looks like it's finally here:

PSA: DO NOT buy the 3 TH/s KnC Box & Sustainability of Small Scale Bitcoin Mining

Quote
As of July 8th, 2014, not one bitcoin mining company can ship a machine that profitably mines bitcoin (even with free electricity).
Overtime you could possibly make your money back; however, it is contingent upon the price of bitcoin going up.

I just checked the Rockminer's profitability using TradeBlock with free electricity and various rates of difficulty increase. Turns out that the increase can go as high as 60% a month and those miners will make a profit before the end of the year.

That article is bullshit.

That's without Intelliscam technology Smiley

Ken is in prison already?

Let me fix that for you Wink hopefully he will be on his way there sooner or later, maybe we even get to see a mug shot of ken as well  Grin

Now some speculation about what's happening behind the scene;

Ken's legal team are probably busy counting how much money they gonna make off of ken  Roll Eyes and also told him to keep silent for his own sake.
Ken in the meantime is busy making money off the mini-farm ( clearly visible on the graph from eligius and missing hashrate) we had to pay off the lawyer's fee while the investors and customers are being slaughtered.

Edit: I've been doing a bit of digging in the old thread to find a picture of ken taken in that old garage space with several bench works and someone had added a picture of labcoin scammer in behind of one of the benches. I can't find it but if someone can find it, would be  nice to post it again  Cheesy

103 days, 21 hours and 10 minutes.
Would be amazing if ken, being given the benefit of the doubt, would come in here and explain/defend himself in some way but as history has shown... He most likely IS fucking us all over.

As history has also shown: payback's a bitch.

Im sure his legal team has advised him to stay silent as well.

I requested a btc refund on 24th June and revived no response. After the 7 days were up I sent an email offering to settle for 90% of the value if refunded within 24 hours and 95% if refunded in 48 hours. No response received to this offer either.

I think we have to accept that he is a thief with regard to taking payment and not providing goods. Is he a scammer too (shares) ?  I don't know but it doesn't look good.

Sorry to hear he isn't refunding (anymore)...  Undecided

Every man is guilty of all the good he did not do.

the Commissioner set a pre-hearing conference date of July 15, 2014 and a hearing date of September 9, 2014.

Ken is probably saving his pennies for this. Legal defense is going to cost quite a bit as well as the fines and restitution once he loses. He's only going to pay back what a court specifically says he has to. So it looks like all "refunds" that haven't received anything should start contacting WoodLaw.

to the moon, etc.
I asked the MSD if they knew anything or had any updates:

Hi toastee,

All of our investigations are closed, so the only information I can share is that the investigation is ongoing.

However, any orders issued by the Commissioner is public information and the most recent activity was on July 2, 2014 when the Commissioner set a pre-hearing conference date of July 15, 2014 and a hearing date of September 9, 2014.

I hope this was useful.

Thanks,

Shawn

Ken has gone into hiding; even if there is a reason for the drop in hashrate such as power costs during that time window he won't respond here.
power costs could not possibly be an issue with devices in the 1w/GH range, unless he was paying something outrageous like >$0.25/kWh for power and cooling during the middle of the peak hours, which would mean he built the least-profitable bitcoin mining farm when its much more likely he would have a location with total costs <$0.12 for combined cooling and power per 1kWh of hardware use which will be profitable for some time still.

the likely answers are problems with board failure or tripping fuses, hashrate redirection/theft, or the AC system being so massively underpowered that thermal throttling or high error rates may be occurring during the middle of the day.

A good strategy would be for someone, such as Ken, to have their own private mining pool.  This pool is setup as the priority for the miners.  However, most of the time, this pool is off, so they fail-over to Eligius.   When Ken goes to bed, he switches the private pool back on (Reattaches the network cable for instance) which the miners then pick up on and switch over to.  He generates some coins he needs in his private wallet, and then switches it back off.

That way he doesn't need to redirect the miners all the time.  He just turns on his personal pool when he needs some coins.  Though, it's probably his project manager doing it to skim some coins off the top.  I doubt Ken is this savy.  I'm not even sure Ken knows how Bitcoins actually work.

someone savvy in the company could also do it. Ken might not be the kind of person who minds or notices an employee or family member redirecting coins like this, and there are likely a few other people besides him with access to the systems.
