Ahh thank you, I assume it is now safe to post the signed message that I sent via pm?
Yes, it's safe.

It's fine. Given how and when everything folded, it checks out.

I still don't like the idea of having to deal with negative reports / trust on my main account though.
I understand but it's a needed step for such cases.

You might want to also edit and change the title of this thread (from the first post of the thread), so DT members can easily spot it and leave the necessary ratings:

"Account hacked [Signed messaged verified], awaiting -neg rating from DT1/2"

When that's done and one of them (DT1/2) leave the appropriate feedback, you can change the title of the thread (deleting the ending part) and wait until you recover the account.

Thank you very much, you are a star. Thread title updated, though I am not looking forward to clearing up the negativity it will bring, but at least it will do something to either stop them using my account, or speed up recovery process.

Thank you once more. Cheesy

I can sign a message with a wallet address I posted earlier than 2017 on that account (and already have for the mods), yes "trickyriky" is my account, I am reluctant to post the other address in public as I don't want to give them chance to go editing, and screw my chances of getting it back.
I found it and already archived that page (that you posted the address in).

You can do it using what "Potato Chips" recommended or https://archive.fo/
It'll be safer to use an online screen capture tool such as this one: http://archive.is (recommended)

Now even if he edits that post, there's a proof (from your unedited archived post) plus if you check that thread, someone quoted your post on the next page (those valid evidences will stay there).

Im not sure I like the idea of getting my main account down voted, as if or when I get it back I would then have to get them removed.
It would take a day or two to remove those negative ratings (when you get the account back).

Take note: You have the chance to warn other users (by providing the sign message so DT1/2 members can tag your account), so they won't trust whoever is using your original account and eliminate the chances of him/her scamming someone using your account.

Jesus Christ, what do you have to do to get your account back, waited to be ignored by @cyrus for 2 weeks, now been ignored by @theymos for more than 3 days. I have proven account ownership!!!
You need to have a lot of patience. Recovering accounts, are considered a low priority to admins (plus you're not the only one on the list, unfortunately).
Just to give you the idea of how long it can take (could take more or less), this hacked account was reported on January 24, 2016 and recovered on September 13, 2016.

Some thieving twat is using my account, and impersonating a pool operator, do the mods not give a toss, or is it the mods selling accounts that appear to be unused???
You should specify the account name here and sign a message, so DT1/2 members could verify and leave a negative rating on that account (so the other user won't be able to use it to his/her advantage).

Based on the following post, "trickyriky" is the hacked account:

Right now there are more coins available in the market which gives you more profit than bitcoin.
Bitcoin price is also not stable.
All these factors affect its popularity ??
What you think, still bitcoin is more popular ?

Yes, Bitcoin is still the most popular cryptocurrency on the market. Everybody wants to own it even when it brings less profit that some altcoins.

Reset the email of MY account to [email protected] you cheeky thieving cunt...

Damn I didn't expect to see that length of time, no im sorry I don't think I can sign a message with that address, I suspect that was posted by whoever is making use of my account.

Regarding recovering hacked accounts, please refer to this thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/recovering-hacked-accounts-or-accounts-with-lost-passwords-497545
How to sign a message: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/how-to-sign-a-message-990345

Since the person who hacked your account will most likely delete posts that contains address/es or change it at your profile tab (if you had one there). It'll be safer to use an online screen capture tool such as this one: http://archive.is (recommended)

awesome, thank you very much, will be sending a few more messages shortly Smiley

I'd suggest you contact one of the moderators. Links to them are listed next to the (sub-)forum name when you're looking at the posts and lists of posts.

Also, from the donate link:

"The forum was started in 2009 by Satoshi Nakamoto, the original creator of Bitcoin. It is now managed by theymos, BadBear, Cyrus, and a dedicated team of moderators."

Awesome thank you, now I have something to run with I shall attempt to contact them.

Hi all my former account has been hijacked and taken over by an imposter, how do I go about recovering my account, it looks like they have removed my email address as I can not get a password reset.

I have proof that I am the rightful owner of the hi jacked account, and there is no way the imposter can prove ownership.

Please help, can not find any contact info for the site to contact them direct??
