Congrats on your achievement, OP!

On the 2nd November ten years ago I registered on bitcointalk. I was fascinated about the idea of decentralization and that everyone could be a part of the network. At that time I was just 16 years old and liked bitcointalk on the one hand because there was an incredible amount of meme shitposts and giveaways (bitcoin giveaways and not shitcoin drops like today), but on the other hand I was fascinated that random strangers on the internet would basically answer every question that could potentially arise about bitcoin.
Wow, looks like you are a very young member and when we are still young, we can learn a lot, when we dedicate our time for it.
If it is in our free time or from a professionel side, we can always expand our knowledge.
And as you have said, always ask a question to gain more knowledge!

Agreed.  For having been here a decade, OP's post count and merit stats are lower than someone who'd been much more active during that 10 year period.  I don't even recognize his username (and that's not a slight against you, OP).
Very funny😁, you know you can be here on the Forum for long without knowing a member who has been here the same time as you? It happens and maybe the OP has been operating underground without you knowing.
Yeah, I'm well aware that there are zillions of members nowadays, but unless someone has sequestered themselves to a specialized area of the forum (like Collectibles, for example), I'd imagine I would at least recognize a username if that member has been here longer than I have--and if they've been active, which I've said hasn't been the case with OP.

And come to think of it, now that I'm looking at his handle again, it is starting to ring a bell somewhere in my besquiggled ball of neurons that I refer to as my noggin.  Can't say I remember any of his posts, but his username is looking like I've seen it before.  Small victory for my scrambled brain?

I see a decade on you at OP and I wonder how little you might have taken it at the time, even though you had met it quite early. The. I read through your post and realize just how much of a young person you were and with very little your mind could wrap around, you did the most you could for yourself.

One thing that stands out by the way is that, you sticked around, with all the experiences from the time to serve the forum and the people you might here well. A decade isn’t something that comes by easily and is by far a significant achievement on your account.

On these, I say a decade congratulations to you and hope the rest of us can stick around for just as long. Congrats.

Maybe he is just here for the knowledge like @bitcoingirlclub suggested? I feel you would have noticed him if he was amongst the users who constantly badger you with PMs for post reviews and all that. I also noticed he's not in any campaign so that too can be another reason as it would have warranted him to be more popular.

So....congrats, I guess?  I still don't quite understand why people feel the need to create these kinds of threads
Some people believe that there's the need to celebrate any important thing in their lives and to the op, this is no different. But I feel he would have done well to post this in this @bitcoingirlclub's thread

Congratulations, Op for how far you've come on this forum. It's not easy to stay true despite the ups and downs you may have encountered. Peeps like you give the average person in this place a form of belief that milestones like this can be reached only if they are determined and disciplined.

So....congrats, I guess?  I still don't quite understand why people feel the need to create these kinds of threads, and in this case hZti hasn't been a consistently active member of the community for the number of years he's celebrating.  Aside from my party pooping however, ten years is a hell of a long time to be a member of a forum, especially one dealing with bitcoin.  As far as I'm concerned, we're still in the early days.

You just said the truth, but what do you expect when we have many users who want to be noticed by all means and creating such thread is another way of getting it done. We can't stop them from creating such thread but all we have to do is congratulate them but keeping an eye on them is needed too, just saying though.

@hZti Congratulations ally, you have been in this forum for a long time, which is 10 years. It was not a while when you related to this kind of thing I had no knowledge about cryptocurrency, but then you came to the forum. You are an old user, and you have a lot of knowledge. I hope God helps you to get a better position, and you move forward in the future. Wish you a bright future.

Congratulations to your OP, 10 years is not easy staying clean, keeping your head straight up, doing things that would always keep the Forum at a positive state.
And you also kept your reputation intact, that's not easy to start with, some members who joined same year as you did are no longer here or some might be on the wrong side of life, but you're still here with us as we celebrate you... And may you also extend your knowledge about Bitcoin to those who have non about it.
Continue doing the best you can to be among the best, and we'll continue to celebrate you and more years to come in this Forum.

A happy forum birthday to you bud, it's always good to celebrate, most especially, when it comes to the discovery of what changed our life, or perspective of how we have previously seen and pecieved life to be.

I also came to this forum, and through this forum, my life have changed in a lot of great ways, discovering bitcoin was, which in turn brought me to this forum, has been the major factors that have lead to my success in life today, even though I really have no accomplished alot of things I plan to accomplish, I am always grateful for where I am today as a person, all thanks to bitcoin, and all thanks to this forum for all the great things I have leant from here, and all thanks to all the great people who have devoted their time in passing great knowledge to people they don't know and have never met, all through this forum.

Going through the first line of the post and what first came to my mind was that this is all about ranking up message

The forum ranks don't really matter anything. The only real difference that they will make is sometimes you will be payed more in a signature cammpaign. I feel that this is in some cases right, but in other cases it will just encourage people to cycle merits with other members to then secure a higher pay.
I started pretty young to contribute to this forum and that is something that is quite unique.
I wonder how old are you. Whatever the age, it sounds like you are still young and bitcoin needs younger generations. I am glad you are here and some day you will lead the invention and the community.

As I said at this moment I am 26 years old, so I think even after 10 years here I am one of the younger members.

Well I think my kind of posting style does not get so many merits and I don't really care about that. Even if my goal is obviously to reach Legendary at some point. The activity score at least is here for now.

Thats exactly what I was thinking when I see how many people leave the forum and never return, even if they contributed a lot to the forum at some point. I guess for me this could be the case because I started pretty young to contribute to this forum and that is something that is quite unique.

still a hero member means you are here from the interest for bitcoin

Congratulations h2ti, 10years is indeed a milestone that’s worth celebrating and one I hope to celebrate also. I have much respect for users who have been here longer than I have. How do you stay consistent after all these years? Like you said, the forum has lost some great minds and also been blessed with new ones, repeat topics makes the forum seem boring, how do you refresh your interest in the forum?

I wonder why the majority registered an account in 2013 more than in 2012 and 2014, and what is the story of how you found the forum? Was it a coincidence, or did you search for Bitcoin and the forum suddenly appeared to you?

I saw a video about bitcoin mining where they set up a block eruptor for solo mining but basically said "don't do it it will lead to nothing". Still I was very interested because they said that with bigger machines you could do some real mining. Since I owned quite a nice gaming PC then I searched for more informations and the best (and maybe only) source then was bitcointalk. Today that has changed and I feel that many young people prefer reddit for bitcoin related stuff, but I think thats somewhat the result of the old forum design. Because in 2011 when the forum was started this was a state of the art design, but it is not anymore.

Wow, congratulations mate. I love your courage and of coming back to the forum after you went for 5yrs and 5 months, this shows that during your absence, you were missing the forum and it's bag of knowledge

I had a lot of trouble with exchanges that stole my funds and therefore bitcoin was not the best topic for me. After some time I got over it and came back to start over again. This time with a much more solid cold storage approach, that I did not really understood when I first entered bitcoin. Also there are now very good cold storage options like seed phrases that were not present in the beginning. I think this lead to many more coins that are lost forever than people may think because of the modern possibilities for backups now.

What a coincidence to have 826 activity and 628 merits when celebrating an anniversary. Strange indeed. Congrats.🥳

I was fascinated that random strangers on the internet would basically answer every question that could potentially arise about Bitcoin.

It's a beautiful example of how the Internet can be a powerful tool for education and empowerment. Really Bitcoin community has a strong concept of sharing tools to improve the positive impact of this technology.

I didn’t see those glorious times, if we talk about the forum ten years ago (with the exception of shitposts, which I also had some connection to at the beginning of my journey on the forum Smiley). So even then there were already a lot of technically knowledgeable users?

Over the years bitcointalk has change a bit and has grown into a more professional platform, even if at the same time it has lost some very great minds (and found some).
This process with the change of great minds and generations will occur constantly. Some users will come, others will leave. This is a natural process. It is important that the knowledge formed and accumulated here continues to be transmitted.

My wish for the next ten years would be that we can keep this platform as it is and at the same time are able to preserve all this knowledge that was stored here for the last years (since for now it mostly depends on active, well educated users answering questions).
My wish for bitcoin however is that we can have as much adoption as possible since even if not everyone thinks the same, for me this is the most important step for the long term success of a decentralized payment system.
Why only for 10 years? Bitcointalk must be preserved and I hope this will be the case for the entire period of the bitcoin’s existence. In my current understanding, this forum and bitcoi are forever inextricably linked.

I would like to see more and more "active, well educated users". The stronger the BTC-community is, the better it is for "the long term success of a decentralized payment system".

What a coincidence to have 826 activity and 628 merits when celebrating an anniversary. Strange indeed. Congrats.🥳

Happy 10th anniversary on Bitcointalk! You are lucky one who succefully completed ten years here. This is great achievement, achieved by very few peoples. Many people created account in 2013 but couldn't continue to be active. Indeed you got this forum very early and gives valuable time.

It's fascinating to see the growth and changes in the these ten years from meme and one line post to more professional, helpful posts with full share of knowledge. We expect something more professional in the next decade. Many members are using their potential to make this forum most accurate, useful, knowledgeable which is backbone of this forum. we are hoping for continuous growth and wider acceptance of decentralized payment systems in the future.
