I never come across Cryptotalks before, it’s just recently I know about the forum, but I knew about Altcoinstalks for long during bounty days, but the two forums are not as active as Bitcointalk forum and many forum users are not talking about the forum that much maybe because of their in activity and low quality posts been posts there.
But recently, Bitcoin talks forum users have started teleporting their accounts into Altcoinstalks forum, the forum will perhaps become more active and gain more quality contents and posts.
You are not alone here. Even I didn't knew that there was a forum called "Cryptotalks". All I knew was Bitcointalk and altcointalk.

And the altcointalk administrator are taking this as an opportunity to increase their site traffic. we have a large numbers to campaign participant who teleported their account to altcointalk. But I highly doubt it won't last long. The moment mixers stop their campaign, activity will decrease. But do you think altcointalk will gain quality content or post? I fear some (low rank) may spam or abuse because I don't think altcointalk is highly maintained as bitcointalk in term of fighting spams.

Hello Leo! You can still win.
Hello @everyone!

I'm very curious for your reasons, why you've signed up at Bitcointalk, created an Account here and are an active member of Bitcointalk by writing content regularly.

I actually do not have any special reasons why I signed up on bitcointalk. Infact if it were for me, I wouldn't have discovered this forum, rather I would rather be an admin of other groups or non crypto related forums. It was a brother that introduced me to this forum and from that very day I was introduced, I haven't regretted it.

Cryptotalk
Cryptotalk was a very active forum where many members made contributions but most of it has been spam, probably due to Cryptotalk incentivizing posts. Last year, posts stopped to be incentivized and suddenly, no one wrote posts anymore. I just wondered why my new topics didn’t get any replies anymore.
Cryptotalk is dead now.
Even when it was active, most replies were of very low quality. Very disappointing.

Even up till I read this your post, I haven't known that there's a forum called cryptotalks. Although, I have heard of a forum where people ask questions and attach some cents to the question which is given to anyone who provides the most appropriate answer to the question. I don't think it is cryptotalks.

Altcoinstalks
Altcoinstalks is very different from Cryptotalk as it's an independent forum, similar like Bitcointalk. I have presented quite a few researches on Altcoinstalk, but discussions haven’t been very insightful but more insightful compared to Cryptotalk, of course. Biggest disadvantage from Altcoinstalks: Activity has been very low and for many topics only few replies have been left.
Very big issue of Altcoinstalk as well: it is focused on Altcoins and many useless Altcoins such like Tron or Ripple are shilled. Criticism of such coins is bashed.
Not a good showing to push such fraudulent coins.

I have known Altcoinstalks since 2021. Few months after I signed up to bitcointalk, I asked people if there is an alternative forum where such activities in BTT is replicated. I was pointed to Altcoinstalks and I used it for just few days and left there because of low activity in the forum. Right now things have changed for Altcoinstalks. It is getting more visitors daily.

I can't actually say why but I could say how. Bitcointalk was introduced to me by someone and I registered. At first I didn't find it any interesting so I left it. Not using it for a year (I think). Later thought of giving it another try. As time went by I got interested. I started to read and read, went from one thread to another, board to board, post to post and here I was having Bitcointalk as my daily life. I wouldn't exactly say daily life but it became something that I now use on a regular basis. Wink

In Bitcointalk's latest Mixer ban, Altcoinstalks made an appearance because many Mixer campaigns will be on Altcointalks now.
I'm not active on Altcoinstalks currently because many topics are much more interesting on Bitcointalk but checking out Altcoinstalks now might result in better discussions on Altcoinstalks, when more members are active:

Biggest disadvantage from Altcoinstalks: Activity has been very low and for many topics only few replies have been left.

It is indeed a forum of vast resourceful materials, as this is the only forum you could find a trace of the good works of "Satoshi Nakamoto".
Hello, bro
I know, yes. Satoshi was active on Bitcointalk and he announced Bitcoin here.
Even early development was done here, it is really impressive and I agree to you.

Satoshi Nakamoto is a really unique point for Bitcointalk.

Take a look at this thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/interviews-with-bitcointalk-members-5262967, it'll definitely answer your questions as well as learn something gold from other people.
HOLY SHIT.  I absolutely do not remember writing all of that.  I couldn't have been in a blackout at the time, so it's freaking me out seeing all of that.

But anyway, at least I don't have to write the answer to OP's question again since I just linked to everything you'd ever want to know about how I found the forum.
What a nice thread with the comprehensive answers from different members. Really has The Sceptical Chymist  has said, there is no need for him to answer the OP again because everything is there, and anything we answer here has already been said in the link thread. If OP made a rigorous research he would have made comments over there. Though everyone has their own reasons of joining the forum, many are here to education, some are here to learn, some are here to advertise their products while some are here to participate on the campaigns.  That is why everyone does different activities in the forum. I have seen many members that are in the forum that only educate people. Then I came here to learn more about bitcoin and today I have learned more in the forum. So I can also follow for new technological trend in the world.

Cryptotalk was a joke, by the way.  Right from the beginning.  When Yobit announces they have a new forum and are recruiting people from bitcointalk to get paid to post in it, the only possible outcome is an unnecessary forum filled with the bottom-feeders from another one (bitcointalk).  There was so much plagiarism it was ridiculous, and I'd like to forget it ever existed eventually.

I’m looking forward for your responses.  Smiley

First of all, I wish to welcome you to Bitcointalk, the official forum of Bitcoin and the bedrock of the digital currency we all know today as crypto. It is indeed a forum of vast resourceful materials, as this is the only forum you could find a trace of the good works of "Satoshi Nakamoto".

However, I have decided to be active on this forum, so that I can learn all that is needed for me to know about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency at large so that I can be of help to myself and those that might need my services, so as to create an enabling environment for people using Bitcoin, teach more and refer more to the forum so that they can get to know more about Bitcoin too.

Bitcoin = Financial freedom
The alternative forums mentioned in OP comes nowhere near to bitcointalk in terms of sharing actual knowledge.

I created an account here to learn more about bitcoin because I knew about bitcoin in 2014 if am not wrong but not convinced to invest even a penny that you have been worth thousands now but later 2017 I realised I missed the train now I don't want to miss again so I came here and learnt what is money which I never taught in all of my schooling period then I understand important of investment, compounding and everything make sense now.

I have encountered them too few years ago but there was this stranger I met online who told me that if I wanted to learn not only bitcoin but other cryptocurrencies as well, I should focus here in bitcointalk. After I said that there were similar forums too that provides information, he told me that those information aren't that much different here and some infos there are probably not true since most the topics there are just spams and no real credibility behind even if they are being moderated. There is also a similar forum like bitcointalk but less information and more highly you'd get scammed, that is bitcoingarden. I know that there are still useful information there but in terms of reputation I don't think there is any other forum out there that can compare here.

If you must know, here is the origin of bitcoin discussion a place where all bitcoin related issues are being handled. As a matter fact here is a place that educates people more about bitcoin than any other websites that tends to convey bitcoin and cryptocurrency information today.  Usually here is like home for me were I face and focused all spare time to read and replies some comments to renew my mind about bitcoin latest happenings compared to other social media out there.

or
- how you detected Bitcointalk,
I will eliminate the "or" and write on both. Let me start with your second question. I stumbled on this forum by chance. That was how I "detected it". I was ferociously looking for sites that could teach me what Bitcoin was all about and that was in 2017. My search on Google brought me to this forum. I observed it awhile and in less than two weeks I made my conclusion and registered on it.

My decision to remain active here, besides the monetary gain, is simply because there are loads of insights on knowledge one gets for free here. Most crypto fora are full of spam and shitposts. It's discouraging posting there, to say the least. I had accounts in a few of them but I stopped posting there after awhile. There was one – Moonforum (or so) – that would've served as a strong competition for Bitcointalk. Sadly, that forum didn't last before it went under and shutdown.

I think most of us were trying to learn more about this new technology, some got trapped in pay to post activities and some learned how to use this forum to actually learn something useful.

I'm sorry but I am reminded of a TV contest, the question was: Capital of Thailand and the options were:
A: Bangkok, B: Bangpussy, C: Bangtits, D: Bangdick. Prize was massive!😂 I'd go for b and c but the answer is a.

Point to be noted, I already had an account here prior to above happening, it was just random forum registration back then but it was hacked in 2013 (not sure). It didn't have much activity, with little efforts tried to recover it but didn't work, so gave up without much attachment  Grin

Cryptotalk - I know this forum is affiliated with Yobit exchange we know this is a shady exchange and there have been lots of complaints on here how they have scammed their victims so much.
Whereas with the Cryptotalk forum now it has become quiet because there is no payment for each post that I know.

Altcoinstalk - Too many unsightly ads and some of the topics here are about altcoins because I don't like unless the bitcointalk is more relevant, I don't know how much more people are active on this forum unless they have come back on the bitcointalk forum which is wider and more informative.

If you want to share your reasons,

- why your decision to be active here was in favor of Bitcointalk
or
- how you detected Bitcointalk,

You can see in my interview where I have written clearly regarding the beginning of bitcointalk and of course this is my experience being long and ending until now in this forum it has become an active routine to continue exploring it, because I have seen many benefits in terms of various content needed related to bitcoin or crypto etc.

The reason I joined Bitcointalk over Cryptotalk and Altcoinstalks is because Bitcointalk is one of the oldest and most popular cryptocurrency forums in the world. This forum allows users to discuss various topics related to cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and other altcoins. There is a lot of useful information and discussion here, especially for cryptocurrency traders and investors. In other words, it's very complete here, of course there are lots of signature campaigns.

Until now the Bitcointalk forum is still considered the best source of information and discussion about cryptocurrencies. Despite the weaknesses in the forums you mentioned, Bitcointalk is still a good place to gain insight into market trends, technological developments, and issues related to cryptocurrencies.

Cryptotalk has connection with Yobit, a shady exchange. Probably Yobit is not seen more international traffic, probably most people using that exchange are from Russia. Also that English section is full of spammers, maybe the Russian board too, but I do not know. The reason would be from those two.
Yes I have joined Cryptotalk, as you mentioned cryptotalk focus on promoting Yobit exchange market. However, this forum has also received criticism from many members because of several controversial rules and policies, such as access restrictions for several countries.

I came across this forum quite by accident. It so happened that I was busy on another platform, completely removed from information about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Suddenly, one day, my forum stopped working; I don’t know what happened to it, and I was left without my interests. There was free time, and by the will of fate, I came across this forum. I googled it and was very surprised that I did not know about it before. After reading a few threads, I signed up here because I always think that it's better to be inside than outside if you're interested in something.
And yes, the closure of my forum and the discovery of this have affected the fact that I am no longer interested in other forums.
It happens.

If someone would have told me you started from the scratch in this forum after yours had issues I won't have believed.
In my own case, I wasn't sure such a thing do happen because of some scammers and I have concluded that any online stuff are fake, not until I was introduced to this forum and I found out that things here are different from the others I have tried, so it just happened. I'm loving it here.

- why your decision to be active here was in favor of Bitcointalk
It was never a choice between bitcointalk or some other platform. I first was introduced to Bitcointalk and at that time had never been on any other crypto platform, I instantly found it to be one of the most useful forums; the more time I spent active here the more usefulness I found for btt.
• It has improved my knowledge of bitcoin a lot. I came it with zero background knowledge and reading through the threads and replies of more experienced members, I was able to learn a thing or two.
• I have been able to network with Bitcoin enthusiasts from around the world.
• All of the rich Bitcoin history you find around (10,000BTC for 2 pizzas or the famous 'HODL' reference) originated here on the forum.

Along the line, I have discovered some more crypto platforms and actually registered on some of them. Some have been terrible, some better than the others, but no one has come close to btt for me.

also, if I remember correctly a lot of posts that were posted here are being posted there too since I remember some thread talking about the rampant plagiarism that was happening in cryptotalk.

I'm not surprised, people took advantage of their pay per post and to be honest I think the only reason they attracted people there is that you get paid when you post. also, if I remember correctly a lot of posts that were posted here are being posted there too since I remember some thread talking about the rampant plagiarism that was happening in cryptotalk.
Very realistic, each post will be rewarded weekly if the weekly quota is sufficient. The level of active discussion on BTT is higher than the other two forums mentioned by OP, BTT has lots of quality users who make lots of campaigns advertised here. A comparison of the forums mentioned by the OP with BTT will not find common ground, people prefer to be here because opportunities develop faster.

OP, once you've been accepted into the paid BTC signature campaign, you'll understand why you have to post regularly here.

Many have said it already that Cryptotalk was indeed connected to Yobit.

I can still remember the time where Yobit launched a signature campaign here, and correct me with this one, but I think they also launched a signature campaign with Cryptotalk here? Nevertheless, it's pretty obvious that people there are just posting for the rewards. Nothing more, nothing less. I visited their website a few minutes after I created this post, and last post that I saw there was around 11 hours ago in an ANN thread.
yeah, they used to have a signature campaign here in the past but were shut down because of the spam the signature campaign generated(at least as far as I know). they tried to run a yobit signature again but it was blocked by a lot of members, but after some time they launched cryptotalk signature campaign which was fine with some of the members as long as the posts being made by the participants are being checked for spam and reported to the manager and then another issue arose when they try to sneakily update the signature that advertises yobit instead of cryptotalk.

I created an account here just to try and experience what it is to be on that forum.
It didn't took me a day for me to leave that forum. Not only because of the fact that, the posts there were only one liners, but like you said, you criticize the coins, you will get bashed as well. I also don't want to read some wall of texts out there that's why I left that forum.

- why your decision to be active here was in favor of Bitcointalk
or
- how you detected Bitcointalk,
Well, at first, I didn't really want to have some discussions or share my opinions with other people, but as time goes by, I'm learning from them and at the same time, I'm sharing my opinions based on what I know, and that increases my knowledge into a particular topic.

Me being active in the forum is because of the fact that you learn here. Well, Youtube videos also helped me, but reading some of the opinions here really helped me a lot. I'm not a technical guy, but at least I know the basics. Also the fact that most of the reputable players that helped Bitcoin and crypto are here such as Satoshi, Hal, Sirius etc. etc. is one of my reasons as well.

How did I detected or know Bitcointalk? My friend introduced me, and from that on, I learn and learn and learn until I reach what I am today.

I'm very curious for your reasons, why you've signed up at Bitcointalk, created an Account here and are an active member of Bitcointalk by writing content regularly.

All users on this forum have specific reasons joining this forum, such as adding insight, adding friends, marketing purposes and because the airdrop requires them to register for this forum. Apart from that Bitcointalk can also be a place to make money, most of the users who are here cannot be separated from the signature campaign on their profile.

It is undeniable, money is the main attraction for someone to join here. Of course there is reciprocity as well, companies related to Cryptocurrency will be assisted in promotions as a result of this forum having very active discussions. This forum is very coordinated, there are rules that users who have joined here cannot violate. Such as spamming, copying and pasting posts from other users or other sources from the internet and making posts off topic. All general rules are attached here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/unofficial-list-of-official-bitcointalkorg-rules-guidelines-faq-703657.
This is what differentiates Bitcointalk from other forums. In Cryptotalk and Altcoinstalks the discussion is less in-depth, this is a consideration for companies, so they are less interested in promoting their business there.

I'm not interested in talking about the two forum you mentioned in the thread, but I wish I could provide bit of opinion on bitcointalk.

Despite all its the advantages, the bitcointalk forum is where Satoshi Nakamoto usually posts. He is the founder of bitcoin, so when you want to support bitcoin then of course you also support forums where lots of people are talking about it. This is a very short opinion, but I hope you get the big meaning out of it.

Cryptotalk were just launched probably to promote Yobit, a shady crypto exchange platform. All of those incentives from posting are withdrawn through that exchange. Additionally, they had promoted a lot from that time, including their investbox (I wonder if there are any legit traders who profited from this).

Enough from that, Bitcointalk is way too far from these two forums you mentioned. Quality topics, posts, management, users, & way more opportunities to trade cryptos, services, and goods.

Everything on Cryptotalk is wrong the template is not good the category is not well organized and worse it's being managed by Yobit a notorious scam exchange, they are good when they are starting out but eventually lose steam because they cannot keep up paying spammers, they have to stop their paid to post plan because of multi-accounting and too many spam posts.

Altcoinstalk is good and is considered the next forum after Bitcointalk but I guess the lack of incentives and campaigns on Alcoinstalks is the reason why there are not many posters.

International contributions on Cryptotalk have stopped almost completely but Russian replies are still very active, I don't know why.
Probably Yobit is not seen more international traffic
Activity dropped suddenly, over a few weeks almost no activity was recorded anymore. I believe it was due to stopping incentivized posts but I don't know. I've never signed up at YoBit, so I also don't know how it worked to get incentivized. I didn't see any announcement, too.
I seemed to be very suspicious but Cryptotalk had a good design and was easy to make a post.

If you search about Bitcoin and find forum for Bitcoin discussions, I am sure with you a first search result would be Bitcointalk.org because it is a biggest forum for Bitcoin talk/ discussions.
I saw it but I didn't know if it was still updated and I was not sure if normal people are eligible to have a sign up at Bitcointalk if we are not core coders.

Long story, short note, by their campaign here, you can easily see what is a bigger forum between Bitcointalk and Cryptotalk.

No one is saying crytotalk is better. Bitcointalk is better, also in traffic. What OP is talking about is cryptotalk.org. They stop campaigning on this forum and have their own website that people can create an account and get paid for posting. But the forum was full of spam and many wrong information.

If you search about Bitcoin and find forum for Bitcoin discussions, I am sure with you a first search result would be Bitcointalk.org because it is a biggest forum for Bitcoin talk/ discussions.

Cryptotalk is a forum which was advertised on Bitcointalk years ago in 2018 or 2019 with support from Yobit team. That campaign initially was managed by Yobit team and caused massive spam on the forum. Later, Yobit account was banned here and Yobit (Cryptotalk) participants were banned a few weeks or months too (the more report against their spam posts, longer ban time). Later Cryptotalk campaign was managed by yahoo62278.

Long story, short note, by their campaign here, you can easily see what is a bigger forum between Bitcointalk and Cryptotalk.

International contributions on Cryptotalk have stopped almost completely but Russian replies are still very active, I don't know why.
Cryptotalk has connection with Yobit, a shady exchange. Probably Yobit is not seen more international traffic, probably most people using that exchange are from Russia. Also that English section is full of spammers, maybe the Russian board too, but I do not know. The reason would be from those two.

The first that I knew was Cryptotalk, full of shit posts and they stop paying English posters.
It was very disappointing. At some point, my topics got hit from meaningless spam.  Cheesy

I joined this forum and this forum is better.
Yes, Bitcointalk is much more professional.

I wanted to join Altcoinstalk but I saw it not different from the altcoin boards on this forum.
You are right, Altcoinstalks is similar to Bitcointalk's Altcoin section.
But here in Bitcointalk, it is much bigger, especially a good Beginners and Help.

- how you detected Bitcointalk,
Take a look at this thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/interviews-with-bitcointalk-members-5262967, it'll definitely answer your questions as well as learn something gold from other people.
Wow, it's really a big topic.

Cryptotalk
Cryptotalk was a very active forum where many members made contributions but most of it has been spam, probably due to Cryptotalk incentivizing posts.
...
Plus, as far as I know, I think it is related to Yobit? Yoshit?
You are right, Cryptotalk is not an independent forum and it seems to be run by Russian scammers (or at least shady people). International contributions on Cryptotalk have stopped almost completely but Russian replies are still very active, I don't know why.
I don't want to make prejudgement against Cryptotalk and I'm sorry if my claims are wrong but it really looks like it is run by shady people.

Cryptotalk was previously advertised here thru signature campaign which escalates the spamfest happening on that forum. Plus, as far as I know, I think it is related to Yobit? Yoshit?

Hello @everyone!

I'm very curious for your reasons, why you've signed up at Bitcointalk, created an Account here and are an active member of Bitcointalk by writing content regularly.

Previously, I have been active a little bit in Crypto forums to do my own research, share my research and ask questions but after a short time, I was a bit disappointed of most Crypto forum members because many replies haven't been useful at all.
Let me explain some examples:

Quite contrary to Cryptotalk and Altcoinstalks, my research often led me to Bitcointalk on different topics, where I always found helpful information. Most likely, it is due to many coders being active here on Bitcointalk and as we know, coders have a fantastic knowledge about Bitcoin. But even more important is to explain it in an understandable way to normal people, similar to Andreas Antonopoulos, who’s a very experienced Computer Scientist and can explain complicated topics very well, to make it easier to understand for normal people like us.
I haven't created an Account on Bitcointalk until recently, because I was very busy but after reading more on Bitcointalk, I decided to sign up here.
Content is very insightful on Bitcointalk, where I have found comments made by Satoshi, historical content summarized by xtraelv and also topics from fillippone were very helpful for me.
I also want to emphasize our active coders on Bitcoin Technical Discussion explaining difficult content in an easy way for normal people.
I can say it's been a good decision to sign up on Bitcointalk and will continue to look up interesting content here, ask questions or share my research.

If you want to share your reasons,

- why your decision to be active here was in favor of Bitcointalk
or
- how you detected Bitcointalk,

feel free to explain here.
I’m looking forward for your responses.  Smiley
