Added more goodies to the website! Including a twitter and reddit feed. I also implemented something a little fancy on the logo curtsey of the logo designer (XCessive). A facebook like button will come soon.

This!. There are some dark times coming in , with the price of bitcoin tanking again and only the better alts out there will survive a real drop.

I agree, I think we already see the first signs of a crypto currency stagnation. Entering a phase of a market characterized by cut-throat competition before returning to a groth market. In my opinion this is long overdue.

Stagnation would be good. I fear something far worse , but i do hope it's just fear , nothing serious.

Now as you mention it, yes, this could be far worse. The altcoins are like the new printing press of goverment controled FIAT money, this could cause the first crypto currency economic depression. The aftermath would be serious, but maybe healthy to the bloated (mainly alt)coin economy.

I liked the comparison.
Bitcoin was supposed to stop the money printing madness.
But it has proven that , although you can't print more bitcoins , you can always print an enormous amount of bitcoin 2 , bitcoin 3 and bitcoin 4.

Well , we human always find a way to f*** up everything.

Couple of days later now, and still the same problem.

The destination address which Allcrypt gave me doesn't exist on the network, when I lookup my wallet addresses it says my coins are still there, but my wallet program thinks the coins are sent and says my balance is zero.

What can I do?

Try this:
1) Stop the client.
2) Backup your "Cryptographicanomaly" folder of you app-directory.
3) Delete everything except "wallet.dat" in your old "Cryptographicanomaly" folder.
4) Start the client again, let it sync.

I have a problem.

I made an address on Allcrypt and sent my CGA (0.69 in total, not much I know) to this address. This was 2 maybe 3 hours ago.

In my wallet it is deduced from my balance (which is now 0). The transaction has 0 confirmations.

When I look at the blockexplorers (this one: http://node1.cga.anomalypool.com:2760/chain/CryptographicAnomaly and this one: http://cga.thedigitalmint.org/) my balance appears to be still 0.69, the transaction ID doens't seem to exist and the address Allcrypt assigned to me returns: Address not seen on the network

What does this all mean?
Your transaction didn't get processed.

1) Please post your address (of your wallet)
2) What version (your qt-client) do you use?

1) AZ3RStUZ6edq5k4pHPLe6SQJ2ysUrqRKb5 + AdwXZ8hfJQv77P8VAgHSnJZ6dpATGNjYrg => AUv2aYkpcHjEQpkfMXnWG8Qu6cwXBDnAXU
2) 1.3.0.2

thanks for your reply!

It seems that your transaction has yet to be received by Allcrypt, I sent them a support ticket to help them get on the correct blockchain.
Allcrypt is on the wrong chain?  Shocked

That means the address i sent my coins to is also on the wrong chain and non existent on the proper chain?

What will happen to the transaction then?

As soon as Allcrypt gets on the right chain your coins should show up on Allcrypt (if they don't delete their wallet.dat, which I am sure they wont). Sorry for the inconvenience.

Ok i will wait, its only 0.69 CGA, so although it was a whole day of mining for me and my miserable videocard its not that important Grin

Thanks for your help!

edit:
Oh wait: I will try what Cor2 writes above. I will try to export the private keys, make a backup and completely reinstall the wallet.

Already tried rescanning the wallet but that didnt work.

Very nice! I added it to the OP and website. Quick question: Does your pool use stratum? If not I highly recommend it.

Is there a P2Pool source on github? I'm interested in opening up a CGA p2pool

CGAnomaly.com has been updated and the look/feel changed to match the new logo. Check it out.

Looks very cool now.

You missed just the favicon:

I must admit the new logo looks very good in small sizes - - like black letter 'c' with vertical strike (similar to the Euro sign). Much like a currency symbol.

Edit: nevemind the favicon, my browser had cached it, full refresh brought the new one.

Ya I had thought the same thing until I cleared my cache  Tongue

What is happening to the difficulty calculation?
It is jumping up and down (already since the inception of CGA)
and I see it now vary between 1.5 and 16
without a change in NetworkHashPerSec, so there seems to be a bug/instability in the calculation of the diff....
Also, rewards still seem to be lower than I can calculate for the ratio between Network Hash and my Hash rate
which may also be explained by having a wrong diff, I see that the block finding rate is avg 67 seconds for a
random period of about a day, so that means that it is almost double the designed rate of 40 sec and this
of course leads to about half the payouts per day!
(I took a period of 19.1 hours between two "getmininginfo" requests that showed 1030 blocks advancement)
I have the impression that the (naturally) varying block finding time (since it is a statistical process)
is upsetting the diff retarget calculation and therefor it is making those large swings, which causes peaks of too high diff
that causes long periods of no block found, leading to way higher average time between blocks found...
Is there a way to dampen the diff calculation a bit? This does not seem to work very well and result in
negative side-effects from the large diff level swings, such as half block finding and payout rate.

Only thing that I can think of is profit switching pools (which I know of at least 1 that CGA is on) are jumping in for just the blocks that are worth something (due to the fact that CGA is the most profitable coin recently, according to cointweak). So this may change and become less frequent once the new block reward occurs. As well as faithful, dedicated pools getting rewards faster.

Edit: We used to have KGW, but removed it due to security concerns, KGW has a very dangerous exploit and I didn't want the network to be abused (more than it already is).

I made a manual payout request over 24hrs+ ago at cga.inceptioncraft.net and have not received it yet. What the freak is taking so long?
Also have coin that have sat unconfirmed for about the same time with them as well.
There was a fork, so depending where it is sent from/to, it may or may not arrive and your actions can recover your control over these coins.
Where did you send the coins to? Are you sure that the receiving end was on the correct block chain (else it will never show up, even though
it was properly sent and recorded in the block chain).
Note that your coins do not reside in a wallet, they only are recorded in the block chain, your wallet is just a window into the block chain
to see and manipulate the coins registered under one or more addresses that the wallet generated for you.
If you follow the link from the transactoin on InceptionCraft, to the block of the block chain, you should see that it has hundreds of confirmations, showing that it is a valid block from the main block chain (not an orphaned fork).
If you have coins that have showed up in a wallet that have been sitting unconfirmed for hours, that means that those coins were sent
from an address that was on the *forked* chain and they are not recognised by other nodes, so they do not get confirmations.
If those coins were mined *while* on the forked chain, then those coins do not officially exist and they will never be confirmed,
because they were created with an invalid block chain.
If those coins were created before the fork and were only *transferred* while the wallet was on the forked chain, then they officially
never were sent!
That means that as far as the block chain is concerned, those coins are still in the "sending" wallet and not in the receiving one, that is
why there are no confirmations - the transactoin never happened on the official block chain.
You can recover in various ways from this - rescanning the wallets and a few other ways, the most involved but powerful way is to export
the private keys from the wallets that are affected and making a wallet backup,
then install a new fresh wallet, then import the private key(s) into the new wallet.
All the transactoins associated with those keys (= CGA addresses) are now read from the official block chain, so anything that
happened on the fork will never show up in the wallet and the sending wallet should have the balance again that was sent on the fork.
Hope this helps!
