finflof you are talking utter nonsense.

If you have a sensible question ask it. No genuine questions have *ever* been deleted from the thread only insulting, abusive or off topic posts or sheer lies are deleted.

And what are you talking about re: steak dinners? Someone mentioned that like a month ago but what is the problem you have with talking about the success of the business?

this guy proves my point every time.  maybe across the pond name calling means you are smarter or wiser than others, but i really dont think that everyone is really that stupid.

What name calling?!?!

What did I say?? Again I'll ask for you to quote something that is so objectionable.

So your last post wasn't deleted, you said with great conviction that every non-cheerleader on here is deleted? But it hasn't happened has it.

Please keep contributing but I don't see why you got so worked up with the question about what if the BTC these miners are generating is worth more in a few weeks. Why has that made you so angry?!? Isn't is a clear posibility? Unlike Ken going to the moon - do you see the difference atall?

Also stop making this a nationality thing you are really scraping the barrel, what has nationality got to do with this? Why bring it up?

Very odd behaviour.

So that makes sense with BTC at $300? What about if it's at $500 next week?

wanna play the what-if game?  what if it is $60 next week?  what if electricity prices double?  what if Ken builds a spaceship and starts the 1st bitcoin server mine on the moon?  what if the difficulty goes up and these avalons are rendered worthless? (oh wait that really will happen)

does everyone here remember why zumzero "lost it"?  its because he did the math.  lets assume everyone here knows how to do math (except for stuartuk.  something either prevents or exempts him from being able* to see/comprehend/believe/???).  amazing thing about math...  it doesnt distort truth, doesnt call people names, doesnt preach moon-worship.  so lets use math to discuss this.  i dont know the current hash rate of the avalons, so lets assume it's around 800gh/s.  if he sold the avalons right now he could get around 50 btc worth (16k usd) for the 800gh.  i believe that to be more than the few btc that the Avalon equipment will mine over the next several weeks/months/etc.  even if they were sold for USD and then converted right away to BTC it makes more sense to get rid of them.

if you want just facts lets look at how much BTC has been mined since the last difficulty change on 11/5/13 - 3.5btc (source https://blockchain.info/address/1DJpsvnM7xTnQbWEhLYyCyfxQyxwupEzCa).  lets guess that is just from the 430gh/s, since that should yield about 0.45 btc/day, so with our 800gh/s of avalons total mined should be between 6 and 7 btc per week.  if difficulty were to not change at all over the next 7 - 9 weeks then we will mine around 50 btc with 800gh/s in the next 7 - 9 weeks.  i dont know what the other source of hashpower is, nor do we have any evidence of it, just based on the payout address from btcguild.  50 btc divided by 10000000 shares = 0.00000500/share.  of course none of this accounts for power, rent, employee, etc expenses.

TL/DR - math = since it will take between 7 - 9 weeks of mining 800gh/s at current difficulty to get 50 btc please sell the avalons asap, then either a) convert to BTC and pay that out in a dividend or b) use it for everyday expenses.

If we can get 10 of our 25TH/s machines up and running in the next few weeks we will have 5% of total hash. And we only need to expand that to 70 machines over the following 100 days to hold that 5% in the face of 30% ish difficulty rise every 2 weeks.

It doesn't seem all that outlandish.

TECHNOLOGY, BABY!
Hello everybody,  I'm back!

Very sorry about my mood swing yesterday, I am on strong meds for sciatica at the moment and they are effecting me, although quite an enjoyable buzz.  Diazapam, tramadol and Dicloflex!  hehe  Wink

Damn, how could you be worried about anything on Diazepam + Tramadol lol. You should be feeling happy as a clam

Hey it's 'mood-swing' Zero come back!

We had similar figures on here weeks ago dude. Nice work but this is why your outburst seemed so wrong, I tried to reason with you man but you wouldn't listen. I hope you aren't operating any heavy Plant equipment this week you could cause some real damage.

Yes that looks right, these machines will fit in the Underground no problem. We had a pic up of an underground room and it wouldn't take a lot of space for these machines especially when you have good head-room.

I hope you are back for good now? No more tantrums? lol You know how to go out with a bang!

So I've been crunching some numbers and I don't think it's looking as bleak as I thought.

Could I encourage you to double check these numbers to see if I've made any glaring mistakes, please?   It's likely due to these meds.

I took an average of the last 6 difficulty increases to get to the figure of 32%, including the upcoming one of 16%.  If for whatever reason the next few difficulties keep as low as 16% it's very good news all round!

DATE     DIFFICULTY      DIFFICULTY     1% of all BTC       1 x ActM Machine            Number of these machines

JAN       2,047,532,654       32%               36               6.08   btc per day                         5.92

FEB       3,567,620,896       32%               36               3.49   btc per day                         9.16
MAR      4,709,259,582       32%               36               2.64   btc per day                        12.12

So with 32 btc mined per day, that's 224 btc per week which gives you a theoretical weekly dividend of 0.0000224 btc per share per week, but remember that 50% gets reinvested
which means the divs from mining alone would be 0.0000112 per share per week.

We can also add to that the profit from hardware sales which is an unknown.   And one other consideration is that if Ken fires up the mine with say 5 of these 24.78 TH/s machines on day one then we multiply the initial dividends by 5 times approximately.  Smiley

sent him 50,000 btcquick shares instead of actm. hope he logs in soon to send them back.

lol, I did the exact same with 47,000 shares. I sent him a PM and he replied a few hours later. I now have them back.
This is likely the most inane thing I have ever done.

Thanks Ken. Smiley

Are You Shpongled?
when can share holders expect dividends again?  will we receive a few weeks worth of divs?

As soon as we have a solution in place, yes all AMC-TENDER shares will receive accumulated dividends.

Good news, thanks for that Ken.

LOL. It is amazing how oblivious some investors are. "Hey guys, I heard something happened to bitfunder!!"

kslaughter... you really should consider to sell all these old miners. Make a backward auction or a normal auction. You will for sure get more with that than self mining with them. There are enough buyers out there willing to buy for a good price. Selling them makes way more sense...
Good idea.

With difficulty increasing and more competition it will be hard to get a hold of a reasonable market share.
However, it is my opinion that we are best placed to expand our mining operation. This is mainly due to easic and the opportunity to buy chips when we want them at cost price, something only a number of mining firms will be able to do. This puts us at a huge advantage as independent miners and small company outsourcing for their mining equipment cant keep up.

Not being able to trade right now is a problem - for some. I personally think we are better off going direct until something such as colored coins is developed. Colored coins (or something of this nature) is the future of bitcoin stocks.
Not being able to trade right now - as dividends start rolling in, will push up demand.

We need to remember that the stock was pushing to 0.01 with nothing to offer.

I know that Ken is being criticised for not communicating with shareholders. I have been investing in this company long enough to not expect a lot of words from him. However I do believe that he does have the best interests of the shareholder at heart and this company will succeed.

Lets please have some intelligent discussion about the company and the future. It really does get tiresome when you come on here and all you can read is negativity.

how do you propose we have "some intelligent discussion about the company and the future" when we dont have any information?  it's all speculation.  all the cheerleaders will say i'm trolling, but that is their way of trying to bully those that arent cheering on this company that we really no nothing about.  they talk of steak dinners and champagne, and whenever anyone asks any questions they resort to name calling.  ken doesnt delete their posts, but does delete the posts of the non-cheerleading types.  what are people (both investors and non-investors alike) supposed to think about that?  if this were a real company with a board there would have long ago been a call for a vote of no confidence.

this is true.  i myself have sold several of the avalons.  my most recent sale was of a 60gh/s 2-module mini that sold for $1500.  there is nothing to suggest you would be able to recover the same amount by continuing to mine on it.
