I think it's very unfair if we only blame the campaign manager if his participants do a lot of spamming/shitposting. Yeah! He is wrong somehow for not picking a good quality poster, but at the end, he is not the one who did the violation. The one who did misconduct (spammer/shitposter) should be the one who must face the consequences.

With due respect, blaming the campaign managers is totally appropriate...and most effective. Why should admins and moderators be forced to police campaigns when they must watch everyone else?

The campaign manager and company conducting the campaign should be highly responsible for the activity and traffic they create on this forum. If you hold these people accountable they will enforce better scrutiny over the quality of posts coming from their participants.

The shitposter should also be penalized, but it starts with the campaign manager. If the campaign kicks out a shitposter, that person will likely have much less activity on this forum...thereby fixing a lot of the problem.

JetCash is spot on with his assessment!

The spammers are wearing the signature of the campaign, and their conduct will reflect on the reputation of the product that is being advertised. If the campaign manager doesn't care about this reputation, then it probably indicates that it is a short term product, and probably a ponzi or scam. Obviously if this is the case, then only the naive or stupid will purchase the product.

No offense sir, I disagree a little bit in some part of your statement. I think it's very unfair if we only blame the campaign manager if his participants do a lot of spamming/shitposting. Yeah! He is wrong somehow for not picking a good quality poster, but at the end, he is not the one who did the violation. I think you are missing a basic point here.

Somehow I agree in both points.

I think a campaign manager could pick some quality posters but once that applicants are picked, this campaign members will not care about the quality anymore but just to achieve the require post. Sometimes I scan some of my co-workers in a campaign and just noticed that they are posting in SMT or redundant threads to make them count. I think that it is a main problem that campaign managers can not control.
I have found just very few campaign managers that really observe quality poster and removes them by informing them that poster is now incompetent.

But on the other hand, if a campaign manager will truly identify a true quality poster, I think that spam and shit posting caused by signature campaigns will decrease.  I believe that campaign managers have enough criticism to pick good posters. With that, I think if such posters will bring good points then campaigns will never be a problem.
( Bounties are the main problem next because managers of some bounties do not really care ).

It's good news. I've noticed that some posters are starting to get aggresive towards the unintelligible spammers, and that isn't good for the forum. The next stage will be to get the bounty managers to do the moderation, or get fined for the extra work they create for the mods.

I would like to see if the forum can make an association of  managers where there is a standard and test before you can become a managers, because you know, bad moderation from managers lead to spam.
I love this idea. The managers have a lot of job to do to standardize and moderate the forum. I am looking forward to seeing this association come through.

Yes, I also feel the cleaning is done because when I see profile there is a reduction of the amount of activity and posting. Cleaning is done solely to reduce the number of posts in one thread so that it can make the readers comfortable.

It is really a good initiative. I think this is happening to all sections accept the meta section. We need a lot of fixing in this section as well like merging all the merit related discussions at one place. Also , repetitive discussions should be deleted.

Another requirement in meta section is that there should be a separate thread for account hacked complaints. It will keep all at one place and also help in faster resolution.

Meta always benefits from light touch moderation.
Of course, if you post way off-topic comments, they will still get deleted.

That was a nice suggestion actually because it will increase the quality standard of campaign managers here in the forum and could be able to eradicate the irresponsible ones.

Aggressive how? They're reporting posts to Moderators or what?

Bounty Managers aren't moderating their own campaigns? Wtf? This should be an obligation. Moderators should police the campaign managers, that will in turn force the campaign managers to accept only the high quality posters.

I'm going to tag you. now you are acting as a judge? you want people to get fined? wait for the red tag, from now on people would call you scammer.

Stop it. "Tag you" how? with what? Stop being a bully to someone who's making a valid contribution here.

Removing the ability for someone to get paid is essentially fining them for their behavior.

The best would be to have the merits also deleted with the post. This would hit the spammers hard, because not only their activity will decrease but their merits too...

This is something that I have suggested several times. It also reduces the value of some purchased accounts, where the buyer deletes all the old threads. I should also reduce the practice of inter account merit awarding, and the deletion of the post evidence.

Yes it's a good initiative, hoping people won't get the idea to re-create topics like
- is bitcoin the future
- why do you like with bitcoin
- should I tell my parents about BTC
- should I give my private keys to my GF?

I see the Administrators and Moderators here are cleaning up the rubbish threads around the forum, it's a great initiative!
...
I'm just wondering if there will be a really big cleanup and hundreds (thousands) of posts are deleted, what happens with the merits the scammers gave to each other in the spamming megathreads?
The best would be to have the merits also deleted with the post. This would hit the spammers hard, because not only their activity will decrease but their merits too...

The press section also needs some clean-up, and some new far more drastic rules.
Every blogger is spamming his own links there right now, with articles that are 99% copy paste.
My proposal for the press section:
Every topic should have only the OP and no comments/other post at all. This is a place to copy the press releases into one thread to let everyone read them. As soon as someone wants to discuss something, they can open a new topic in Bitcoin Discussion with just one link to the Press thread (no need to copy-paste the whole article) and should create a meaningful post too....

That is what marlboroza did to me.
By that logic, even I can go around kill sinners, just because of the fact that they are sinners, even if I am not a cop. Oh wait,it is illegal.
OP are you unhappy about the situation? this is the world we live in suck it up and act like a sheep.
He is not? Your slang sounds like The Pharmacist telling shitposters to shut the fuck up and go elsewhere to earn from bounties.
Instead of posting with different accounts, I'm posting with one account. so each part of my post is like a comment from different people.
I know I am going to regret asking this but what the hell: WHY?

Not only are bloggers spamming, people are literally posting every article that has ever been written related to bitcoin/crypto.

Some of the irrelevant post is either moving to off-topic or aimlessly thrown on the trash bin.

And looking in that bitcoin discussion section just wow.

Now I wonder how spammers are going to plague the bitcoin discussion if it is closed permanently.

Anyone else witnessing the same clean up activity?

Yeah, at least it's pretty obvious in Bitcoin Discussions.
I've had this link https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=1.49520;sort=first_post bookmarked from mid April, and even with all the topics opened every day the number has grown only by two pages...

Pretty funny if your order the topics by number of replies:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=1.0;sort=replies;desc

Agreed! This one has been discussed here in the forum quite a few times for now and I hope this will be implemented soon as the majority of spammers are participants of the signature campaigns. This would, in fact, have a great impact in the forum IMO because it will be hard for them to be accepted in any signature campaigns anymore.
