and certified financial planner, Ivory Johnson has no idea how money works and how it emerges because these experts usually will take the concept of money as a given. It may well be they consider it the creature of omnipotent State which keep developing new kind of money every century to make it more suitable for people's needs and satisfying current economic activities. That is why he thinks that in the future there can be some sort of "advanced version of Bitcoin" developed, which will replace Bitcoin. Probably, he is talking about CDBC that is going to fix all the drawbacks of Bitcoin such as a fixed supply, decentralized issuance, a shortage of rulers, and no place for corruption.

From my point of view, although I am not an expert, money is the creation of the market. For example, gold has been money for thousands of years not because someone has declared it money but because it has certain characteristics that make it the best among many other candidates. Even with the creation of a digital version of hard money, gold won't lose its value because its useful characteristics remain in place. The same is true for Bitcoin.

All money is a form of encryption.

I can respect his opinion.Paper money are protected against counterfeit by adding a bunch of prerequisites, which make them harder to get faked. This is some sort of "encryption".
I don't see anything unreasonable in the opinions stated by those fiat financial experts.I actually expected all of them to shit over the concept of cryptocurrencies and repeat all the FUD stuff, which crypto haters keep saying.
Most of the cryptocurrency users have the same opinions about what will happen with Bitcoin/crypto after X amount of years. There are only two options-crypto will dominate the financial world or a better technology will replace all cryptocurrencies. There's nothing in between those two options.

It would certainly be great to see more and more people talking good things about crypto.
I know some of the people you listed in your thread but on the other hand I don't want to be too happy and excited about this because indeed in this context we are not talking in 5 or 10 years but 50 years.
it will be very good indeed for the long term and this is very good news for the younger generation and this can be a pioneer to make something new so that they can make good preparations for old age later

We may not know what the stocks of the S&P 500 will do in the next month or two, but in the analysis of the last few decades, we have a pretty good idea that they will rise. ~ None of this is true of cryptocurrencies.
First of all we don't know what is going to happen to "stocks" specially whey many of them are overvalued and when we consider the corruption in the financial system that has manipulate the stock market to artificially keep it up.
Secondly it is wrong to even compare stocks with altcoins. What you can compare cryptocurrencies (ie. altcoins) with is at best the penny stocks market. Which is a small mostly vaporware market with a lot of pump and dumps and unclear future where majority of them will definitely not be a part of.

CNBC asked experts in various fields to describe the perspectives on cryptocurrency for 50 years from now.  Their answers were condensed and edited for clarity.
In these cases "experts" are always biased opinions of those who either don't even understand the technology or have only seen shitcoins and are predicting the market based on them. So in the end I wouldn't even read these opinions.

What is meant by the word "expert" above? Do people really understand bitcoin? Or other.
So far I haven't found anyone who is really an expert in bitcoin. If there is, I'm a little doubtful.
Don't talk about the next 50 years. Every year, month, even every day, there is always the question, will bitcoin ever reach its peak?
Is this the beginning of the bitcoin crash? And the narrative repeats itself. It's as if you don't believe in the assets you have now.
A little strange indeed, how you can have something, but you doubt the potential it has.

there are no very precise experts to predict what crypto will become in the next 50 years but bitcoin will be the main key in crypto that will bring prosperity in the digital world ! experts are not always right technological innovation will continue to grow up over time ,I agree with this post

Yes, even thinking of 10 years ahead in crypto is beyond understanding because we never know what changes will be in crypto in a decade. We have seen ICO, DEFI, NFT. META VERSE, WEB3.0 and a lot more to come in coming years.

No one has the slightest idea of what will happen in 50 years. 50 years ago companies like Apple and Microsoft didn't exist. And some companies that were once leaders of their industry decline and disappear. And things move much faster with crypto, when new trends emerge and fade every year.

Crypto is guaranteed to be still around in 50 years, because it's just software that can not be stopped, but the real question is, how much popular it will be and how it will be used. No expert can answer that.

Even if those people are all experts in financial field, still nobody are going predict even close on what's going to happen on Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency in general in the next 50 years. That's something that most of us here doesn't wanna talk about because in the next 50 years, majority of us here is either old enough to handle financial assets or dead.
So, that doesn't even matter anyway.
What we need to pay attention of is the predictions in the next 10 years to say the least.

This world of 7 billion people is full with experts in many fields. Every experts have their own vision and own limitations. So you will always find contradictory comments from various experts. So I feel it's not really worth investing time in reading through what they think about cryptocurrency.

Cryptocurrency has started just 11 years ago and while we are waiting to welcome 2022, it is already a market worth 2.27 trillion dollars. It's bigger than the GDP of most of the countries. So just believe in yourself and leave those experts aside.

Are those guys known in crypto?

It's too far to think about crypto 50 years from now. There will be no doubt about the prices going high but it's the regulations that I think will change though. As of today, there is still a chance that governments will really hold on to thier power to take control of crypto. They'll do anything from lobbying to changing laws which we'd all grow old to discuss.

If you ask me, what will happen in crypto in 50 years, i would say that one thing will be sure, i won't be alive to see that day.

Your question is big and can not answer.

Generally blockchain technology is outstanding and is changing and will change the world. So as consequence of outstanding blockchain technology, cryptocurrency will be accepted more.

Specifically if you are talking about specific cryptocurrencies, they will be either survive or dead in 50 years. Please look at historic ranking table from coinmarketcap.

Many top coins dead and were replaced by new top coins. Be woke and don't naively think that top coins are automatically good and safely for your investment.

I don't know any of them but there's one thing that I can compare with any that they say. Whether it is positive or negative, there have been a bunch of "experts" of the 1980s - 2000s that have talked about the internet and many of them thought of it as a fad. While there are also many experts that have said negative about it and it won't be a thing in the future. So either around, these experts could be right or wrong if we're having the description of 50 years.

Predicting bitcoin for the next 50 years and good or bad by then I most likely won't be on earth anymore or maybe very old so I'm not commenting on that.
what the OP said i think i just heard it and i am very foreign to the crypto world so i think the predictions are too far, and if they are expert and trustworthy why should predict bitcoin 50 years from now because i think bitcoin will still be alive and growing far better but current users will most likely not be able to enjoy it including those who predict. Funny enough, CNBC calls out to people who are pro themselves and with their belief system about the collapse of Cryptocurrencies. Even without inviting the person, it's already concluded. What do they say? “Cryptocurrencies will disrupt the traditional meaning of the economy” is this a Neutral opinion? No, since they were on opposite grounds, it was clear which one they were defending that they were trying to overthrow?

Too sloppy and unable to make relevant comparisons. LOOK AT THOSE PEOPLE, DO ANY OF THE INVITED PEOPLE EVER INTERACT WITH CRYPTO?

Expert in what? in terms of paper money and inflation? there should be two directions that are invited, namely experts or crypto users. That's called a two-way opinion. Exchanging opinions and bringing valid ideas to each other.

'...or the next AOL which could make many people rich until some other advanced technology comes along.'

This is my sentiment. Bitcoin was the pioneer, but, eventually, it will be a stepping stone towards the next chapter in crypto. That might not come any time soon, but eventually, we will, like with everything else, move on to the next thing. And that will be long before BTC is fully mined. Bitcoin (and other current major cryptocurrencies) will have, by then done their part.

I never heard of all of them but maybe they are experts in their fields but not in cryptocurrency. I wonder if what they say can become reality but 50 years later will be a long time to see what will happen to bitcoin. We can listen to them but we do not have to trust them as I think all of them will have their reason why they say like that. We need to search for more info about bitcoin and not just accept what other people say about bitcoin so we do not get the wrong information.

I would not call any one of the people you mentioned as "Experts" in cryptocurrency. In fact, I have never even heard of those people. They are not known in the crypto space and are pretty much nobodies. All the experts you should be listening to are in this Bitcointalk forum. And they are saying that cryptocurrency is the future of money. Pretty much a unanimous voice. I choose to believe that over some guy with a fancy title. Roll Eyes

Usually, when I come across the term 'expert' attached to individuals, especially when they are discussing on non traditional concepts like bitcoin, I do not expect to learn anything from such. Any guess on what cryptocurrencies would be in the next half a century would be good as any other.

You can not extrapolate information from 12 years and use that to predict 50 years into the future with any certainty at all. And best of all, you do not need to.
